Horrible selection, particularly for casual shoes. Yes, there are athletic shoes, but not everyone wants to wear sneakers all the time. Lots of sandals, but who's buying sandals when it's 50 degrees outside? Bee-lined to the clearance racks, and those were scantily adorned as well. I hadn't been to Famous Footwear in ages. I used to come here frequently and could find a pair of shoes on any given day that I walked in. Obviously not any more, though. This will most likely be my last visit. Glad it wasn't out of my way, since I had planned on stopping in the store next door anyway. read more

I was better off helping myself here, and that's pretty much what I did. So with the introduction of the internet pre-shopping makes the actual trip to the store less painful. I was in the market for new gym shoes, had them all picked out even left the window open on my phone so I could walk in show the image and be directed to the appropriate location. Seems simple, right? Went to the counter, was told nope don't have those, then queue "Crickets." So I have worked retail so I know how things work or should work. She offered to order them, WRONG. I know there are more stores so me, I, myself suggested she look at another store nearby if I wanted them ordered I wouldn't have stepped foot out of my house in the first place. Response "Oh yea, I guess I could do that." She checks the computer inventory and notes they are stated to have some at a nearby store. She doesn't take my name has to track me in the store twice to get the type of shoe and what not off my phone, and at one point walks away with my phone, grumble grumble. I did find other shoes clearance was b1g1 50% which is such a retail gimmick joke, but discounts are discounts (bitterness after working in retail you really know the sales that are worth it and are just ridiculous eye candy.) So, at checkout with my other found items, I'm thinking to myself the shoes I really wanted are at the other near location. There is now a gentleman checking me out and the woman that is helping me starts muttering something to him, and I say muttering because her lack of confidence to tell me the other store said they couldn't find them! Oii vey I'm glad I bought something I'm not really sure she would have told me had I just walked out of the store. Le sigh, bright side I found myself some running shoes and heels. read more

Not much in stock at this location for a toddler, they barely had any shoes in my daughters size and I almost had to go to another location. The stock was almost dry on the shelves as well. Only one employee was in the store at the time as well, she was really helpful, she actually called the other store for me so I could drive to get a shoe yall didn't have. The second time here. 2nd time was during the tax free holiday, so I dont want to be too harsh with my review, BUT they nees to be better at communicating where to pick up online orders. As much as I like saving money, shopping during the tax free holiday is not worth the savings. Besides, shopping online gives me the same savings without the hassle of being in the presence of people dragging their whiny and hungry kids in the store to try on shoes...no bueno for my nerves, so I decided to look for the shoes I had window shopped for last week but couldnt find in my color online. The app makes it pretty user friendly to find and order as much as you want, but didnt receive confirmation that my order was ready for pickup. Decided to shop at a local department store in hopes that I would get the email. My estimated pick up tije came and went and I had done enough shopping for the day, so I decided to pop over to Famous. Soon as I walked in, the line met me at the door. Employees were vigoriously trying to get people checked out. My concern was that my order hadnt been pulled with all the busyiness and I would not get what I ordered becausr someone else bought it before it was pulled. Decided to look around and see if I could find the shoes I ordered and try them on before I beckoned for help on my online order. If one of the items didnt fit, I would just exchange it for another shoe to get my coupon and tax free deal. I actually found one of my shoes that I ordered and it fit fine; the other was no where ro be found, so I pulled an alternative shoe just in case the worse case scenario (the shoe was sold before it was pulled) had occurred. On my way to find an associate, one came by and asked if I needed help, she actually looked puzzled when I said I had a question lol I told her I was coming in to pick up an online order. She asked for my name and stated she'd be right back, however, another associate waa sent over and said the order was ready in the front. Well, she didnt say go to the front of the line, so I assunmed I had to get in line and wait...even when other associates came by to check shoes or make purchases with their tablet for customers who were using credit cards NO ONE clarified that I could skip the line and get worked in UNTIL I finally made it to the front counter with the same associate that checked to see that the order was ready. She apologized for the miscommunication, and I really so understand they were totally swamped with customers, but everyone needs to know what the procedures are and hoe they will be relayed to customers--especially on occassiona like tax free weekend! I'm a more understanding customer and know how it is to work retail, but there are more beligerent and ignorant customers out there versus ones who are as patient as myself. Hopefully they will put a sign up to signify to online customers where and how to retrieve pickup orders in the future. read more

I think these reviews are outdated. I wear a 14W so it's difficult for me to find shoes I like. 3 different people helped me at this store and all 3 were awesome! I don't patron any place with poor customer service. These people were exceptional! Their shoes are BOGO right now and they were crazy busy. Most rudest employees Ever!!!! Me and my wife came in to get a pair of shoes and your African American manager came up to me if I needed to do a return I simply said no because the shoes I had in my hand I was gonna buy. She tried saying I came in with these shoes so I told them to go look at the damn video to see if I really came in with shoes. Why would I bring in shoes and try to pay for them?????!!? You guys have some dumb ass workers. They didn't know shit. We tried asking for another size and they wanna give attitude to us. Also a older lady was right by us asking for help and they just kept walking away, so the lady walked out so y'all missed out on another sale. They wanna laugh at us and talk shit about us right in front of us. Best believe this will be my last time ever going in there and buying shit.
