I sent my mother's Madame Alexander doll here in August. When I asked via email in September how things were going, the owner at first claimed "She is in process but not quite ready to be released from the hospital. I will be in touch as soon as she has made a full recovery." When two months went by and I'd heard nothing, I emailed again and was asked for the doll's "hospital bed number," which had never been provided to me -- I kept all emails both to and from this business. As it turned out, the owner kept my doll for nearly three months and did no work at all on her. The Doll Hospital gets a two-star rating ONLY because the doll was returned to me without additional damage, the bare minimum I expected from a snafu like this. Don't send your doll here if you expect a quick turnaround, or indeed any work done at all. read more

I bought this doll off of EBAY because it was the exact doll my Grandmother got me when I was a child. When I lost her in a fire, I was devasted. But a few months ago, I found this doll and I bought her in spite of the dent in her belly and bad hair. I found the Doll Hospital online one day and the reviews said they were great. So I sent her in and not only did they remove the dent but they fixed her original hair and she looks beautiful! Found the Doll Hospital by accident when we visited Spring with family. My wife was so excited because she is a doll collector and couldn't wait to go inside. However it was a disappointing experience as the staff was not friendly, and was rude, abrupt and abrasive. On top of that, customer calls were taken on speakerphone with the customers giving out credit card numbers, expiration date and security code for payment which could be heard throughout the store. The staff was also rude and abrupt with the caller on the phone. My wife felt like she inconveniencing the staff just by being there. Would not recommend. Giving them one star only because Yelp won't let me give zero stars. The place has great potential if only the owners and staff showed a little more appreciation and friendliness to their customers. read more

I bought an antique Patty Play Pal doll (head only) off of Ebay. This doll's head was so lovely, her thick auburn hair and her gorgeous baby face enchanted me, she looked new, except she just did not have a body! I couldn't rest until I found her an appropriate body! After some research, I called The Doll Hospital to ask if they might have a body for this beautiful, vintage, doll head. Next, I sent the head to The Doll Hospital in Spring Texas, and, after the doll hospital took a look at the doll head, I was contacted within a day or two, and assured that they did have an appropriate body for my doll. I made a modest deposit, and, in a surprisingly short time, (maybe two to three weeks) I paid a very fair price, and, my gorgeous doll arrived home, all in one big, gorgeous, piece, via Fed Ex. She was packed so beautifully, she looked brand new, the doll was stunning! I felt so grateful to have found such an honest, hard working, professional, business that made my dream of finally having my own Patty Play Pal doll (at age 60) Better late than never! They do a great job here and are very good about customer care. I was told how much it would cost to clean up and recoup my Madame Alexander dolls. I put down a modest deposit and was called once they were ready. The hurricane occurred the day I was to get them, and the Hisoital was very understanding about my delaying the drive to Spring. Ultimately they offered to mail them to me at cost and I get them the next day. Lovely staff. read more

I highly recommend the Doll Hospital! They took care of my vintage 1930's composition doll as if she had been a real child. They worked wonders with the restoration of her skin and eyes, restrung her limbs, and went above and beyond to place an incredibly delicate patch over a bald spot in her caracul wig (and this was completely unexpected!) Not only this, but they put extra effort in during the very busy pre-Christmas season to finish her before Christmas. I am so grateful for their concern. The price of restoration is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The repairs were done expertly and an accurate estimate of expenses was given before any work began. (They also have a delightful selection of new and vintage dolls, clothes, and accessories for sale. Very fun just to browse through the store!) read more

Shouldn't even get one star! There is an old man who was rude the moment we walked up. He told us we can't go inside because we were wet. One of the kids with us had a damp paper towel in her hand that she was using to tap her head with. She threw it out so we could go in. Once in I tried to make conversation about my daughters American doll collection. The woman had an attitude telling me the American dolls are switched out, not repaired when they are repaired. We wrote on the bottom of our dolls foot, and it came back that way. While this lady was talking to me the old man walked in yelling at my nephew because he was standing in front of the fan. My kids as well as my sister's kids were planning to buy dolls and some stuff animals, but after our treatment I refused to support such a business. read more

When the doll was returned, it was repaired and even cleaned up - almost like new. I also emailed the owner and received prompt replies to my emails. I was searching the net for businesses that repair dolls as we had several porcelain dolls damaged due to multiple moves. These were very special dolls from different countries given to our daughter by my husband many years ago. I found the Doll Hospital and after a few e-mails and calls back and forth I decided to bring the dolls up to Spring about 45 minutes from Houston. The store was a dream come true for any doll lover with a packed store of dolls and accessories galore. The owner even wears doctor scrubs and the gal working on dolls behind her had a nurse uniform on. Pretty cool! I brought 2 dolls in with broken legs, disheveled hair and stained dresses. The third doll was a bride and missing a shoe and stocking. She was so patient studying the dolls and treating them with care and then pulls out a box and was literally able to match the bride doll stocking and shoe immediately. I couldn't believe it! That doll was at least 30 years old and was from some another country. I left the dolls there and she found and fixed legs to fit, gave them "spa facials" and cleaned their hair and clothing. The dolls were sent back packaged very carefully and protected in a box and are now displayed again on a shelf with new stands and all. This place is pretty incredible and even if you don't have a repair she has a very extensive inventory of beautiful dolls and accessories that any little (or big) girl would lose their mind in!! read more

Loved this store! We stopped in to see Old Town Spring on a trip from the Dallas area, and went into this store on a whim. The proprietor has been in the doll business for 30 years. As the name suggests, they repair dolls. But they also have a good inventory of dolls for sale - old, new, as well as one-of-a-kind Artist Reborn dolls - lots of everything. There are expensive collector dolls as well as dolls just to play with. I was "just looking," but ended up buying two 1923 porcelain Dream Babies in beautiful condition. The dolls used to have sleep eyes, but the prior owner (they were in the shop on consignment) had "fixed" them. When asked, the proprietor said she could fix them (or "unfix" them...make them move again), but she wouldn't know the repair cost until she opened them up and saw how they had been fixed in place. I elected not to do that...for now! Service was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. We will be back! read more

I am so glad I found the Doll Hospital. Dr. Mary Ann repaired my little plush Turtle. He was very loved by me and my husband so he was in bad shaped. She gave me a great estimate on how long and how much his hospital bill will be. I was very sad to leave my Turtle at the doll hospital, but I knew he was in good hands with Dr. Mary Ann. On the day I went to pick up Turtle I was scared and excited all at the same time. It was a long week without my little guy. I was amazed at how great he came out. Turtle looked so fresh and bright. His new stuffing made him so soft he no longer has a floppy neck. I am glad I took Turtle to the Doll Hospital and I got to meet the wonderful staff at the Doll Hospital. I am sad it is far away from me. I wish it was closer to just go and visit. Dr. Mary Ann took great care of my Tommy Turtle. The Doll Hospital has so many cute dolls and doll clothes.
