This is a fun place to visit, especially before Christmas. My wife and I went by today in search of a few last grandchildren Christmas gifts. We love supporting this local business that has an incredibly large and diverse inventory. Every aisle is packed with toys and not just the popular stuff you see at the Big Box toy chains. There is literally something here for every kind of kid from babies to teens and even some for adults with young hearts! Today was the Saturday before Christmas and they had a live Santa there who was seated and ready to talk to children and let family take pictures with their phones. I listened to him talking to the kids and he was really quite good at getting responses. Some people say that some things are expensive here but I think you get what you pay for, their large inventory is a lot to keep up with and they always have the most helpful staff. read more

I love this store. I have gone here over thirty years. I have never had a bad experience. I used to take my son but he's 31 and moved away. That doesn't stop me. I still go buy candy for my husband and just visit with the employees and look around. It is,definitely, a child's paradise. It is for the child in every adult as well. read more

Stopped in and grabbed a last-minute Balloon Bouquet that they now offer and a gift for my nephew's birthday. They wrapped the present for FREE, and the balloon arch was gorgeous! So nice to have such a cute and convenient place right in KINGWOOD! Thanks, OTP!! read more

I just talked to Bex. She says she's the manager but she didn't seem too concerned that they wrapped gifts for my FIVE grand-sons and put the multiple gifts into the wrong bags. What was the point of me separating all the gifts into bags (with each name on the bag) if the girls, wrapping gift, are just going to place the gifts into any bag? I have now had to remove the wrapping paper to see each gift, wrap it back up and place it into the correct bag. What if I had not checked? I had a bad feeling they were careless and this is why I checked. I also stepped outside the store to give them plenty of time to wrap. But when I returned the girls saw me and started rushing around to wrap the gifts. They also did a poor job wrapping...little care was put into wrapping. I will buy a gift somewhere else next time, place it into a bag and put tissue paper around. The gift wrapping is a nice touch and it's one reason I pay more to shop here. But I will not be back anytime soon. I need to get the bad taste out before we come back...if we come back. read more

I've been going to On The Park for quite a few years to get all the essential candy for my diet that cannot be found in a normal store. Way back when they used to be strictly candy and stuffed animals, but they have moved toward the front of Kingwood and evolved into a combination candy/toy store. What can be better, especially around the holidays, than getting your sweet tooth fix and knocking out a few Christmas presents at the same time? Now of course the toys are geared towards kids, but I've purchased many a stuffed animal for a girl here, which are top notch might I add. You can find some pretty sweet (no pun intended) candy here as well. My personal favorites are dark chocolate coated nuts and the 2 ft red licorice rope. They have a large selection of truffles and other top quality treats as well at the counter. Oh another thing, if you get a gift at the store, they will wrap it for you! And as an added bonus, if you spend so many dollars, you get wooden chips to spend at the store for the next time you come back! And yes, you will want to come back. As far as customer service goes, all the employees are very helpful. My family has known the owners for years and they are great people, very friendly and always ready to help. Heck, I was having the toughest time trying to find a present for my sis and they spent a good 10 minutes helping me find a perfect gift! Great you store to find old and classic toys. I went in to find a "Parachute Man" toy which I couldn't find in any other stores. Only thing is that you can expect to pay a bit of a premium for the classic toys. But it is totally worth it! Music and candy in the store make you feel like a kid again. THis store is fantastic. They carry a variety of old fashioned toys, candy, gifts. This is a great stop for a gift for any age. Whats even better, they gift wrap for free. I have found their prices to be a bit higher than regular merchants but their customer service and the gift wrapping makes up for that difference. The only problem I have run into is their hours. I love (non-box store) toy shops and Toys and Candy on the Park did not disappoint. We took the kids in to get pictures with Santa and to see if anything that caught their eye. They had a good variety of toys. I think their strong point is their line of educational toys. The feel of the place is cozy and fun. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Santa was great with the kids. We didn't feel rushed at all and he took time to listen to their wishes. The candy and treats section goes well with the theme. Their peppermint was awesome!
