From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed with genuine smiles and greetings. Every person we encountered seemed to spred a sense of joy and happiness. When we were searching for free weights, a helpful staff member guided us to the right section. Another young man proactively offered his assistance, going above and beyond to find the perfect weights and even a weight stand. This store's commitment to outstanding customer service and friendliness is truly inspiring. Kudos to the best customer service down to the cashier that rang us up! The store is so well organized, clean and has mall parking! My favorite sporting goods store!

The one I came across was too big for me. I went back to him and did search to see if another location had it. He came across one and ordered it. I just got it as promised and I love it. I needed to do a return for a birthday gift. I took in the original receipt I was given by my…read moremother-in-law along with the items that were purchased. The front line cashier, while very nice, stated their policy about doing returns ($ back to original form of payment, exchange or gift card). I explained that this was a gift and would be inappropriate and rude to ask the gift purchaser to have to present their card for a return. He politely suggested I look at some shirts or jerseys and I asked what their largest size is (2X - I'm a 4X) I told him that wouldn't work for me and I asked to speak to a manager on duty. He pointed to a lady that was working with a customer and said he'd let her know what's up when she's done helping that customer (which is fine and expected). When the lady came to the register area she just asked the cashier if he needed her (he obviously said yes). She didn't introduce herself (later learned her name is Samantha) or anything just asked "what's up?" I went through everything again and she goes into the "our return policy" speech. Then she asked if I had the original card it was purchased with; "IT WAS A GIFT!" I said rather loudly. I continued in a firm tone "You guys don't carry things in my size and I don't want any of your bobble heads or tchotchkes." Not once did Samantha give ANY semblance of understanding just kept repeating the company's return policy. Finally I was just DONE and asked for her supervisor's contact info. "I can't give that out" she says. "I can take your name and number and they can call you." I retorted with "Their has to be some sort of contact information you can give me." Samantha wrote down a name (Butch Vela) and phone number of a sticky pad, took the return items and receipt and just shoved them all back into the bag I brought them in. When I returned home (10 min later) I called the number she gave (it was the store's number) and told the person answering the phone that I was the one who just stormed out of there about 10 minuets ago and I need to leave a voicemail for Butch Vela. Samantha was the person who answered the phone and she advised that they don't have a voicemail system but she's hand write a note and give it to Butch the next time he's in. I asked what Butch's title was and she snapped back with "he's the district manager. I'll give him your contact info when I see him!" I said I'd "expect a call within 48 business hours" (I'm figuring he's M-F 9-5) "which should be no later than Tuesday." "I can't promise you that." She said. I finished that call with by repeating my expectations of the return call and said thank you. Now I wait. Update - 3/22/18 - No contact from Butch as yet.

Maybe it's because I've worked in retail/mall locations and understand the immense amount of work it takes to keep a store like that together, but at the same token, it doesn't take much more as a decent human being to understand these employees have a lot on their plate. The Aerie individual that assisted me with my bra search was super friendly and acted as if we'd been friends forever. Which honestly, makes that (possibly) awkward experience much easier. She was super helpful and made me feel at ease. Not to mention the overwhelming amount of body positivity that this store oozes. It's seriously just phenomenal. On the American Eagle side, our checkout experience was flawless. We had an online exchange to process, and the sales associate was so friendly and personable. He admitted he was newer to the AE fold and apologized for it not being as streamlined as he hoped. Honestly, it didn't really take any longer than I'd expect a normal transaction. It's honestly just going that extra mile to make the connection with a customer that makes it for me. His fellow associate/manager(?) assisted him with the transaction and everything continued to flow smoothly. Oh yeah, and did I mention the quality and current sales? I feel like every time I shop here the quality in products just soars. It's become my only stop for bras, undergarments, jeans, and sweaters. Go visit this crew!!!

At first, because the store is so big, it can be a wee bit overwhelming; but once you get the lay of the land it's easy to navigate and find what you're looking for. Being a clearance store, you don't always know what you're going to find and they don't always have everything that you might particularly want, but that's part of the fun and excitement about going there ... you never know what you're gonna find!! Do note that because it's a clearance store there are NO returns or exchanges. So, be sure to try on everything that you're considering buying. I told him I could get the Brooks for a better price elsewhere, which in hindsight I should not have mentioned. When I did say that he jumped up and said I was "using him and wasting his time". Called the store about "all sales final on sales merchandise" on receipt and they are sticking to their policy. Have subsequently noted other review about deceptive pricing. Giving 2 stars because they did offer to hang the clothes in dressing room while I continued shopping, but I will not return to this store again. It's a shame as that type of clothing is my go to and Bainbridge Island is my new home as of late last year.
