Today I walked in to a mass of beautiful fabric colors for summer styles, packed so tightly on the rack it was often hard to see what the garment was. Skirts and pants need separation to view. Athletic tops and bathing suits all squished together on one bar. But not a single Toad & Co skirt as appeared in the website. The staff member was pleasant and just shrugged and said that none were there. She also said that there were no skirts at all in knee length streetwear, just dressy wrap skirts or long dress skirts. What a wasted trip for me. If you are looking for skorts, shorts, swimwear, long dresses or any sort of tops, the color palette is almost endless and the quality is good from past experience.

Her clothes are extremely well designed with hidden pockets, wonderful fabric and great styles. The salespersons at the store are friendly and if you don't find your size, they'll give you a code so that you can hopefully order it online without paying for shipping. They now also offer running dresses and are constantly working on new models to improve their design. Absolutely love their running skirts!

(Okay, so…read moretechnically, re-opened... they had previously been of the Diagonal Highway, but we won't get into semantics) As a gal who loves to run, hike, bike, and stay active, I am SO proud to see a Colorado based athletic wear company succeed. If you haven't tried Skirt Sports apparel yet- I would most definitely suggest coming in shop. Feel, see, and touch- they're known for their signature pockets built into each running skirt/capri/pant. These pockets are golden- they keep your items hidden but accessible (like those ever-growing smart phones). They also have a handy music port- so your headphones don't dangle awkwardly. Last but definitely not least- the designs! The prints! The colors! They update prints with each season, so stay on the lookout for new and fresh stuff. I will probably always be a brick-n-mortar kinda gal, so having this physical shop will make it that much easier for me to do shopping, try on items in person, and get a real "feel" for things before I make purchases. OH YEAH- almost forgot- the shop hosts a lot of special events. From running groups to fitness workouts to a phenomenal speaker series (no joke- can you say the CEOs of Justin's Nut Butter? It was a great collection of items for all ages, from novelty decor objects, jewelry, clothing, books, toys, and a wide selection of cards. The staff was friendly and attentive but gave us freedom to browse independently. This shop used to be in my neighborhood business district where there is very little parking available. By moving here, they got a bigger store and plenty of parking.

I also find much of their staff to be not very welcoming and not great at fostering a fun and warm environment. I have seem Rosie, Rags store manager at this thrift store before too. Rags has offered two consignment systems in recent past, one an unsupervised lord of the flies free-for-all style taking only a handful of first-come-first-served consignors pitting Boulder sisters against one another in a early morning lineup with car engines revving and running before the doors open, to a newer and deeply flawed appointment and selection process.

Anyhoo, a great concept nonetheless, but with inflated prices, so buyer beware... However, These socks are wonderful quality, and are very humorous...great for gift giving!! They carry a variety of brands including my personal fave Stance. I knew Stance made some fun socks but boy did I underestimate the variety they offered. There are gift boxes of socks for ladies (omg saw the cutest cat ones) and babies and some holiday inventory to boot. Keep an eye out for their $4.99/sale socks scattered throughout the store. Oh, and did i mention? They have an Adult Sock section too (it's in a set of drawers on the left when you walk in). Just keep an eye out for their "Warning!" signs. Since this location open in June they have rolled out an additional 5 stores! Woot woot! I had a wonderful time perusing this store and will most definitely be back. The one type of socks I did not see that I think Boulder would love is a selection of barre/pilates socks. Though they can be found at some local barre/fitness studios it would be nice to see some here (as I'm sure they would be super fun ones).
