After heavy rains we'd get water, we had technicians come out and they would recommend building up the foundation to draw water away from, we got new gutters, all the while while losing hundreds of dollars of flooring and furnishing. We sent pictures each time, and nothing seemed to work. Though during it all, no one thought to check the system itself, that is until Dave arrived in July. He actually put a hose to run water directly into the system and discovered that the water wasn't draining into our sump pump. Kurtis and crew were extremely polite and listened as my wife explained the problem. He had barely broken into the section of the concrete revealing an area where the new system wasn't even connected to the old. And he showed by my that no weep holes were drilled. He decided he was going to replace that entire section as he didn't trust the rest of the work. All these years, that water just dumped into the ground. His crew spent 5 hours replacing then entire new system and showed my wife what they did and why before concreting over. Kurtis has restored our trust in Helitech and NOW when it rains heavy we won't be anxious about water in the basement. He said if we get water, he'll come back out to check the system though believed he resolved the problem. No one else is coming to check our system from here on out except Kurtis or Dave!! Thank you!!

I cannot recommend this company at all, as I have learned that it seems they really don't know what they are doing. I own and live in a house on the edge of a small lake in Illinois. On occasion, I do get flood waters in the basement, but I called this company primarily to check the quality of the foundation, as I had some floor sagging. They did install new beams and supports, which helped, but they also suggested a water-removal system to keep out the moisture, and I agreed because of the occasional flood. Both the salesman and the work crews saw that we were right on the lake; it was not a secret, but at the time of the installation, I had no water in the basement and had not had water in the basement for over a year. After the water-removal system was installed, it ran constantly, pumping water into the front yard every few minutes from a basement that had NO water in it previously. Very quickly, we had a front-yard swamp. I tried to speak to someone about the issue, but the manager I was ultimately able to reach (because no one would acknowledge my concerns until I threatened not to pay) was rude and belligerent, accusing me of lying and ultimately provoking a shouting match, which my wife had to interrupt in order to speak. TOTALLY unprofessional. Ultimately, my wife made phone calls in order to find out exactly where the water table was for our house and learned that the pump for this system had actually been installed INSIDE the water table. The rude manager I spoke to refused to consider having "an expert" check the water table, but it took her only about 20 minutes of time on the phone and no money at all to find out this information and later receive a copy of the report. If a representative of this company had been honest enough and knowledgeable enough to bother to make that phone call, I could have saved over $6,000. Do not hire these people. This company's representatives are, for the most part, inept, rude, and dishonest, interested only in getting the biggest check they can without providing a service worth that kind of money.

We had entire basement mold remediation done, along with foundation crack repair. During the crack repair process, the company attempted to smear putty all over the cracks to "waterproof" them, and when this failed, they spent 3 additional trips attempting to drill and fill the cracks with cheap hydraulic filler. Each time, it took weeks, if not months to get anyone back to repair the failed work. Sometimes it would even be a month before receiving a call back or email response. This went on for 12 month after our initial visit, until we received an email from the owner, Mike McDermont, saying that he had done enough work and that he refused to spend any more time on our basement. Mike attempted to say that the failed repairs were our fault, stating that we somehow didn't keep the cracks dry for long enough after their repairs! (Once again, poor planning around weather by Mike, but they blame the owner. Comedic.) I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone, not even to caulk a toilet. Mike was hands down the most rude businessman that we have ever encountered in our home restorations.

We had used them previously for our finished side of our basement and had no problems. The big difference is that they changed owners and with that work ethic and integrity were clearly no longer a priority. We paid $8,000 and our garage wasn't dry for even one day! The crew did a good job resurfacing but they did not have enough experience and knowledge to know the concrete slab would move in the winter and crack the patch and new surface. There is a deep crack down the middle of the new surface of the patio from top to bottom. They looked at it and knew what caused it and said it's not their fault and they departed. I trusted in their experience and knowledge and they didn't have it. These guys aren't pros. Pros know their business. Why would they let me spend all that money when in a few months it would be ruined? Now in the last year a new crack has developed on the other side of the patio next to the house. So 2 cracks in the new surface so far and probably more to come. That's a lot of money for a crappy looking back patio with cracks. I would rather not have spent the money. For the same money I could have built a wood deck on top of the concrete and it would look good.
