That said the original Featherbone employeed the majority of my family from the 1920's onward - in fact many of them can be found in a large panaramic photo when you walk into the facility. Celebrating the past is a positive way to remember it and in many ways the Featherbone manages this well. It's a nice place with interesting and very articulate reproductions - many in cast iron. The serivce there is very friendly and I would say if we had a summer place in the county, Featherbone would be our first stop!

The store felt disorganized and in a state of disarray, and I noticed several food items with expired dates, which is definitely something shoppers shouldn't have to worry about. What really bothered me, though, was the restroom situation. Both restrooms were marked "out of order." When I asked about it--because two seniors in our group needed to use them--an employee told me they do that so people won't ask for the key. That's unacceptable on many levels and honestly left a bad impression. Overall, it's not a terrible store, but is it worth nearly a 50-minute drive? No, it's not. Maybe I'll stop by again in the summer if I need garden supplies--but for now, this trip wasn't worth the distance.
