So one day as we were coming home, we decided to stop in. It is sensory overload! It was so colorful and packed with so many cute things in the shop. You can find gifts for friends or yourself. There were great items for kids, teens and adults. I loved the vintage board games. They were packaged in such an attractive way. I found a couple of really pretty decorative pieces for my condo too. This would be the perfect place to find a housewarming or hostess gift. There was a delightful dog at the store. I think maybe the owners... I love when a business brings their doggie to work. It really made the store more fun to shop in. I wish I had been able to spend more time in this adorable shop. I will definitely return the next time I am back in town.

While I was browsing one of the gluten-free sections, a staff member noticed, let me know there were even more options, and personally showed me where everything else was located. I highly recommend checking this place out!

When I walked in a few minutes before closing, the two ladies working were still kind and welcoming. They didn't make me feel rushed at all. There wasn't too much inventory but I ended up with a really cute grey blazer for work $20, a butter dish $1.50, and a beautifully giving spider plant with a vase $5. They were having a 50% off moving sale so I managed to get some scores. The only thing I passed on was the rose brooch and I'll forever regret it haha. I was going in a few days a week, but I won't anymore. I stopped in for a bottle of wine and a couple other things. Three young women were in front of me and overcharged for frozen pizza. They questioned him and he said it was for a different pizza, but then they went over to the cooler and it was priced $5. He did not adjust the price for them. They just kind of looked at each other and left. I was next in line and decided to look at my receipt. I too was charged more than the listed price in the cooler for that wine and another item I bought. I pointed it out and all the cashier said was they were adjusting the prices for the season. I said that they needed to publish the correct price then. Nothing. Crickets. No adjustment and no apology. Barney's is only a couple miles, so I will just go there from now on. Check your receipts, but good luck getting them to make good on it.

I live in Union Pier and regularly shop here. I took my daughter and her friend in this morning and…read morespent $50 on overpriced "squishies" and "putty". Ironically while leaving the store I said to my daughter, "while I could get all of these items for a fraction of the cost on Amazon I don't mind paying more to support a local business." We then got into our car, she opened the squishy and after simply taking it out of the packaging it popped, exploding sand all over my car. After spending an hour vacuuming my car, I went back with the popped/defective item and asked for a simple exchange. (Note the cost of this item was $6.99). The manager refused to exchange it. Instead I was told that because the store has no way to verify the quality of its toys, it passes on the cost of such risk to its consumer. Notably, the store obviously chooses the products it purchases and then marks up for retail. As a regular customer at this store, it's not about the measly 7 bucks. It's the principle and the lack of customer service offered. Apparently the store knows that it operates more as a tourist trap and that the majority of its customers are visitors. In any event, I will not be returning and would highly recommend that all New Buffalo visitors avoid shopping here.
