Going to a Big Lots is akin to going to a zoo that has exotic animals that you have never seen…read morebefore. You never know what you are going to find, but you can be sure that you'll see some crap that should have never been made. There are some familiar products/items, but there is a lot of stuff that is remaindered from the stock of other stores that didn't sell well enough to leech shelf space. The food items are always a source of amusement, because they offer some truly strange things. The people that work here are pretty nice, but I can't recall ever seeing an employee that wasn't behind a checkout lane of carrying something out for a customer. Maybe they roost in the back when there isn't an essential task. I have no idea. I did hear the intercom announce that there was a customer in the furniture department that needed help, so apparently you can get assistance if you need some of that. And, FYI, for those on food stamps: You cannot use a SNAP benefits card at Big Lots. The woman ahead of me had almost $100 worth of stuff rang up, presented her card, and was told that Big Lots didn't accept that form of payment. She fled the store, leaving behind a buggy full of goods. I think that she was embarrassed... Comparing canned soup and pasta prices, you can get national brands a bit cheaper at Walmart (or for the same price), but the aforementioned "weird stuff" may present a bargain that you can't resist. I found some Libby's ravioli today for less than $1 a can, so I sprang for four of them, simply because I had never seen it before. What doesn't kill me just makes me stronger, etc.

We went here to get a ginger bread house, and when we opened up the box when we got home, THEIR…read moreWERE FUCKING ANTS IN THE GODDAMN GINGERBREAD HOUSE, THAT SHIT WAS NASTY AS HELL!!?!?!??!! The customer service wasn't that good either......but umm.....the store is good, and stuff, but bad customer service and ants in my stuff. Nasty as hell!

It ain't Publix or Apple Market, but it's better than average for what it is: A place to buy some…read morecheap grub. And note that it isn't great grub that is inexpensive...that would be bonus, but you're getting cheap food at cheap prices. Some of the produce is local. I've seen corn and tomatoes and beans and okra (today, it was "Allentown Okra"). You aren't going to find that at Winn-Dixie, for sure. The meat is thoroughly mediocre, neither exceptional nor horrible. For that provision, I prefer Grocery outlet in Pace, which has the best meat that you can buy in the area. As is typical with budget groceries, you'll find some stuff that you've never or rarely seen, but that's a feature, not a bug. You'll also encounter some skeevy patrons that make "People of Walmart" look like celebrities strolling the red carpet at a Hollyweird premiere. No matter. These folks are genial and polite, in my experience. You'll pay a 10% surcharge on every item that you toss into your infuriatingly rattle-wheeled buggy, just like Grocery Outlet. Keep that in mind...some deals aren't actually deals. And if you need more than an armful of items, grab a dilapidated buggy from the lot, because the hand-carried baskets disappeared a long time ago. The employees have told me several times that people walked off with the baskets, which is a polite way of saying that "Sh!t got stoled!" or something similar. I like to imagine that some resourceful rednecks converted them into crab traps. Starting early next month, the store will close at 8 pm. The new store should be open by then, where the old Piggly Wiggly used to be.

Lately when we stop it seems as if they are getting way out of wack with their prices. We noticed for awhile now someone is getting crazy pricing things. They seem to start off with $2.95 no matter if it even came from the dollar tree. I've seen items that were originally cheaper than their asking price. Not only are you paying more for most items they ask when you check out if you want to round up to the next 1$!! I personally would not mind if prices were cheaper. They do however have one tag they discount I think weekly. Most the time your Lucky to find one or 2 items that color. Of course we know everything is donated so why be greedy asking such high prices. I wouldn't even stop here but it's close enough to my Moms house so it's easy to stop in. Ive even been here when a few people have made the comment they were too expensive and walked out. There is plenty of parking . The donation area you pull on the side to the rear of the building. The help is usually nice to deal with. I guess we will stop coming as often and maybe someone will take over the pricing and the word will get around fast, right now best to go if your looking for something in particular you might but get lucky.

The ring was made out of 10K white gold, which Mick, the jeweler, was happy about as it was easier to work with than silver. It all went downhill from there. After waiting to hear from them for two weeks, I started calling again. I called on April 27, June 5, June 6, June 7, June 8, June 9, and June 14 and left messages at each call but did not receive a response. I went into the store on June 16 and spoke with the owner. He said AT&T was having issues with their phones and to call him directly on his cell phone. The ring wasn't ready but it was "in progress." He said it would be a few more days and they'd call me when it was ready. Again, it kept rolling downhill. I called July 25 and left a message that I don't care if the ring was done or not, I was coming in to pick it up the next day to take it somewhere else. Mick called me back and said it would be finished by the end of business that day. I told him I'd be in Milton on July 26 at 10:00 a.m. I went to the store and Mick told me he'd need another 30 minutes. When I got the ring, it was too large, horrible craftsmanship, and the wrong metal. I paid the full $200.00, got in my car, burst into tears, and went home. I just left the Jewelers Trade Shop in Pensacola. They were horrified at the state of my ring. It requires half of the ring to be cut off because they cannot separate out the wrong metal that was used. I paid $245.00 for it to be fixed correctly. I cannot dissuade you from going to Santa Rosa Jewelers loud enough.

He was a gentleman at his home and insisted I stop at his store to get it fixed. Few days pass and I finally get the chance to stop by the Jewelry shop, I walked in the store and it took at least 10 minutes for Mick to come out the back. He comes out smelling like cigarettes and alcohol and apologizes, no big deal I thought. I proceed to explain to him about the watch and he starts cutting me off as he's examining the watch. I got a little surprised but kept cool, he gives me this story of how he has to order the battery that will take days to get. No problem I expected that but then he tells me how much it costs and that I'll have to leave the watch over night. I tell him due to the nature of my job I'm not sure how long I'll be in Milton so I can't leave it here. He proceeds to get angry and starts yelling at me how I'm wasting his time and I should go somewhere else since I'm being a "cheap ass". Immediately I got upset and told him to screw himself and walked away. I hope this isn't how he treats his other customers, hopefully he can learn to control his temper next time around.
