During the return of an item purchased online, the cashier was rude, impatient, and visibly irritated. At the time, there were no other customers present. I addressed his behavior by stating that he was being rude; I did not , insult him, or behave disrespectfully. After I thanked the cashier and stepped away to continue shopping, I observed the same cashier start helping another customer, and both of them began laughing and making derogatory comments about me. I returned to the counter to address this behavior, at which point the other customer began yelling at me, telling me to "behave better," completely unaware of the irony of his own actions. The involvement of other customers in a matter between a Nordstrom employee and me was inappropriate, unnecessary, and deeply unsettling. When I stepped outside the store to contact Nordstrom Customer Service, an individual named Justin approached me and introduced himself as the manager on duty. He immediately stated that the cashier who assisted me was the kindest and most polite employee in the store. He also referenced the existence of video footage. I asked whether he had personally reviewed the video, as his comments appeared to reflect a preconceived bias similar to that displayed by others involved. He acknowledged that he had not viewed the footage. I informed him that I intended to contact Nordstrom Customer Service, as this was not the first time I had felt humiliated at this location. I thanked him and left. While in my car, I contacted Customer Service and was treated professionally and respectfully; the representative demonstrated a high level of understanding regarding my experience. I have been a loyal Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack customer for many years and have shopped at locations across the country. I have never experienced treatment like this elsewhere. Unfortunately, this incident marks the third time I have felt disrespected and humiliated at this specific store. On a prior occasion, I spoke with the store manager, Mr. Matthew, whose response I found to be dismissive and arrogant. I clearly stated at that time that I would no longer shop at this location, but unfortunately, I did not respect my decision and my boundaries. Given the seriousness of this incident, I am escalating this complaint to higher levels. The conduct of both the employee and the customers who felt empowered to intervene without any factual understanding of the situation was inappropriate and raises concerns of a potential hint of discriminatory behavior. I was informed that video footage with audio exists, which I welcome being reviewed. I will not shop at a store where I am made to feel unwelcome, disrespected, or singled out. I choose to spend my money where I am treated with the same dignity and respect afforded to everyone else.

They are NOT some generic, corporate outlet. They ARE a family-owned business with a wide selection and outstanding service. Ask for Doug if you're shopping for boots. He knows everything. My teen wanted a pair of cowboy books and I had no idea where to begin. I asked around and searched the internet but really, you need someone with expertise. We went a couple of other places and everyone we met was a new hire. At High Country we found people with deep experience. Doug took care of us. He had repaired boots for decades before moving to the sales side. He had thoughtful, first-hand insights about boot construction, durability, and repair. He patiently answered every question we had to make sure we found the right fit for what we needed. Can't wait to go back when my other kids are ready for a pair. They offer boots on a wide range of price points and styles. They can tell why things cost what they do and what is worth paying for. Everybody's feet are different and every boot maker is a little different so you really can't order online. If they pinch or chafe you're not going to end up wearing them no matter how cool or cute they look. Going into the shop let us get the right boot the first time around. They should last for decades. It's worth investing the time and money to do it right.

This is a review for Jo, but story time first…read more In the mid 90's my husband was gifted his grandfather's beautiful rodeo cowboy hat by his grandmother. He has always been sentimental about it, wearing it often, beating it up with wear. Over the years it got crustier and gained more of a patina as he reshaped it over and over again over our tea kettle. The crustier it became, the more he loved it. One day it went missing, and for months he lamented his loss until it was uncovered, completely flat, under a stack of winter blankets. Regardless of its condition he excitedly worked to reshape it, once again reviving it and bringing it fully back to life (to my surprise!) About a month later he came home from work to find our dog Pepper had completely mangled it, tearing off hunks of the crown as if she were peeling a tennis ball, her favorite pastime. Devastation doesn't cover the emotional state of this poor man holding his grandfather's hat with huge holes all over it. It was a complete loss. Over the past year or so I have hunted high and low for a similar vintage rodeo hat he could reshape and make his own- with zero luck. It was on my list of things to hunt for when we visited a friend in Denver, she sent us off to the Brass Armadillo to hunt through the vast array of antiques and vintage. He tried on many hats and not one felt right. On our last full day in Denver we decided to stop into Western/// and decided on an open crown hat in just the right hue. That's when we met Jo, who took her time shaping this brand new hat from an old photo of the destroyed one. She took her time understanding the importance of finally finding a good replacement for such a sentimental loss. I'd found a hat too, and by the time Jo was satisfied with shaping the first hat it was already past closing time. She apologized for holding up our evening, but continued taking her time shaping the second hat just how I wanted it. By the time we left my husband had also purchased a handsome retro Wrangler denim jacket, something he's not apt to do- he doesn't ever treat himself! He was completely blissed out on his new hat. Never once were we rushed or made to feel as though we held anyone up. We were treated kindly, allowed to roam a bit to browse the selection, and eventually released into the chilly evening so Jo and her associate could finish closing the store- over an hour past closing time. I have to admit, we felt like finding something appropriate was a long shot and were fully prepared to walk in and right back out. Neither one of us resonated with the pre formed styles offered, so purchasing a blank and having a craftsperson like Jo tease out a shape by hand was impressive to observe, and both of us wore our hats out proudly. Afterward, we ended up going out for drinks at a cowboy themed bar in Denver just to celebrate our new hats. Jo, we want to thank you for taking your time to recreate something so special to my husband. He's looking forward to beating it up and making new memories in it. Thank you especially for treating us so well and for your hospitality after hours, we really appreciate it! 10/10 recommend Western ///, especially if you want a hat- and make sure to have Jo shape it for you. Decades ago my husband was gifted his grandpa's gorgeous vintage rodeo cowboy hat by his grandma so it had sentimental value. He wore it ragged, reshaped it many times using a tea kettle in our kitchen, reviving it over and over again. When it went missing for months he was distraught thinking it was gone forever, only to find it crushed flat as a pancake under a pile of winter blankets. He once again revived his beloved hat loving the way all the abuse over the years had given it a unique patina and crustiness. Then he came home one day to a trail of torn apart hat. Our dog had made a meal of it. He was DEVASTATED. He again tried a revival but the damage was just too insurmountable. I've hunted high and low for a well fitting replacement with similar coloring and it has just not surfaced. On our trip from CA to visit a friend in Arvada, we popped into High Country Western Wear on Saturday night hoping to find a replacement cowboy hat, not really thinking we'd find it. He settled on a similarly colored open crown style (while I found a nice bright red for myself) and Jo went to work shaping from an old photo. She worked and worked to get the shaping and fit just right. She took her time getting the slope just right on the brim, and crafting the crown just right. Jo was phenomenal. She recreated a very decent copy of the original making my husband an extremely happy man. As she shaped mine he found a retro wrangler jacket he couldn't live without. We both love our new hats! I definitely recommend this shop, Jo stayed a whole hour to make sure we got the exact hats we envisioned and was kind the entire time.

It has something for just about anyone - jewelry, glassware, hats, purses, lots of gently used clothes, collectables of all kinds, odd, unique items, furniture, fossils, games, electronics, typewriters, magazines, comic books, and on and on. The great feature of this store is it's organized and not a dumping ground for old unwanted stuff. I looked through their vinyl records which were categorized alphabetically and unlike most antique stores where the majority of albums are '60s Country & Western has-beens, there were actually classic albums I wanted to buy. There are so many cool things at this place I can only explain it as a Meow Wolf where you can buy the cool things you see. Parking is right on the street in front and I encourage you to check it out.

Second, they have a lot of fun new and souvenir items, cute Denver shot glasses, funny greeting cards, postcards and other kitschy items. Third, it is a bar... and not just any bar. It is a fun bar with containers of moonshine named after 80's songs. My friend and I enjoyed a couple of mimosas while we were shopping. In addition to that, they have a DJ booth with music on several evenings. We also took pictures in an old photo booth. I left with a couple of cute greeting cards, and a fun flashy sequined bag that I took out 80's dancing that evening. I forgot to mention, they also sell records! As far as the store goes, it was expensive for a thrift store and most of the vintage items looked to be from about the '70s thru the early 2000s. The drinks weren't anything special and normal Denver prices. The staff was very stand offish but got the orders right. Heads up...they're a cashless bar which isn't very vintage of them. I most likely won't be back but if this is your thing and you want something downtown then check it out.
