There's parking and it's easy to stop by when you need something simple and don't want to weave thru the parking lot for a bigger store like Target. They do need to do better maintaining the parking lot as there's always litter there and trash strewn about.

As I was waiting at the cash register, I noticed a nice gold egg shaped basket that I Ended up getting, instead of the initial basket that I picked up. The lady at the register was VERY VERY RUDE and went back and forth with me about not getting a carriage when I first came in and because I wanted to replace the mini basket for the gold egg shaped basket. She said she was the only associate in the store and was upset because she would have to bring the mini basket back to its aisle. Since she made a big deal over something so small, I insisted that I would put the mini basket back in its aisle, which I did. This was UNPROFESSIONAL and UNNECESSARY!!

Much of the inventory rotates seasonally. Right now (February) they have gardening supplies such as raised planters, potting soil, pots and seeds. They usually have bird seed and other outdoor items as well. Area carpets are always in stock as are a mix of household storage items, cooking needs and cleaning products. Clothing options also rotate with the seasons so winter coats and mittens in the cold weather, swim suits and t-shirts in warm. Definitely the sort of stop you make to 'see what's in stock' while also being a reliable stop for jams and such. Staff are usually busy and helpful when asked. They share a large parking lot with other businesses and handicapped spots are located near the door. Sometimes the aisles are cluttered with lots of inventory, sometimes shelves are empty: especially when the seasonal items are turning over. Still, it's all nearly organized.

Yes, maybe the selection of them are not as good, but I was able to be flexible and go either a size higher or lower based on my need. As a savvy shopper, remember to check the dollar stores for deals on items...don't overpay at the big warehouse retailer if you can avoid it.....

I do feel though (not just in this store but all dollar types) that they're always stocking the place! There's always the one person moving boxes and stocking items but it feels as if no progress is ever done. They've also made it so they place boxes at the far end of the aisles making it impossible to maneuver your carriage around into the next aisle.

This dollar general is closest to my house and even though I only shop the weekly "household deals" the store is well stocked with many different types of items, is organized well, and the staff is pleasant.

This review will be my opinion on the Dollar General stores as a whole and not just a reflection on…read morethis location. I'm not a fan of the concept of "Dollar" General because in my opinion putting the word Dollar in your store name insinuates that it is in fact a "dollar store" and with Dollar General (as well as Family Dollar) this is simply not the case. In fact there are very few things that cost $1.00, if any. This location is convenient to my home and in a pinch I will stop in to grab something I need quick, but overall I try to avoid it. Not only are there few to no items that are $1.00 the items that are not $1.00 always seem to be overpriced in my opinion. The tape measure or dish towel that is $1.00 at Dollar Tree is of the exact same quality of the se items available at Dollar General, yet at Dollar General they are easily 3 to 5 times the price. When this specific location was a Benny's store a few years back I didn't mind paying a little extra to a local owned and family run business who was selling a decent quality product at a competitive price. This new model of faux dollar stores seems to be selling the same low quality items as the true dollar stores, except selling them for the prices of a higher quality item at a regular store. It's for this reason thst I do my best to avoid Dollar General (and Family Dollar) stores. Got the large caramel torani sauce for $8 and large coconut water 2L for $5. Also good selection of pots/pans and Tupperware. I've really been liking that they carry some Stanley cups now as well as lunch totes. Their glass Tupperware for packing lunches is way more affordable than Amazon as well.
