A friend says all the local stores are out of propane , where you exchange. I call a few places and yep, its July 4th weekend and everybody is out. I was told go to Demotte, and Tractor Supply will fill your propane tank. I go there and not only do they fill propane, the guy says , we price match on everything , including propane ( cause of Hicks gas) . Bonus. Tractor supply was nice and they're cheaper! Granted they are 10-15 min from the campgrd , but open lots more hrs. Ive used them in Rensselaer, so im familiar with them. Good place. I bought a few other things as well. More so than your average Dollar General. Most of the Dollar General stores I've been in tend to be a bit cluttered - I can't blame employees, they are setting up due to a corporate floor plan and there is usually more merchandise than space. Then you gave the shopper traffic added in - things can get messy. This one, seems stay a few steps ahead of that though. Store is organized. Employees and manager have always been pleasant and helpful. They also seem to have cleaning products and other products that I do not see at other Crown Point Dollar General stores in the town where I reside. There also always seems to be employees and/or the manager on the floor which, sadly, at other Dollar General stores is often not the case. In other DG stores I've noticed the employees are becoming more and more dependent on the self checkout kiosk. While I don't mind using the self checkout, that doesn't mean shut down registers and force employees into a self checkout. This DG, is not that way - at all. As I type this, I don't recall that they even have a self checkout - if they do, it isn't used much as there is always someone at the register including the manager. When the Turners created Dollar General stores - Customer Service was a top priority. This Dollar General carries on that priority.

The furniture is very nice and extremely reasonably priced. I found a couple of couches that I would have considered purchasing IF I wasn't 3 hours from home and IF I was driving a truck. There were men's Land's End shoes for $5 a pair. A great deal! In fact everything I saw was a very good deal. I've never seen a store like this before. A fun place to shop! If I lived nearer I would stop in frequently! We definitely don't have a store like this in Carmel where I live. I'll add that everything was well organized and prices were clearly marked. Last Chance Overstock sells the things that didn't sell at other stores. It's the Island of Misfit Merchandise, if you will. (Will you?) My children had a fun time sitting in all of the chairs and couches around the store. A big portion of the store is dedicated to furniture, and the store-people are 100% OK with you and your children sitting on every couch and lying on every bed. My kids wanted to find the most comfortable couch, and they chose the one with plush corduroy that had cup holders and a USB plug. They wanted to buy it, but we live many miles away, and also, there is no way I'm inviting a couch with cupholders and a USB plug into my home. Get bent, kids. You need to look at the products carefully, because some of the things are a little worse for the wear. But for the most part, most of the items I saw at Last Chance looked perfectly fine. I wouldn't come here to find something specific, because inventory changes frequently, but this is a good place to browse and find a treasure.
