THEY WRECKED MY CAR!…read more They were supposed to swap a transmission and additional parts (clutch, bearings, pressure plate and so many more) and they wrecked my car on a test drive. They hit something and the wheel went into the fender, tearing up the suspension, brake, and damage to the fender and front bumper. When I spoke to the technicians they all told me different stories on what happened. The owner is a liar (he said a ball joint broke and it caused the wheel to get into the fender while it was on the lift) and replaced the broken parts with the cheapest parts that they could find. He complained because my performance parts that they damaged were too expensive and bought the cheapest crap that now needs to be replaced. They "fixed" everything that was broken and He (the owner) told me it was running great. Picked the car up and it limped home, barely ran. Took it back and they were supposed to replace the transmission they put in with my old one because the one they put in was "bad", even though it wasn't. Went to get the car again after the owner told me it was running great. I go to pick it up and I requested that the owner rides with me. Sure enough, the car drove like shit. Goes back to the shop because "my original transmission is now bad." If you are keeping count, this is now two "bad transmissions." When I finally pick the car up, it drove like garbage. The tech that worked on my car said that they just didn't want to mess with my car anymore and never took the transmission out. This is verified because I paid close attention to the short throw shifter that was installed. I confronted the owner after the second test drive with him in the car and he repeatedly lied over and over, and then had the audacity to ask me for payment. Part two: When I originally took the car there, I had a bunch of parts that they were supposed to install, including detailed instructions on what to do. After I finally got the car back home, they didn't install half of the parts that they were supposed too. On top of that, my tan interior, including the headliner, is stained with greasy hand prints. They car came back home completely in disarray. They interior pieces where never put back together, hood upright is broken, headlight assembly is broken, front end is janky, the list goes on and on. Had to take the car the someone else and fix ALL of their mistakes. 100 percent crooks!

Had an arrangement with another guy set up and he bailed at the last minute. So I cold-called Hobbs and Dave, the owner, is who answered. When I explained the situation, he offered several solutions, including storing my trailer for free since I was in a bind. Who does that these days??? I don't live in Indy, but if I did I'd patronize Hobbs for any automotive or towing needs. Outstanding customer service, friendly owner and staff.

Turns out I needed not only my brakes but rotors replaced as well. Consequence for always having music turned up when driving so I never heard the warning "squeaks". That was at 9:30 this morning and by 2:30pm I was able to go pick it up. I travel a lot for work and was worried I would be without a vehicle for longer than I could afford to be. So I was extremely relieved when I was told I would have it back the same day. The service here is wonderful and I feel like I got a fair price for the work I needed done. I will be returning for any future work I need and would encourage others to go there as well.

My car sits in my garage during the winter so I needed some basic maintenance. When I dropped my car off, I let the guy at the desk know I wanted my oil changed, I wanted to find out and possibly repair what was causing the brake noise, top off fluids, and check both my engine and cabin air filters. I told him to give me a price for the cabin filter when he calls with the diagnosis of the brake noise, sense I've never changed that filter but I know they can be a little pricey. I dropped off in the morning and told the gentleman that I would be picking it up the next day, since I wouldn't get off work till late. The guy said no problem, it will be done tonight and waiting on you tomorrow. So as the day passes I receive no calls. I decide to call before they close to find out what happening. The guys says, yea it's done you can come get it. Wait what? What about asking me if I wanted to go forward with the brake repair. The guy says they changed the cabin filter, which I only asked for a price on it, and the oil. He said the brakes were fine and the engine air filter was clean. I say then what's the noise i hear? He said they didn't hear it and I would need to drive the car to recreate. The "noise" is easy to hear and consistent. So they obviously didn't test drive. The just did a brake inspection, which isn't exactly what I asked for. So I pick it up and the bill is 136.00. The cabin filter was 75 parts and labor, which I wouldn't have got if they had told me that, and a charge for brake inspection. The oil change was the standard amount I pay, but a little on the high end. I drive the mechanic around for 1 min and he says oh that's a warped rotor. 1: are you sure? All you did was guess from sound. 2: then why didn't you test drive it and call me with that diagnosis? Long story short, they didn't do what I asked, didn't communicate, and charged me for a service I only asked for a price on. Won't be going back.

They discovered some bad bushings on several control arms that prevented alignment from being performed completely, which is reasonable as it is an old car. However, instead of immediately calling to see if I wanted to authorize additional costs for parts and labor beyond the normal alignment, they went ahead and replaced a control arm at an additional cost of about $185. Later, they did finally call to see if I wanted to spend yet another $500 for more parts needed to fully align, which I declined, and they notified me of the $180 of extra work already performed. I would have declined the work they performed without my authorization because I normally can make such repairs myself. I have never before experienced a situation where added work was performed without prior notification and approval. And they did not offer any resolution when I objected to this having been done, leaving me no choice but to pay it.
