I was really worried about finding a legit dentist after moving to the area recently. Gale Ranch…read moreFamily Dental happens to be my closest dental office, and they were willing to let me pay out-of-pocket for an emergency extraction (my dental HMO isn't great.) I was treated with so much respect and dignity. They didn't shame me for having a lapse in dental coverage or poor coverage. The facility looks like a beautiful, luxe spa. Pro tip: their bathroom definitely has a fun vibe and sweet speakers if you need to take a moment to freshen up before you're called into your appointment! The out-of-pocket price for my exam, x-rays and extraction were quite fair. They are transparent about you're paying for and show you exactly what you'll pay before they perform anything. They also offer a discount/membership plan, but I haven't subscribed yet. Special thanks to Zach, who is super friendly and helped me understand everything before my extraction. Mina did a fantastic job helping me understand my x-rays before I met with Dr. Choi, who extracted my very angry tooth. Although no one enjoys such things, I must say that the whole experience far surpassed my expectations. Everyone I've met is so kind and helpful. A week after the extraction I was worried that I might have dry socket, (I didn't) but thankfully Dr. Choi was able to fit me in to follow-up and prescribe some antibiotic mouthwash to help with the pain and swelling as my gum healed. Weeks later, my extraction site is looking healthy and I have zero pain.

I've been going to Gale Ranch Dental for many years out of loyalty. It used to feel like a…read morepersonal, trustworthy neighborhood dental office. Unfortunately, it now feels more like you're a wallet and a number. The practice seems much more focused on growth, volume, and revenue. Every time I come in, I see new people and new doctors, and the personal, familiar feeling is gone. My most recent visit was especially disappointing. I was asked to sign three pages of paperwork focused almost entirely on cancellation policies, late fees, and additional charges. It felt less like patient care and more like, "How can we get more money out of you?" The cleaning was even more concerning. While the hygienist was taking my gum measurements, a doctor came in and interrupted the cleaning to examine me. The examination happened before the cleaning was complete, so the doctor was making an assessment without the lower gum measurements being taken. In my case, I have implants, crowns, and significant dental work along my lower gum line, which makes this particularly concerning. A second doctor came in shortly after, but the hygienist told him the examination had already been done. The lack of coordination was surprising. Once the doctor left, the hygienist quickly wrapped up. The lower gum measurements were never taken, the scraping was not done, and there was no polishing. A cleaning that normally takes me over an hour was finished in about 20 minutes. My concern is not the hygienist personally--she was pleasant. It's the lack of coordination and the rushed, high-volume approach. After years of loyalty, it's disappointing to see a practice that once felt personal and caring become so transactional. I hope Gale Ranch Dental doesn't lose sight of patient care while focusing on growth.

I am lucky that Doctor James DDS has been my dentist for 10+ years. He saved my teeth and, thus, my…read moreoverall health over the years. Let me start out by saying I am a germ phoebe that suffers from PTSD and Panic disorder (not the easiest of patients to have in the chair, lol) I arrived at my first appointment with significant repairs needed. Scary! We (yep, I was involved) created a lengthy treatment plan. They explained EVERY procedure and cost and presented alternative options. I asked questions, and they were answered. Not one person in the office ever made me feel ashamed or embarrassed about the state of my dental health or the rate I could afford to address the issues. The All In One Dental Innovations team's goal was to get me well. Their office offers all the bells and whistles. The doctors stay very well versed in new technology but are still not afraid to use old-school common sense problem-solving. When I had emergency dental needs, Doctor James has always been there for me. Him and his staff have always checked-in after all procedures (big or small, and when I say checked in, I mean the Drs. themselves called as well as Moose" Office staff personnel"). I have spent many hours in their dental chair, and everyone has been exceedingly kind and patient. I do not often post on Yelp, but my visit with the office this last week 02/11/2021 inspired me to sing their praises. As Doctor James has always said that he is all about function over vanity, but in my case, I have lived the better part of my life with a smile I would hide (and that is hard because I like to smile). I think Doctor James knew how important this was for me, so he made it happen. With all this COVID-19 stuff I was still nervous (more then usual), but once I saw all the extra precautions him and the staff had made with special filter system in each room, extra cleaning and masks and gloves on everyone, including testing the staff for IGg/IGm related to the COVID-19. I was all in and ready for the chair. For me this was very emotional, and Doctor James listened to my requests and just dove in, to be honest, I did not feel a thing and at no time did I feel anxious about the procedure, but anxious to see the amazing results. And as you can see the before and after, you know I shed a tear (or ten). Sorry to be so long winded, I just cannot say enough about him and his staff... in short, if you do not have a connection or feel as if you are just $$$ to your dentist, make a change and go see Doctor James and His staff of highly trained and skill Dentists and Assistance. You will sing his praise as I do. Thank you Doctor James and Staff

As a Workday workmate, I want to share my concerns about All in One Dental's billing practices…read moresince many of our coworkers are treated there. My husband received a crown several years ago with an initial quote of $1,000, which we paid in full. Later, they called claiming he owed an additional $700 because insurance didn't cover the "remaining" amount. After reading similar complaints in their reviews, we declined to pay this surprise bill. It appears this office has a pattern of billing insurance for treatments they consider "necessary" but that insurance companies reject as unnecessary. We switched dentists after this experience. Unfortunately, my husband's crown broke within just 4 years - much sooner than expected for quality dental work. Based on my research, premature crown failure typically happens due to poor materials or improper installation, not normal wear (and I can confirm there was no physical impact nor teeth grinding involved). I wanted to share this experience so you can make informed decisions about your dental care.

I will update this review as my dental procedure moves forward…read more My teeth are a mess from years of smoking (quite 7 months ago) and poor oral hygiene. I'm having multiple surgical extractions, a simple extraction, a few fillings and partial dentures done here. I wish I could give 10 stars so far. From the genuinely polite front desk girl to the equally polite and kind girl who took my ex rays to the so kind doctor and same with the gum doctor thank you. Next is my consultation with the oral surgeon. I got super lucky to be able to schedule him the next day due to a cancellation. Expect to wait a couple weeks or so normally. This is the #1 most important thing ever in my life and so far I'm so happy I found this place. I really appreciate the sacrifices these doctors made in their lives to this kind of work and do what they do for people everyday. I'm a pretty good judge of people and business and I'm almost certain this review will stay at 5 stars though out all my procedures. Thank you all! I can't wait to start living my life again.

They used my insurance without explaining the cost of anything. So when I show up to my specialist appointment I get smacked with a crazy copay just to see the doctor. They could have explained what my insurance was covering instead of just charging me the first time and letting my deal with full cost of the specialist appointment. That was the whole reason I was coming here. Waste of time and money.

I left this office feeling like my Dental-Cal insurance was never taken seriously…read more Before scheduling my appointment on July 27, I specifically called and asked whether my Dental-Cal insurance covered a root canal and crown and whether there would be any out-of-pocket charges. I wanted to know this before spending time on an appointment because I was trying to avoid unnecessary X-rays if the treatment wouldn't be fully covered and I was told yes everything was covered. After I arrived, they took a full set of X-rays and only then told me that my insurance would not cover the core buildup (foundation buildup) needed after the root canal and that I would have to pay approximately $800 out of pocket. They also began recommending a cleaning that my insurance did not cover, along with several other additional services that increased the cost. I felt this information could have been discussed before my appointment, especially since I had specifically asked about coverage beforehand. Instead, I spent time taking X-rays that I ultimately didn't need at this office. I decided to get a second opinion at UCSF Dental, where my Dental-Cal covered my treatment, including the root canal, core buildup, and crown. They also performed a thorough examination, identified cavities that were not mentioned during my visit to Heyday, and even quoted me a lower price for dental implants than what I was being asked to pay here for a single root canal procedure. Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone with Dental-Cal to carefully verify exactly what is covered before scheduling treatment. I wish I had gone to UCSF first, as it would have saved me time, unnecessary X-rays, and frustration. I truly feel they tricked me into coming to this appointment just to take advantage of my insurance plan.
