This is long overdue review mostly because I guess I am too lazy . My visits for teeth cleaning have ALWAYS been exceptional and SO comfortable. I'd go as far as saying that my visits to the hair salon hurt more! The office itself has a very residential decor and puts you right at ease. Every dental chair has a TV with all sorts of streaming services so you can watch whatever you want while you're waiting. The staff is super friendly and approachable. But the real reason every visit at Sparkle Dental has been so pleasant is Dr. Sharma. She has a very gentle, friendly, and earnest demeanor and puts you immediately at ease. Not only is she incredibly kind, she has an excellent bed side manner! I can't help but feel I am talking about my oral health with someone who is truly concerned about me and wellbeing. Every time I have had a dental cleaning in the past, particularly the deep cleanings (cuz I am not as good about flossing as I should be), I would be in some level of discomfort although never too bad. But with Dr. Sharma, other than a slight amount of strain to keep my mouth open it is unbelievably painless. I cannot believe how gentle she is, which I feel must be any product of exceptional skill. Every other dentist I ever visited always had some cavity they wanted to fill like almost every other visit. Dr. Sharma will inform me about spots she is worried about and wants me to work on but in about 5 or so years I have been going to Sparkle Dental, she has yet to feel compelled to do a filling on me. And it's not like my oral hygiene has gotten THAT much better. The facilities are clean and the staff is very friendly and professional, including the assistant, Frieda, Asma, and Peyton. Honest Review: I wanted to find a Dentist who did the actual teeth cleaning instead of a dental hygienist since the previous one I attended over the years was the latter and the experience was okay after cycling through 2 different dental hygienist with the Dentist coming in at tail end to make sure everything was okay. So, I looked on Yelp and found Sparkle Dental Office with very high ratings and reviews plus it was conveniently located by Downtown Livermore where there are renovated, new parking lots (they have 2 customer parking spaces available but they were filled, you can then park in other free spaces but be careful not to park in other business spaces or else you may get cited/towed) plus delicious eateries within walking distances of many different cuisines especially one that is literally downstairs lol. I called and spoke to Frieda over the phone to schedule my 1st appt back in February and everything went really well. Frieda was very nice, friendly and answered all my questions. My 1st dental appt @ 4pm included questionnaires, X-Rays and teeth cleaning (35-40mins). Dr. Sharma was wonderful as she paid close attention to my concerns and did not upsell anything. She was very understanding of my 1st and 2nd molars since I had a minor chip on the bottom-left like a half small triangle (I was advised that if I began to feel sensitivity/ache when eating to get it filled) and I have a slight gap on the bottom-right where I had a filling done after chipping a quarter of my tooth off from eating the bones of Korean BBQ ribs LOL (I was advised that even if the filling was removed and a new one replaced, the gap may still persist since it is at a sharp angle). Therefore, I let them be and they are still good fortunately without irritation. The reason for -3 stars was this recent 2nd dental appt cleaning which was yesterday @ 4pm. I waited about 10mins as they were setting up the station. Frieda was super amazing as always and offered me a mini bottled water since I sprinted from the parking lot and up 2x flights of stairs to make it on time. I was approached by the Dental Assistant who guided me to sit down then proceeded placing a disposable dental bib with those alligator clips around my neck to make sure it was attached. While I was given the dental safety glasses, I noticed that my dental bib was filled with scattered dotted specks of dried red-orange blood along the front then a small streak of dried blood same color on the right. I kindly requested the Dental Assistant for a new dental bib after explaining what I saw, she did not quite noticed the severity of it at first since she was more concerned about how it got there and told me that it usually comes from the rust of the mini alligator clips then proceeded to show me by clipping it onto the bib then dragging it a bit but no red-orange marks were made. It took her a little more while to get a new one from an open-front container in the upper glass cabinet before stating as quote: "Oh yeah, it did looked as though the other one was tarnished" before placing a new one on me. To be real honest, it would of been way better and more sanitary if she had just seen it, apologized for how filthy and unhygienic it was then given me a new one instead of trying to figure out how it gotten there. And mind you the Dental Assistant I had today and last time were young adults in their early 20s which is great and I am very supportive of them but it takes time for them to develop a greater sense of customer service and professionalism since it does not happen overnight. Dr. Sharma was ready to go at 4:15pm and finished my teeth cleaning in record time of 15mins by 4:30pm using only the dental drill, floss and brush; no dental scraper tools or dental picks used for getting those tougher harder to reach plague/tartar removal places. During the process, she was even able to chat with her Dental Assistant a couple times about personal things which I thought was cute until I found out everything was done and I was already rescheduling my next dental appt with Frieda then back in my vehicle at 4:35pm. The craziest thing was if 15mins wasn't already super rushed enough since they close at 5pm, there was a kid maybe no more than 9yrs old with his father who came in later than me to check-in around 4:05pm was seated 1st and checked out after as I was about to exit which meant that even the little kid had MORE teeth cleaning time than I did. Anyway, the whole process today felt really rushed so much that I still see slight visible plague/tartar on my teeth (I have some crowding in the front; make sure you get your wisdom teeth pulled early LOL). It is very unfortunate since I really wanted to be a loyal customer considering how convenient the location and parking was but after todays experience, I am going to reconsider and look elsewhere even after giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was possibly Friday and everyone wanted to get off early. read more

I have always been apprehensive about going to the dentist. This is mostly due to having a traumatic experience a few years back at the endodontist office. I will spare you the details. When I had to find a new dentist after moving from the East Bay, I found Dr. Sharma online with outstanding reviews. Unfortunately, she was an hour away but when I phoned the office to make an appointment, the receptionist put me at ease. She was friendly and professional so I decided it was worth the hour drive. On the day of my first appointment, I was very nervous. I wasn't looking forward to it at all. When I walked into the office, I was immediately greeted by a professional young lady. She checked me in and helped calm my nerves a little with her friendly conversation. I waited only a few minutes and then was called back for x-rays. I explained my nervous condition in my questionarie. The assistant was well aware of my situation and was so kind and accommodating with me. The x-rays when quick and it was painless. Then Dr. Sharma came it. I have to say I have never met a doctor like her. She is so kind and caring. She put me at ease immediately. I felt like she genuinely cares about her pat. It's simple. Service in 99% of places has gone downhill and great service is pretty much obsolete. However, there is an exceptions and it's Sparkle Dental in Livermore! Starting with Dr. Sharma, literally EVERYTHING she has said since day 1 has been literally spot on in all areas. I was there for a special reason meaning not tooth cleaning and standard stuff. Every step she mentioned has exactly taken place with no deviation! I fully trust this office with all of my dental needs and been ruined for all others! I visited this office for the first time last week and have been here twice - once for a new-patient cleaning/checkup and once for a root canal. Dr. Sharma (the dentist), and the staff are all so welcoming and kind. Dr. Sharma has a great bedside manner with a very bright and sunny disposition. Honestly, I didn't feel a thing during my root canal. Coming from someone who is terrified of any dental work! She truly cares about her patients. Through the simple gesture of calling on different occasions to check in on me, she reassured me with a sense of safety and confidence in her ability. During my root canal she kept checking on me to see if I am doing alright and to let me know what she was going to be doing next. So grateful to have found this dentist office. Dr. Sharma is very kind, patient and thorough. From my very first visit to follow ups appts each time her professionalism and gentle nature impresses me. I tend to be an anxious and nervous patient with terrible past experiences from other Dentists. However here at Sparkle Dental  Dr. Sharma eases my worries. She answers all my questions, provides lots of details and updates me along the process. Best of all she acknowledges  my feelings and encourages me throughout that I am doing a good job lol. This is what sold me. Other dentist have not been so understanding and nurturing. I highly recommend her services and will be returning as a happy client. Some suggestions to elevate the experience even more so is if they had some relaxing music playing in the background. There is a T.V. on ,but its volume is low and you cant see it while in procedure. I have No idea why this dental care has 5 stars reviews!!??? I have picked this dentist because I saw great reviews, reasonable price and it was near where I live. But I actually didn't like the dentist my experience with her was not that good unfortunately. 1. I had to wait a good amount of time. 2. I was bleeding a lot during the cleaning 3. The price they wanted to charge me wasn't the same as they told me over the phone. (They told me that was a misunderstanding. Walked-in and was greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. Honestly, it was nice to see the Dentist front house also greeting me in. Was taken to the back, and they could tell I was a little uneasy and tried to help me settle in as much as they could. Look, I know what you're thinking. "All new places with 5 stars and low amount of reviewers are either payed or biased." This is not the case with this dental office. There are only two employees at this location so far, but they are very kind people who will do their best not to cause any pain to you. I had three cavities filled here so far, and pretty much the only painful part is the needle injection to numb the area, but it's only slightly painful (it is very tolerable). They start off by letting you either listen to music or watch a show on Netflix, it's your choice, because there is a TV right in front of you so you can watch shows while you get your teeth worked on. First time I ever had this kind of experience at a dental office. They also offer you a bottle of water when you come in, the small one, but it's still a very nice gesture. There is also a coffee machine in the front in case you have caffeine addiction like someone I know. This dental office is my favorite one so far, and I would recommend people who are like me (afraid of pain) to come to this dental office and feel a calming wave of relaxation in knowing that the employees here truly do care about you. read more

I once came in for a small chip and was seen on the same day, almost immediately. During a cleaning I was told that I have a bad snoring problem, something no dentist has told me in my lifetime. Dr. Sharma explained all of her procedures clearly and frequently checked in during the process to make sure I was feeling okay. She was very thorough in asking about any discomfort and even though some cavities did not show up on my x-ray, she identified them during examination, made me feel reassured about a treatment plan in the future. She provided me with a mouth rinse to try for the future and was detailed in instructions about prevention especially since I'm an avid coffee drinker. There is Netflix/Roku with flatscreens in all of the dental chair areas, so the appointment flew by! This is my first ever yelp review (I think!) but I can't think of a more deserving business to support. It's going to be a little lengthy. I avoided going to a dentist for probably 5ish years because going to the dentist always gave me anxiety especially with the pain I associate with a dentist. I would look up dentists/their websites but it never seemed like it would be the right fit. I watched Sparkle Dental get really good reviews, mentioning that Dr. Sharma is calming and gentle with patients. I finally made an appointment via email (letting them know about my nervousness around going to the dentist) and Dr. Sharma was so understanding right from the initial email. I have had 3 or 4 appointments now and every single time I feel so comforted by Dr. Sharma and the rest of the staff. I was not surprised to hear I had cavities. I was nervous for the fillings. It was easier than I could've imagine and I know it's because Dr. Sharma really cares, listens, and watches you during to make sure you are okay. If you look at their website, they describe the values of Sparkle Dental, including integrity, compassion, and excellence, and Dr. Sharma and the staff truly embody these values! Finding the right dentist with whom you'll have a great rapport is not easy. I have a friend who highly recommended this clinic to me. After Dr. Sharma did an excellent job on my routine checkup and cleaning, I decided to come back for my dental filling. She makes sure that I feel comfortable during the whole process. She's very thorough yet gentle. She's very patient in explaining the best treatment options for me. I live in East Dublin where there are plenty of dental clinic closer to my home but I don't care driving few minutes more to Livermore. Their clinic is in the heart of downtown Livermore. There's a big parking space at the back of their building. Plenty of places within walking distance to hangout before or after your appointment. I like to use their website to book an appointment.
