Dr Nazari is extremely patient, very calm and caring. He was very gentle which is nice, I didn't feel like I was overwhelmed with so many equipments in my mouth. He provided me with options along with his own recommendation rather than forcing things on me. He saw my 3 year old son and was very honest. Although he can't see him at this time, he was honest in recommending that I take him to a pediatric dentist at this time. I visited this clinic for a routine dental cleaning and checkup, expecting it to be fully covered by my insurance--as it has been at multiple other dental offices across the Bay Area. However, I was unexpectedly charged over $150 out of pocket. What was especially frustrating is that the clinic performed additional services, including panoramic scans, without informing me that these were not covered under my insurance or disclosing the costs upfront. I only found out about the charges after the visit. Like many others, I trusted the positive reviews on Yelp, especially since I had just moved to the area and was looking for a new dentist. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to the expectations. Transparency about costs and insurance coverage is the bare minimum I expect from a dental provider. I was in last week to see Tithi for a cleaning and xrays. I despise xrays and was upfront about being stressed having to have them done. She was so amazing at talking me thru it all and making me comfortable. I am a challenging patient due to sensitivity issues and all of my requests were met with such a pleasant and "can do" attitude. I have so many little details that I need to make me feel comfortable enough to get thru the cleaning itself and Tithi went above and beyond to make me feel relaxed. I have had very condescending and resistant hygienists in the past who refuse to listen to my needs. Tithi was so great about explaining procedures and why things are done the way they are done in a very polite, compassionate, understanding and kind manner all the while making sure she listened to ME and MY needs first. The good: Front desk staff are very nice and efficient The dentist is very nice and seems very competent The dentist prescribed me a mouth wash that was extremely helpful and effective on my first visit Comfortable chairs and tv The bad: Both times, my experiences with the cleanings have not been good. The first time, I was in a lot of pain, so I thought it was a little unfair to judge the cleaning. But it felt terrible and the hygienist seemed inexperienced. Today, I was in no pain and my teeth are doing great, but the cleaning was still below par compared to a lifetime of other cleanings. I had numerous moments of discomfort, I got totally soaked, polish was left in my mouth, I got debris and water in my eyes, and the channel was set to a show where they were doing surgeries that I couldn't look away from without just closing my eyes. The hygienist today was more personal than my first visit, but still came off as a little rude and rushed at the end. I gave them a second try, but likely won't be back. read more

I did some extensive research in selecting a dentist. I was looking for a modern dentist with technology that would ease my anxiety of visiting the office. The staff is courteous and friendly. Hence why they get 1 star. I do not like to having unnecessary dental work done for them to line their pockets. I was over charged without any consult on why when called them in it all they could do is revert to the signed paper work. Beware! I had such a great experience at Granada Dental. I'm a new patient so it was my first time and I can't rave enough about them. The office was super nice and clean. (I apologize for forgetting their names), but the women at the front were very helpful and checked me in right away. Jenn and Elizabeth were awesome! Elizabeth was very gentle during my cleaning and went the extra mile for me; I have a permanent brace behind my bottom teeth that is not the easiest to get around, let alone painlessly, and that's exactly what she did. I didn't need to spend too much time with Dr Nazari (thankfully) but he was also very pleasant and did give me some great advice on some jaw joint pain I was having. The office itself is beautifully and tastefully decorated; you feel at home upon walking through the door. The lobby is like a living room; snazzy and comfy furniture and a large screen television. The exam areas are impressive. They host state of the art dental equipment. The most impressive for me was the x-ray machine that is hooked up to a monitor which is set up in front of the patient. When an x-ray is taken, a photo immediately appears on the screen. Jennifer performed the x-rays and she did a great job. She is a gem and it was fun chatting with her. The teeth cleaning was done by Dr. Nazari himself. He uses a powered cleaning tool. The process is very quick and I like that. He said cleaning appointments alone only take about thirty minutes...yay for that! My happy family will all be happy about that due to busy-as- bumble-bees schedules. As far as dentists, Dr. Nazari is highly educated, and offers input based on research. That is desirable. The cleanings by the hygienist, however, are less than stellar. The prior hygienist Shayna was exceptional. The hygienist Evon, practically drowned me while using the ultrasonic scaler. Should the pt have to tell the hygienist when to aspirate the water from his oral cavity? Or, is it better to wait until that pt is nearly drowned? You figure it would be standard practice and a given to aspirate fluids before they're overflowing. Look elsewhere. Need I say more. read more

I don't feel like many people enjoy going to the dentist. But I actually do enjoy going to the dentist here. I just want to get my teeth as good as possible... I really like all the people at the office, they're very friendly and easy to talk to. The dentist on site is always very helpful and explains everything. He filled my first two cavities which I remember really disliking the smell. And we're currently doing Invisalign which has been going great so far. My favorite People here are the ones who do the cleaning (I think they're called dental hygienists but I don't know). I enjoy talking to them hearing their opinions on teeth things, hearing about little tidbits of their life, etc. One time I was recommended a board game (the one where you wear those mouth opener's and try to describe words), it was a very funny conversation, I ended up buying the game, and we play it now at our house. Another 5 stars from me, been a patient here for a few years now since they were at the old office and now I will happily drive all the way from Castro Valley to Livermore still. I've had my share of horrible dental experiences in the past as a youth and young adult (btw I'm still young -hahaha) but I've always felt a sense of genuine care from Dr. Nazari and his staff! Yes, Shaina is the bomb! And there are some new faces there (to me at least) and they are just as pleasant and friendly! Today in particular I needed to have some work done that I have put off but really needed to get in, unfortunately I did not have a sitter so my 5 and 3 year olds had to come with me. I'm sure it would've been better to not bring them but hey I didn't want to put this off any more than I had done. Luckily they were behaved and not disruptive, I appreciate the staff not making me feel horrible for having them there. I moved to Livermore before Covid hit, and needed a local dentist. I took a chance on Granada Dental. I feel like I won the dentist Lotto. Great friendly staff to greet you and check you in. Very clean office. My dental Hygienists was just awesome. The ex-rays use the new high tech film, so no awful pinching while keeping your mouth shut. The Dr. was was really good at explaining each thing he was looking at, and giving advise what to keep and eye on. I appreciated the facts, on what needed to be done. Vs some Dentist that will try to upcharge and do needless extra work for allot of extra money. I also appreciated they looked up my insurance before my appt.
