It looked nice and pleasant at first with rocking chairs and friendly people. We thought it would be a good fit. She was excited at first with the restaurant atmosphere in the dining room and the dinner selections were good. Plenty of food and variety but later the quality went down hill. Many times they ran out of food or were served odd combinations. One time we observed a restaurant catering dinner because they ran out of food. On several occasions she fell in her room and there was blood on the carpet that was never cleaned. The staff had to be told to clean her filthy, stinky toilet. Many days when she returned from dinner she would find an employee in her room using her chair and her phone. Residents all had locking drawers for personal items and cash. Several times cash was stolen from her drawer. The family was charged extra money for weighing, showering, and transport to the dining area among other things. Towards the end there was very little contact with her from the staff her except for medication. When complaints were made to staff from the family regarding her being hungry or hurt, they would place the blame on the patient. Family members personally cleaned 2 bags of trash from her room. She was neglected to the point that she had her final fall and ended up dying shortly thereafter in the hospital. This wonderful deserved so much better.

Then we discovered Brightview Great Falls. It was just the right size--large enough to offer engaging activities and social opportunities, yet small enough to feel intimate and cozy. Six months into their stay, we couldn't be more pleased with our choice. The care they receive is my top priority, and I am confident that any medical issues are promptly addressed. Secondly, the facility's cleanliness is impeccable, which is crucial to me; even the bathrooms, which can quickly become messy, are consistently spotless. My third major concern was the staff, and they have exceeded my expectations. They are communicative, friendly, and genuinely dedicated to their roles. I've even formed genuine friendships with several staff members who are truly caring individuals. Is everything perfect? No, no place is. But any issues that arise are taken seriously and handled swiftly. Knowing what I know now, I would choose Brightview Great Falls all over again. They took her credit card number which she thought was like a "hold" on a hotel room that could be cancelled. She thought she would have time to think about the decision. She tried to contact the person she spoke with there a couple of days later and was told that person was on vacation until the following week. She waited until the following week and got the run around and was never able to talk to that person again because she was always "busy." A call to the bank a couple of weeks later and we discovered that they had in fact charged her credit card $3,500 deposit the day she had visited Brightview. Several attempts to request that the charge be reversed have been denied by them. These people are very good at selling to the elderly and taking advantage of people who are hard of hearing and under stress. They make the desperate senior citizen feel like they are trying to help them, when, in fact, it is all an act to get their money. I hope this post keeps someone else from having the same experience.
