To-die-for Baklava with strawberry ice cream.
Jeralyn L.

Out walking by the Pompano Pier, decided to try Falafel Beach Grill and delighted we did. From the get go, Ehab waited on us cheerfully and diligently. When not sure what to pick between two main choices, he made it simpler, greatly helping with the decision. The food was absolutely delicious and the desert was the perfect ending. So glad to finally try Falafel Beach Grill.

I have known the owner of this restaurant for almost 17 years and have always ranted and raved about his food. today's visit after many years did not disappoint. his middle Eastern cuisine is to die for made with love. the best pressed falafel sandwich I've ever eaten dipped in all the amazing sides. made me smile today

Our breakfast was a wonderful experience. Ambiance seating outside was a treat. Really enjoyed our French toast and omelette. The experience was enhanced by our server who was a delight and set the tone for the day ahead. No doubt we will return

Chocolate and pistachio crepe

This place is a tiny, super casual, mom-and-pop, Middle Eastern place in the beach block of Pompano Beach. Abd El Salam is a great chef who will adjust the menu to meet your expectations. He made a chocolate and pistachio crepe for me!

We were in Pompano and decided to grab some lunch by the beach. We parked in the lot behind and walked along the strip of restaurants. We hadn't been here before so we decided to try it. It's a small place with several tables inside and more on the outside sidewalk. As the doors were open, it was nice that they had blowing fans inside to stay cool. My husband ordered a tuna salad pita wrap. He said it wasn't middle eastern, but that the tuna itself was pretty good. There was lettuce inside the thin wrap. Some well done french fries came as a side. The fries were good, too. I got their hummus topped with meat. I'd asked for lamb assuming it would be pieces of meat, but it was well cooked gyro slices. I liked the creamy hummus, but some of the meat was way over cooked. Their pita is the very paper thin kind which is not my favorite. The server (who also was the tout standing outside to entice people to try the place) was funny -- dancing a bit like a belly dancer to entertain us. He is Egyptian. The chef/owner (?) is Jordanian-American. The menu has sandwiches to entrees. Depending on what you order, you can find a reasonably priced meal. I'm glad we came to try this place. Now we know.

Cute and very hospitable spot just steps away from the beach. The hosts are very attentive and the menu is pretty extensive with a lot of interesting Mediterranean options and some nice twists on traditional American plates. They serve all day breakfast and offer crepes for dessert. There's dedicated parking behind the restaurant so you don't have to fight beach goers for a spot - when you sit to eat, they'll validate your parking for 90 minutes which is more than enough time to enjoy your meal. I didn't even realize this place was back here but now that I know, I'll be coming back when I want a nice little brunch.

The ambiance, service and food were all perfect. We ordered the French crepes (new menu item) and they were delicious! Del, the chef came out to check in with us. He was kind and knowledgeable. Ally, our server was patient and the perfect server for us. I didn't try a smoothie, but they looked so good, might have to come back later for one, or. Pina colada served in a pineapple! For a location that is steps from the beach, the pricing was reasonable and we couldn't be happier with the experience overall. I think we may have to come back for lunch.

The first thing we noticed, which was a bit unexpected, was the decor. The ambiance was really nice and inviting. This is the type of restaurant where someone could host a party. The service was really good too. We received water almost immediately after being seated, and our server came by shortly after. The manager stopped by throughout our visit to provide recommendations, and he was really nice. It made the experience feel more personal. For our appetizer, we ordered the Baba Ghannouj, which complemented the pita bread really well. It was our first time having it, and we did not know what to expect, but it was great. It was really flavorful, and we finished it wanting more. For our entrees, we had the Lamb Chops and the Seafood Tagine. The lamb chops were great. It was not a huge portion, but the meat was flavorful and cooked well. The presentation was also really nice. The Seafood Tagine looked great, and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. Everything about the dish worked well together, and we felt that all the flavors complemented one another. There was a good harmony between the ingredients. For dessert, we ordered the Kunafa, which was another first for us. We had never had it before, but the description really sold us on it. It was really good. This is the kind of dessert that is best shared since it is a little heavy. Toward the end of our visit, a belly dancer came out to perform, and it was really exciting. La Vie is a great restaurant, and we will definitely return. We felt as though we got a true Mediterranean experience during our visit.

We started with batata harra and cheese bulak. Both were great! The potatoes in the batata harra were very well seasoned and flavorful. The cheese bulak was good but might be a little off putting if your not use to mintiness in your cheese. A belly dancer came out and went around to all the tables and really engaged with everyone. For our entrees we got chicken tagine and lamb chops. I must say the lamb chops were phenomenal. Perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. I definitely recommend getting them medium. All in all if you're looking for something different definitely go check it out!

Desert Heat in Suburban Florida…read more Coral Springs is not exactly known for culinary danger. It's polite. It's manicured. It behaves. And then you walk into Falafel Gourmet and suddenly you're not in suburbia anymore -- you're in a little Middle Eastern oasis hiding in plain sight on State Road 7. First thing that hits you? That glass case of baklava. Not two sad trays. Not corner-store pastry vibes. A full shimmering lineup of honey-soaked, pistachio-loaded, syrup-dripping architecture. It's the kind of display that makes you whisper, "I'll pretend I'm taking it home for later." You're not. You're eating it in the car. Then the homemade lemonade. Not powdered. Not lazy. Fresh. Bright. And just when you think you've figured it out -- there's that hint of ginger. Subtle heat. Like it knows something you don't. It cuts through the richness like a blade. One sip and you realize Florida doesn't deserve this level of refreshment. Now let's talk shawarma. Lamb. Chicken. We had both. And this is where things get serious. Juicy. Properly seasoned. Wrapped tight. No soggy collapse halfway through. No bland filler. Just meat that's been treated with respect and cooked like someone's grandmother might actually yell at them if they messed it up. If your shawarma needs sauce to survive, you've already failed. This one doesn't. The service? Warm. Real. No robotic upsell script. You feel like they actually want you there. Like they care whether you enjoyed it. And then the teas. There's a section of teas that will make you want to point randomly and say, "Surprise me." You start asking questions. You start trusting recommendations. You start planning a second visit before the first one is done. This isn't fast food. It's edible hospitality. We walked in curious. We walked out planning to come back tomorrow night. That's the only review metric that matters. Will I come back? Hell yes.

NEW FAMILY FAVORITE ALERT…read more My family and I love Mediterranean cuisine and this restaurant is officially a go-to. We started with several appetizers including spinach pies, falafel, and the Hommous sampler. The falafel was crisp and packed with flavor! I can't recommend the toum (garlic dip) enough. I would put this spread on anything! Another standout that we were all pleasantly surprised was their fries! These are the crispiest, most delicious side dish. Don't skip them. For dinner we had their moussaka and shish combo. The lamb, chicken, and kabobs were perfectly cooked- so flavorful and juicy! For dessert we had their bread pudding and Dubai chocolate brownie that came recommended from our waitress. Definitely enough to share and very decadent. Lastly, I want to compliment the service. Our drinks were always full, food came out altogether, and they took the time to explain various dishes and how they differ from the typical Mediterranean dishes. Our waitress was an absolute delight!

They are located right next to Publix, plenty of parking and the restaurant has a very cozy and beautiful indoor interior. The employees were very friendly and welcoming, our waiter explained the menu and gave us recommendations. We ordered few small items and everything was fresh and flavourful... but I had a very big surprise about my favourite Tabbouleh salad. I always order this salad in many different states and countries and I love it. This was the only time I couldn't eat it. It was just way too much green onion in it (really competing with parsley). Like tons and large crunchy pieces of green onion. I took the salad home hoping my husband would eat it but he said "This is green onion Tabbouleh, not parsley". So yeah, that's my only disappointment here. Maybe it was the only time they made it like that by accident.. or maybe that's their ratio recipe, I wasn't sure. The Lentil soup was delicious! Also my friend's dish - the lamb and roasted veggies were pretty good. I would love to come back and try another dishes, their famous tea and/or coffee.

It's an upscale restaurant that you can dine at for special occasions, with friends or family, with colleagues or even clients. It is always a super busy restaurant so you know the food is fresh. They do have a very good takeout business also. The portion size is very large, healthy and flavorful. I have been to this restaurant a few times and my favorite dish is the chicken platter. It comes with spinach, rice, rosemary, lemon potatoes, a side of tzatziki sauce, and a Greek salad. I love all of the sides that it comes with. Happy hour is offered daily until 6 o'clock and includes special prices on cocktails. I decided to dine with some clients and we ordered many delicious dishes. Everyone was happy with the dish that they ordered. We ordered grilled chicken platter, Gyro platter, Kefte platter, spinach pie, hummus with pita bread and seafood Paella. Happy hour is offered Monday through Friday until 6 p.m. throughout the restaurant, but since it was May, it was far too hot to sit outside. We had planned to return for dinner once the rest of our party arrived, but unfortunately the restaurant does not accept reservations or call-aheads. Our party consisted of six people, including two children and a high chair, so coordinating seating was a bit challenging. Although the hostesses were extremely friendly and accommodating, there was nothing they could do to hold a table while we waited for the rest of our group. My spouse and I decided to grab drinks elsewhere and return to Ethos once everyone was closer to arriving. Thankfully, when we returned, we were lucky enough to be seated right away in the small indoor dining area. Our server, Daniel, was excellent -- attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout the meal. This was our first time bringing the kids, so I took photos of the kids' menu, which had a really fun drawing board on the back that kept the older child entertained. As always, the food was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned enough for leftovers. My only suggestions would be to offer some food options during happy hour and to consider implementing reservations or call-ahead seating.
