Walked in with 2 people sitting inside. there was a girl at the bar that looked like she was putting the bottles away. I asked if the kitchen was still open and she said " let me check" , she took a good minute to come back out. I was 100% thinking she would say yes because attached below are the times and it says kitchen closes at 9:45pm. She comes back out and says kitchens closed. I was very shocked and disappointed. I told her the website says restaurant closes at 10:00pm and the kitchen closes at 9:45pm. She responded by saying " those are hours when we are slow" . To be it just sounded like " Tonight the kitchen is lazy and wants to close earlier than what our website says". I don't see how a business can be successful if you close 25 mins before your business hours on the website and make some money from walking in patrons like myself. I would suggest the owner can tell yelp/google to adjust the times when the restaurant is slow they close earlier. Went to the pizzeria/Italian restaurant next door and it was great. read more

Easter Brunch by the beach. Great location, as you would be near enough to take a nice stroll by the beach after. Food was decent, well priced, location was fabulous with neighboring other small restaurants on the side. Parking is available in the back for 90 min free, with choice of paying a meter charge after the 90 min. Make sure to tell the restaurant you are parked and they will provide you with instructions on how to get 90 min free. For a holiday, the restaurant was a little disorganized and not ready with a few items and information. As we went with the flow, things got better. Two of their youngest staff members were incredibly nice and friendly which made the experience a pleasant one. Great find in Pompano! We were on the lookout for a Middle Eastern restaurant a few days back and saw Mora on Yelp. The photos and reviews looked great so we instantly decided to head over and give it a go. Our expectations were high but Mora absolutely delivered. The food here is simply outstanding. We got an appetizer sampler which came with velvety hummus, smokey baba ganoush, salad, falafel and stuffed grape leaves. The waitress brought out fresh bread and hand mixed zaatar and olive oil for us, which was a nice touch. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time. I was super impressed with taste and quality of our dishes, especially of the hummus which was my all time favorite. Seriously! And I've had hummus all over the Middle East! Next up were the utterly delicious kebabs which came with flavorful rice and vegetables. The kebabs were beautifully grilled, well seasoned and came out very tender. Really loved them. The rice was quite good as well. For dessert we got a few of their cakes and the house made knafe which was served fresh out of the oven. Knafe is so decadent and delicious, but it's really rare to find it even in Middle Eastern restaurants. Mora not only had it but freshly baked it for us. We were in heaven. This dessert is a must try in my opinion. Our experience at Mora was absolutely excellent. The service was fast and friendly and I loved the food ans atmosphere. We will definitely return. read more

The service, wow, it wasn't the best throughout the meal. We weren't provided enough cutlery, enough plates, any water, the soft drinks weren't refilled until we asked twice. When we were ordering (and we got about 5 apps for the table in addition to the meals for the 4 of us) our waitress (long red hair) said "I hope I'm still working g when you are done ordering" and other "off" comments. Just uncomfortable. When it came time to tip I left $13 on a 98.99 bill, which was commensurate with the service. The waitress told my husband that 18% is customary. Then stood there looking at us until we left, then scuffed and "threw" plates into each other to indicate her displeasure. The food. See pics. Overall good experience on the taste. We were wandering around trying to figure out where to eat and ended up at Mora Grill. As a vegan eater it was pretty easy to figure out what to eat. We were given some pita and oil with spices. It was very tasty and I had to remind my husband he wasn't sitting alone at the table. I had the lentil soup...it was delicious. I loved that it was served with pita chips on the side. The added texture just put the flavor over the edge. My husband and I shared a salad. It was a salad. The feta was served on the side. The feta was little crumbles, so I was happy it was on the side. I had a vegetarian platter. It has babaganoush (it was okay) a salad (wish the pita wasn't in the salad because those were mushy), grape leaves (tasty, but I have decided I like those warm), falafal (it was okay, nothing out of this world, but not bad) and hummus (very good). My husband had a kabob mixed platter. He was happy that the meats were removed from the sticks already. Unfortunately we had just missed the belly dancer. She looked like she was very friendly and some of the tables still had tambourines on them, so it was interactive. Service was wonderful. The place is very clean and comfortable. Parking can be a little difficult, but that shouldn't be a deterrent. I wold definitely return. read more

I was walking around Las Olas with my wife shopping and looking for a place to eat. It was a mad house, an hour and a half wait for most of the restaurants. We left and headed to a Mexican restaurant, it ended up in a shady part of town and not to stop. This place came up on a Yelp search and we decided to give it a try. It was a little bit of a drive from ware we were, but turned out to be an excellent choice. Nice place located right by the beach. Friendly people, comfortable chairs, and the belly dance seemed extremely friendly. We missed her show, but she spent a nice amount of time talking the customers. We started with a Greek salad. We got it with the feta on the side. It was so fresh and so good. Then my wife got a bowl of lentil soup, it was served with fried pita bread chips. The soup was so good I was lucky my wife let me taste it. For dinner my wife had the mixed vegetable appetizer. It was hummas, musaka, grape leaves, and a pickled salad. I only tried the grape leaves and the musaka, and both were delicious. For me for dinner I had the mixed grill. It was a chicken kabob, a beef kabob and ground lamb kabob served with rice and vegetables. As good as this dish was, and it was real good, the best part was they removed the sticks from the kabob. We were to full for dessert, but we will definitely be eating here again. read more

This newly opened middle eastern restaurant is just steps away from the beach in Pompano. The building interior has been totally redone -- it is sparkling white and blue (even the ladies bathroom is brand new) reminding me of many a Greek restaurant. We were lucky to find parking right out front. You pay the meter on the corner using your plate number. There is also a lot across the street. I really liked the look of the interior -- tables and a bar, too -- plus they have outside tables as well. The weather was nice, but we chose to eat our lunch inside. They have a separate menu of reasonably priced lunch specials. But we were in the mood for different salads so ordered off the regular menu. We learned that the owner is Syrian after talking to the waitress about the correct pronunciation of gyro. It's said with a hard G in Syrian according to her. First came a basket of thin pita (Syrian style). We munched on some while waiting for our lunch. Anyhow, I ordered a Fatoush salad -- this one has no lettuce, but has crispy pieces of pita chips in it, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, etc., all topped with gyro meat. My salad came with tsatsiki sauce on the side for dipping in my gyro meat slices. My girlfriend ordered their felafel salad which was a regular salad topped with felafel balls and served with tahini sauce on the side. Both salads were quite good. And the service was very good, too. Part of their fourth star is their potential based on other menu items I'd like to try. The restaurant took him back we continue to order got our main courses lamb which was okay decent gyro was nice It was really thick not to my liking as for extra tzatziki sauce they came back with no tzatziki and said it was in there???? I asked for extra so don't understand why then ask for napkins took two times to get those but overall the service was okay. Then the bill came and they charge us for everything including the mussels not even a discount or a free drink horrible 49 years of living in Florida never had that happen to me.....so I would highly recommend this restaurant to NOT be visited The owner was called and decided not to help their customer. Have eaten here several times over a 2-week stay in the area. It has been wildly inconsistent, with food & serving ranging from "wow" to "meh". The high-flavor chicken kababs which were expertly prepared and excellent as was the bronzini fish (Mediterranean Sea bass). The "sautéed" hummus with gyro meat slices on top and the "meat pies" were interesting appetizer and practically a meal in their own right. Generally, you'd be wise to share and appetizer and even the entree since portion sizes are very generous. If you like to eat outside, there's usually plenty of available sidewalk tables unless you arrive after the dinner crush starts (after 6 pm). So why the "3 stars"? (1) Service has ranged from glacier-pace to great. On one occasion, our dinner arrived before our pre-dinner drinks. (2) Tonight, there was literally no one else eating outside and everything took 3X longer than in should, with numerous mistakes and "oh I forgot" along the way. We were the forgotten table. (3) The Falafel appetizers were served over-cooked (too crispy) and cold on arrival. When I asked they the item be taken off the bill, the owner/manager struggled but eventually did it. I was surprised because this should have been a no-discussion decision. (4) I've also learned that Mora Grill now has new management as of a few months ago so that may be contributing to the decline in food quality and service. Tip - there is free parking behind the Mora complex but remember to ask your server to validate the parking. read more

This is a nice restaurant that is close to the beach. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. Our server, Jennifer was welcoming, attentive and friendly. The food is good though not the best middle eastern food that I have had in south Florida. The lemonade was excellent and a great value at $2.50. 5/5. The Tzaktiki appetizer was good. I didn't care for the bread so it is the Lebanese kind flat and not fluffy. 4/5. The Greek salad was fresh and good. But it comes with the crumbled feta cheese. I prefer the chunks of feta cheese. 4/5 The octopus with onion was a bit small on the octopus for the price $18. It was good but we have way better octopus with bigger portions. 3/5 The gyro dinner for $15 was ok. It did not wow me. I usually love lamb gyro at other places with better prepared lamb gyro and better side choices. 3/5. The bill was a bit on the expensive side $58 without the tip for the type of food and quality since we have experienced much better middle eastern food in south florida at much better prices. This place was a great little find late on a Sunday evening. My flight was slightly delayed getting into Fort Lauderdale and I checked into the Fort Lauderdale Pompano Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa right up the road much later than expected. I was quite hungry, so I jumped on Yelp right away. Yelp showed that it closed at 10pm. It was 9:10pm and I was 10-15 minutes away. So, I called to make sure that I could be seated. You never know if certain restaurants will seat you within 45 minutes, etc of closing An extremely nice man named Jimmy answered the phone. He asked me to hold on and went to make sure. He can back on the phone and said, "come on over, we will be glad to have you! Just ask for Jimmy when you come in." Well, upon arrival, I could not have been treated better by Jimmy. He was very attentive, knowledgeable, but not over the top. I can't remember the name of the red wine that I ordered, but it was a red blend and it went well with the lamb. I have had better cuisine at a slightly lower price point than this before. However, the combination of location, convenience and the friendly staff, make it a solid choice! If I could give partial stars, I think it is a 4.25/5 I hope that Jimmy is paid well, because he is a huge asset to any restaurant! read more

This place is a strong 4 star place but definitely not 5. The restaurant is next to the beach and what is really nice about it, they have not only inside, but also outside seating. Our server was great and attentive the whole time. We ordered the tzatziki appetizer which was good, but not great, bit unsalty and i did not really taste any garlic flavor in it. The pita which came with it was a thin type of pita which is not my favorite. The octopus appetizer with onion tasted good but very small portion for 18$ and I have had better. The greek salad was good with crumbled feta cheese on it. I also had their lemonade which was delicious. Good experience but I do not think I would want to return. read more

This is a new Lebanese/Syrian restaurant focused on Mezze plates and Kebab-type stuff, with a comprehensive wine list including bottles and wine by the glass from Lebanon. It's in a heavily tourist area by the high-rises on the small strip of road in Pompano Beach at the end of Atlantic where it hits the water and A1A, where Briny Irish Pub and Razzleberry's Ice Cream is. Has outdoor dining and also a very attractive and modern dining room inside. I think they do a really nice job with the Middle Eastern appetizer stuff (hummus, etc), really good falafel, raw kibbe (nearly impossible to find in SoFL). I have not had a chance to try main dishes and kebabs yet since it was just my wife and I and we didn't want to eat anything too heavy, but I would recommend going as a group of folks and ordering a whole bunch of plates on the menu. Looking forward to coming back soon. On Saturdays they apparently have belly dancing starting at 7:30 PM so that could be a fun option. read more

If you ask for an extra pita bread, it's an extra charge. Given 1 thin paper napkin. "Steak" knives shred your steak or chicken rather cut your meat. Requested salt shaker that was clumped and useless. We found another salt shaker on the shelf behind our table, same thing. Their service was average but the food was good About a year or two ago, new owners came aboard and everything started to slide. Went there for the final time recently and I had the gyro platter lunch special. Used to be $9.99. Now the same "special" is $13.99. The gyro meat was flavorless though the rice was tasty. Unfortunately, I didn't order the meal for the rice. My girlfriend ordered the lunch special Char grilled chicken breast for $11.99. The 2 small pieces of chicken didn't seem to have any flavor to it but worst of all, the chicken was chewy. The undercooked chewy taste.
