Its full service, so you just have to show up, and your mat and props are ready to go. She also offers water, tea, and fruit. I have tried a majority of the teachers and classes. So if you are new to the studio or to yoga, then I highly recommend signing up for the one week beginner trial and trying as many classes as you can to get a feel for all the different classes and teachers. There are many teachers who I love and connect with, and to be honest their are some who's teaching styles don't speak to me. That's the beauty of this place and all the options. I did see someone leave a one star review that only took one class, and said that this place is only for beginners. I've been doing yoga for years, and have taken Flow and Power Flow classes at this studio with Faye, Chantal, and Virginia where they tried to guide you through more advanced poses/ techniques. Even in the gentle flow classes that I've taken with Faye and Darby, they give you the space to make it your own practice and go into more advanced techniques if you have them in your practice during their class. They always offer different options for everyone in class, based on their experience/ practice/ body. I also highly recommend taking breathwork with Elaine on Monday nights and the sound bath on Sunday nights, and give it a second chance if you're tried it once before. The first time, its hard to get out of your head, but once you can get present and go with the flow of what your body needs, its a great experience. I always feel lighter afterwards.

The Studio: You walk up the stairs and immediately feel like you are in an urban sanctuary above the city. The space is light, bright, and spacious, with warm tones, natural light, and a calm energy throughout. There are two yoga rooms, an infrared sauna room, changing rooms, and cubbies inside the practice space. The reception area includes complimentary tea, a water station, and a simple self check-in. Friendly staff are present if you need anything. The Class/Teacher (Shiva Flow at 12:30 p.m.): After a morning job, slipping into this midday class was an absolute treat! Michelle May personally welcomed me, made sure I had a tour, brought blocks and a strap to my mat, and introduced herself before we began. We started in Easy Pose, where she opened with philosophy on tapas, the internal fire we step into to burn away what no longer serves. She guided us to notice the breath, then the mind, simply observing. Three collective Oms to connect the room. And then we were off...halfway through Sun B, I realized there was no music, just Michelle's voice and the sound of the room breathing together. It was that powerful. This was a strong, continuous flow with options for Crow, Flying Crow, Flying Splits, and creative transitions, such as Tree to Extended Standing Split and Half Moon to Warrior 3 and back again. Michelle continually reminded us to tap into the fire, breathe, and let go. It was that "non-stop, can't stop, don't want to stop, ahhhh, feels so good" kind of yoga. When we finally came down to the mat, she offered hands on adjustments. In reclined Eagle, she anchored my shoulder and gently guided my crossed knees toward the floor (serious Divine release!). We closed the same way we began, seated, noticing the breath, noticing the mind, three collective Oms. This class was FIRE, but conscious fire. Practical Notes: Free parking lot across the street designated for Shiva Yoga Complimentary tea and water station Self check-in system Infrared sauna room Changing rooms and bathroom Cubbies inside the yoga room Friendly, welcoming staff After Effects: I left feeling calmer, clearer, lighter, and very curious about their Power Yoga class. If this was Shiva Flow, I can only imagine . Such an afternoon gift. I will be back!

It is clear Garth has worked hard to create a fun community. The instructors manage to guide you through a serious sweat while maintaining a vibe that says, we are all friends here, even while we are shaking in a holding pattern. The classes are perfectly timed and manicured for a true yoga experience rather than just a fitness class, you still get an intense workout that will rival the others. The real magic happens when they host a community potluck. There is nothing quite like sweating through a class and immediately bonding with a room full of people over who brought the best snack. It turns out that a shared love of yoga and free food is the ultimate recipe for making friends. Between the genuinely friendly team, the fantastic classes, and the promise of future snacks, it is impossible not to love this place.

I absolutely loved this training!…read more Crystal and Blaire of Light Leaders truly bring "light" to teaching youth yoga. Whether you have kids of your own or work with kids, it is a wonderful tool to help teach kids about their bodies, emotions, healing, health & wellness. Another great advantage to the program is that they bring in a well respected doctor in western medicine to explain about the physical benefits of the brain, nervous system and the overall health benefits of yoga. No "woo woo," just clear practical truths. Overall, the classes were fun, informative and inspiring. All other students who attended were amazing and already up to big things and doing good in the world. I didn't realize how kids really loooove to do yoga. Each youth yoga class we observed kids were lit up, smiling and excited. This practice is one of the biggest impacts one could make to support the growth of today's growing youth.

And even if you're not interested in becoming a yoga teacher, this training would be great for parents, child-care providers, and school teachers. The 3-day (Friday-Sunday) training was filled with lots of great information, including learning some age-appropraite games to play with kids, wonderful kundalini yoga kriyas (sets of exercises) and meditations, and simple breath work to help children focus and relax. Light Leader founders, Blaire & Crystal, are both supportive, friendly and helpful. They gave me lots of room to play and grow my practice while learning about the children we are trained to teach: ages 3-12 years. Shortly after graduating with Light Leaders, I got a job teaching the Sunday morning Children's Yoga class (for 6-12 year olds) at Golden Bridge Yoga in Hollywood! Thank you Blaire and Crystal for all your LOVE and support!! Keep growing, and training teachers so that we can reach all the future yogi's of the world!! Sat Nam!

Unfortunately, one employee, Mason, repeatedly spoke to me in a way I found rude and unprofessional during class, publicly "correcting" me despite my using modifications that other instructors had explicitly approved due to health reasons. To avoid further issues, I stopped taking his classes. Outside of class, I asked Mason a simple question about baked goods he sells at the studio, and he ignored me entirely--looking away and not responding. After that interaction, the environment noticeably shifted. Staff who had previously been friendly stopped acknowledging basic greetings, avoided eye contact, and treated me differently than other clients. Sophie also participated in this behavior. I was only attempting basic politeness and engagement related to the practice. The behavior felt deliberate and exclusionary, not incidental. For example, when I reached 300 classes at this studio, no one asked me to sign the barre--despite that milestone being clearly tracked in the system. I had signed at 100 classes previously and went on to complete 50 more classes after reaching 300, yet it was never acknowledged. I was consistently polite and respectful. The change in treatment was noticeable and unexplained. I stayed longer than I should have because I needed consistency while ill, but the passive-aggressive exclusion continued. As an unambiguous Black woman in a predominantly white space, this experience felt like microaggressive ostracization rather than a misunderstanding. I contacted ownership when I left, but no meaningful action was taken. I'm sharing my experience so others don't encounter this kind of treatment during a vulnerable time in their lives.

If you're looking for something that will both center and challenge you, this is the place. We absolutely love Janice and cannot recommend her enough! Noble in the sense that I have finally realized I can't keep beating up my body through hours of sitting and very recalcitrant bursts of exercise. Vain in that I had just moved to LA and wanted to get super hot. Because this is the town of the very beautiful person. Enter Janice. From the moment we did our intake call, I could tell that she knew exactly how I could address both my functional concerns (ex. chronic neck and back pain, anteverted shoulders, stiffness) while also addressing the more cosmetic goals I had (namely, toning and definition, especially of my core/abdomen). Our first session was a great mixture of me learning the reformer and her figuring out the best ways to motivate/teach me. I signed up for a twenty-pack and have greatly enjoyed every hour I get to spend with her. It's been only three months but I can feel my body changing. I am more aware of how I sit, how I stand, and how I move. I can identify the specific muscles I need to use when doing exercises and have learned to really enjoy core work, something you could not have paid me enough money in the world to pretend to like in the past. More than anything, Janice is great at helping you feel in control of your body and your overall wellness. There's no magic bullet to it. Just consistent exercise, being aware of how you are feeling, and intentionality. I look forward to training with her for many years to come.
