Salmon with diced potatoes and asparagus
Teresa B.

Amazing food, great atmosphere. It was so hard to decide what to order because everything on the menu sounded amazing! I finally decided to get the salmon and my sister got the shrimp fried rice. Both were superb! The salmon was crispy, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. My sister's plate was flavorful and had a perfect portion of sesame shrimp. Our server Christian was the best and on top of things right from the beginning. I am looking forward to visiting again and trying more dishes the next time I am in town.

Fish and Chips

Tried them out tonight ! The place was nice but not a fan of the food! We had the Fried veggies and spinach dip with homemade Pita Chips! It was so greasy! I had the fish and chips as did my son! Greasy and the fish was very salty! The slaw was pickled and not good to me.My daughter had the Salmon with roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts. She said it was good! My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich and chips and said really good. The waiter was really good and we tipped him well! If I went back I would not get anything fried! Maybe the Salmon or Burgers! Shrimp fried rice looked good on someone else's plate!

We attended the first wine and food tasting at Fairway Tavern last night and how impressed we were. The event took place in their back event room. It is themed like most of the restaurant with golf clubs and a country club vibe. There were five courses paired with wine. We stared with chicken liver pate with fig and it was excellent. Not a dish many are use to but it was amazing! From there we went on to a unique version of oyster Rockefeller with bacon, cream, and spinach. They were very good. From there, we had a coffee rub short rib. Now I'm not big on coffee but this was so rich and tasty I may start. Chef kiss. Next was a beautifully cooked pork tenderloin with a tasty sauce. We ended the five courses with a sorbet and shortbread cookie. This could have been better. Everything else was just so good but the dessert was a bit disappointing. Overall, the meal was fantastic. The chef took a lot of risks for a restaurant in Valdosta. We absolutely loved it. The wines were very well paired. We will be back for this experience. The service was on point. The owner, Chris, was there every step of the way. The GM, Megan, kept things going well. The server, Clair, is an absolute delight. They said they are considering doing this one a month. The cost is $65 per person. A very reasonable price for what you get. Make a reservation. You want to experience this!! Again...chef kiss. Cheers! No

Lobster roll and salad

Wanted to try somewhere new for our anniversary date night. We loved the overall feel of Fairway Tavern, making a reservation was super easy, and we had so much fun. Our waitress was super awesome, I wish I could remember her name to give her a shout out specifically. I had the lobster roll and a side salad and it was absolutely amazing! My husband had the lamb chops, they were kind of small and he wasn't an overly big fan of those but loved the rest of his meal. We also had the spinach dip appetizer with fresh pita chips and it was also amazing!

Nothing but good vibes...Food here was pretty good, although the scrambalaya could've used some chopped bell peppers, onions, and maybe some garlic-to give it that flavorful color it was missing. The shrimp was nicely cooked and the smoked cheesy grits on the side were amazing. Overall, it was a good time and service was great¡

My first time coming to this establishment, I read some good reviews and some bad reviews and decided to give it a try. I ordered the French toast and grits and my girlfriend ordered Porkbelly Cornbread with the cinnamon roll. The waitress came back to the table saying they didn't have grits and it would take 45 to an hour for the grits(The table behind us also ordered grits). How are you in South Georgia and running out of grits!!! Also the simplest and fastest thing to cook in the kitchen. I went with the potatoes instead, they were undercooked. The French Toast, did not taste like french toast!! You can taste the food from other meals on the bread. The Porkbelly Cornbread was good but the greens still had stems in them and both eggs weren't the same. I gave to a two star because of the cinnamon roll!

This is what a true falafel suppose to look like when cooked! Not half way cooked.

Location is fine, service is good, food well not so much. In my second visit to this restaurant they still disappointed with making food that did not lives up to the description. This time it was falafel. Traditional Arabic dish. I was excited to order it, because it has been some time since I had some. What I ended up was cooked outside and raw inside. I called, spoke to the owner, and aside from him cutting me off over the phone, he failed to actively listen. He seemed to know exactly how falafel is suppose to be, which is humorous. The tone eventually in his voice was annoyed and he no longer wanted to hear how wrong this food was. I decided that it was no longer necessary for me to continue the conversation, so I told him just that. So in closing, if want authentic falafel, don't go there. The owner needs to learn to listen and lose the attitude. If the owner needs to continue to make dishes from other cultures to present to customers, read up on that culture, and learn how it is prepared and cook as it is done.

Nice atmosphere. The French dip was really good. The time waiting for food after we ordered was unacceptable.

Hug In A Mug Coffee

Hug in a Mug? More Like Hug in a Mess. I genuinely wanted to love this place based on the name…read morealone, but unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing coffee shop experiences I've ever had. From the coffee to the customer service to the overall cleanliness, everything fell far below expectations. Let's start with the coffee, or lack thereof. I ordered a vanilla latte, and my friend ordered a caramel macchiato. Both drinks were essentially room-temperature milk with barely a hint of coffee or flavor. It was so unpleasant that we ended up throwing both drinks away. The pecan roll we ordered didn't fare much better. After being placed into a styrofoam container, it was microwaved right in front of me. IN THE STYROFOAM. The result? A health hazard, plus a melted, chewy, overly gooey mess that was completely inedible. The service was equally lackluster. The staff seemed visibly annoyed to take our order, and there was clear confusion about who would make our drinks. One employee disappeared for several minutes while the other, who had been doing nothing, finally stepped in to make our coffees, after a not-so-friendly exchanging of words about who would make it between the co-workers. To top it off, I watched another employee leave ice cream out to melt on the counter for at least ten minutes in what was an uncomfortably hot space. Speaking of the space... it's in rough shape. The interior smelled of sour milk, ice cream, and garbage, likely exacerbated by the heat. The outdoor patio, the only seating option, is no better. Tables are sticky and unclean, fans are missing blades (with broken pieces piled nearby), and the entire area looks neglected and unkempt. It's clear there hasn't been any effort to maintain the space. To give credit where it's due, someone in our group ordered a strawberry Italian ice, and they said it was "fine." But for everything else we tried, it was a complete waste of money and time. I rarely write negative reviews, but this place needs serious improvements across the board. Between the lackluster coffee, poor service, and the overall unsanitary conditions, I cannot recommend Hug in a Mug to anyone, and I certainly won't be back.

We were on our way to Tennessee and saw this place on a billboard. Stopped in and it was fantastic!…read more Our first time through we ordered a waffle sandwich, super delicious. We also got lattes. Their coffee is really really good. The inside is small but it's basically order and go and they have a drive through. They have some seating outside. It's a great stop in and grab some coffee. We stopped in twice because we just enjoyed the coffee so much. It has a more chocolatey taste in my opinion. Try it out! Cheers!
