I am an attorney and have been taking my clothes to Fairlane Cleaners at Terra Nova Plaza for years. I take all my shirts, suits, slacks and ties for laundry and dry-cleaning services. I have also taken bedspreads, comforters and jackets. I will only take my Tommy Bahama shirts to Fairlane. Ellie the owner is one of the nicest ladies I have met over the years. All her employees, including her son, are personable and a pleasure to work with. I will not take my clothing to any other cleaners. I have to look sharp, and Ellie helps me do so. Amazing! A very important part of any business is customer service. Every single time anybody in my family has gone in to this Fairlane, we have been treated with respect. Eli, the owner, is a thoughtful and soft spoken person with whom we have had only exemplary interactions. We have cleaned a various of items, but mostly uniforms. They come back impeccable! They are always ready when promised. There has not been a wait to retrieve them. My son needs to go in twice a week and Eli has taken care of him especially well. It is extremely important that what he brings is gets cleaned and pressed with the utmost of attention - his job depends upon it. Wow, my experience couldn't have been any different. These folks are terrific. The staff is very friendly and competent (okay, to be honest there's one gal I'm not so sure about but I only rarely deal with her). It's true that they require you to pay for your dry cleaning up front which bothered me at first. However, I've noticed that it does help keep their cost down and quality up which definitely works for me. I'm not saying that I've never had any problems - I don't think you can say that about any dry cleaner. But one of the things I like the most about them is how they (and particularly the owner) takes care of problems when they do come up. In what became my defining experience with them, one of their employees scorched several brand new (and very expensive) white dress shirts and then presented them with "we're sorry but we tried to get the stain out..." tags on them. When I picked them up I was furious and determined to cut a few layers of skin off the owner when I got a hold of him (not to mention have him pay the $150 cost of each damaged shirt). When I met with Bob (the owner) he apologized for the problem, said he would do whatever it took to make me happy, and asked me come back the next day with receipts or information about where I'd purchased the shirts. I arrived the next day fully expecting that he would be writing out a nearly $700 check only to find the shirts waiting for me - in perfect condition. Bob again apologized, explained the problem and what they had done to resolve it, told me that there would be no charge, and even gave me credit toward their "frequent cleaner" discount. I just moved to the area and decided to try out this place..bad decision. The young lady who works there is very rude and slow. My husband dropped off the clothes and when the older lady said he had to pay up front he said he would come back because we had a coupon at home, but she insisted that he could pay at pick up and use the coupon then. At pick up no one was at the front and we waited for 10 minutes before the young lady finally came out. Then is took her another 20 minutes to locate the clothes.. no apologies. And of course when she gave the total and when we tried to use the coupon she said that we could use it and being incompetent did not know how to adjust the system. I'll just drive to mission valley in my old neighborhood and use the cleaners there, the customer service is worth the drive. read more

I decided to use this Fairlance cleaners after I moved down to Chula Vista from Clairemont. I always used the one in Clairemont and never had a problem with them. Well, bad idea. It wasn't the same. I was treated differently. As all of the other reviews I could see that everyone has had the same contact with the same people and we were all treated poorly. I came in here to have a bridesmaid dress pressed. It wasn't done on time and I had to come back later on in the day to retrieve it. The young woman didn't even put it in a long bag (because it was floor length). She told me they were out of them. She just stuck one of the shorter bags on it. I asked her if she could put another bag coming up from underneath and tape it or staple it to the other bag. And she looked at me like I was crazy. I didn't want anything to happen to the bottom. She did it to say the least, but I had to ask her twice. The second time I came in I had a couple of sweaters and a nice top that needed some sewing done to it. Again, I had to deal with the younger woman. She wasn't "as" nice as the first time. She seemingly went through every single garment I had and said this couldn't be dry cleaned and that couldn't be dry cleaned. I told her that in fact I had these items dry cleaned before and it was never a problem. She said "no, we don't do that." Whatever. We come across the item I needed to be sewn and she told me they couldn't do that either. I said "Well, are you the seamstress?" and she says "no." And I say " How do you know then?" She says "Because, we can't do it." Rather than asking for the seamstress to come over and give me her suggestions, she just shrugged. After that I told her "Well, I'd rather not have to come in here anymore because you have been short with me and this isn't the first time I've had your attitude. I am taking my business elsewhere." Which I did. I came back up to Clairemont location I had always used and they had no problem with any of my garments. Knowing this and reading other reviews I feel compelled to say I am glad I didn't have the seamstress sew my top and have it messed up since she can't tell one leg from the other. read more

Dont recommend this place for people in the military. Had to have them redo my uniforms 3 times and it still came out half assed looking.

Worst dry cleaners ever! They messed our white shirt and did not admit to it. They said it came in like that! Wow!!! What a cheap shot. I was sick to my stomach when they tried blaming me for bringing in a damaged shirt to dry clean just so that I could get a free shirt out of it. Who would do that? I attempted to talk to the manager twice but the manager is always out of town. Hmmm. Anyway, I'm never coming here again. read more

Worse customer service ever!!! The employees have no idea what they are doing and your clothes are not cleaned properly. Really how hard is it to clean a couple of dress shirts?? These are the cleaners that service all All City Drycleaning services which picks up and delivers dry-cleaning from your home. They do a terrible job and your clothes come back barely cleaned. I don't think they treat the important parts, like collars or pits, at all and at least half the time the ironing is done badly. read more

This is a very convenient and wonderful dry cleaner. They have taken all my dresses and my husbands suits in and we have never found an issue. We have probably brought in about 40 shirts and pants in and none of them have had stains or issues. She also does tailoring for a decent price than other places around this area. I too just moved to the area and tried out Fairlane for alterations. I brought in a pair of jeans to have shortened. I told the seamstress at least five times that my legs are different lengths so please pin accordingly. She didn't measure each leg but I figured she was the professional and she new what she was doing. After a week turn-around I picked up my jeans. After trying them on the legs were totally wrong. I took them back and she said she would fix, but for an additional fee. I argued i shouldn't have to pay for her mistake. They fixed my jeans at no cost. Since I didn't know of any other place for alterations I made the mistake of bringing in another pair of jeans for hemming. She remembered me and marked each leg. We discussed the type of stitching and when I left I felt we were on the same page...Not. When i got my jeans they were hemmed the complete opposite of was discussed. She doesn't take notes and seems to do what she wants, not listening to the customer. Shame on me for going back a second time. Now I have to pay another seamstress to undo what she tried to do! read more
