Always a pleasant stay here and I never have any issues. It was quite embarrassing, but last year I managed to lock myself out of my room because I was messing around, unnecessarily, with that hook thing at the top of the door that lets the door stay cracked if there are two people in the room and one leaves. Anyway, there was only me and I locked myself out, and the Hampton Inn staff was really nice about letting me back in (with an unfolded hanger-type device one of their people had to carefully slip through the crack between the door and the wall, in order to un-flip the switch I'd flipped; god, this was so stupid, and I felt ridiculous the whole time this was being worked on). They were friendly about it and acted as though I wasn't a huge fool for locking myself out in such a weird manner. The breakfast buffet is pretty comprehensive for a relatively small hotel. They offer a solid selection of cold cereals, plus waffles, eggs, bagels, etc. There's also a pool and a fitness room. I never see these getting much use, so they're in great condition and there's a decent chance you'll have the rooms to yourself if you decide to use them. When I drive out to visit family in Ohio, there's never a question about where I'll stop half-way; Hampton Inn, Washington PA, is always the way to go.

If you are planning an event, I highly encourage you to read our story! We threw the team a massive curveball by calling them at the absolute last minute--on June 4th, just 22 days before our wedding date. Despite the tight timeline, they immediately connected us with Gretchen, the Director of Sales, and the magic began. Planning in Just Two Weeks Gretchen quickly scheduled a meeting to hear what we had in mind, and fortunately, they had a beautiful small banquet room available. During that initial meeting, we also met Justin, the Banquet Manager, who was right there alongside Gretchen to answer every single question that popped up. Gretchen took the time to truly listen to our story and understand the vibe of our guest list. She effortlessly walked us through: Picking out the perfect menu Creating a seamless timeline for the big day Keeping us updated constantly while checking in to see if we needed anything Friday, the day before the BIG DAY! We and several of our guests checked in for the entire weekend, and we were welcomed with open arms. The entire staff congratulated us and constantly offered their assistance. After settling into our rooms, we headed to the pool area--which was incredibly serene, relaxing, and the perfect spot to unwind with our guests. While poolside, John from Maintenance introduced himself. Every single time he saw us throughout the weekend, his jovial personality and 5-star customer service made us feel like the ultimate guests of honor. The Big Day: "The Best Wedding Food Ever!" Suddenly, the big day was here! Gretchen and Taylor were waiting for us right in the event room, ready to jump in and assist with any last-minute details. Our guests could not stop talking about how "just perfect" everything was, emphasizing the top-tier hospitality and the incredible buffet. To quote our guests directly: "This is the BEST WEDDING FOOD EVER!!!" A huge shout-out to Tammy - our personal bartender for the evening and the Chef and the kitchen team! The presentation was an absolute jaw-dropper, and the food was incredibly delicious. We chose the Cookout Buffet and added chicken tenders and french fries for the kids, which was a massive hit. Thank You, DoubleTree Team! We fully understand why couples usually plan their weddings a year or two in advance. However, with only two weeks' notice, the DoubleTree team created a beautiful wedding day that went way beyond anything I ever expected or imagined. An enormous thank you to Gretchen, Taylor, Tammy, John, and Justin. Thank you for all of your thoughtful, creative, and hard work to help us create a weekend we will cherish forever! We will see you next year... weekend of June 27th 2027 for our first year anniversary party!!

I dislike chain hotels, restaurant's, etc. I was hesitant of staying here after reading numerous reviews for half a dozen sites. David B left a review on 8/8/17 He nailed it! If you are looking for the latest, greatest, cutting edge hotel then keep looking. If Beautiful, historic, sexy, badass history and architecture are something you dig then this Hotel and local buildings are for you. Was the elevator the fastest? No. Was there a coffee maker? No. A Bidet? No. Now, Were the windows drafty? Yes. Was the bed comfortable? Yes. The staff was friendly and accommodating and knowledgeable of some of the buildings history. Chris Bourbakis the General Manager offered and gave me a tour of the building and answered questions I had. The artwork done by the late Malcolm Parcell in the Pioneer room takes one back to before the automobile ruled as the dominate mode of transportation. The artwork Parcell has graced us with I find mesmerizing. I never knew of him until my visit. The steps where JFK Spoke in the little dome ceilinged room shows age but still I found beautiful. The basement that once hosted a prohibition time speak easy has some of the nicest wood work and stain glass I have ever seen. It is an wonderful, old, sexy building full of history and offers a window into a vibrant history of this little part of our Country for those who care to take a look. Kudos to Kyrk Pyros who saw a gem needing to be polished and or resurrected and not lost to time. I will be back. Cheers, Bobby B

I…read moreshould have known something was wrong when I was informed that I needed to give three days notice if canceling and would forfeit an overpriced night's stay ($257/night for one person) if I canceled within that window. The lobby was grand and historic, but the building was nearly silent when I entered. Not a soul in sight. Now I understand why. I was given a third floor room that was the furthest from the elevator, in a poorly lit, dingey, slightly scary hallway that had years of re-painting over old paint. The room was sparse, only one chair, not a table to work from, or lights by the bed or even a telephone. The cable television kept losing signal because the internet was unstable. I had to check my email seated from the bed. The bathroom didn't have soap, to wash hands, and the sink was the tiniest sink imaginable. There wasn't any counter space in the bathroom to put toiletries on and the bath gel in the shower was empty. The only soap to wash hands with or to use in the shower was a small jar of complimentary bath gel. The bath towels were two hand towels. The flooring in the room had recently been refinished, but was so shoddily done that it was uneven as it met the door to the bathroom. The staff were uninformed and incredibly rude. I had to ask for ice, because there wasn't a refrigerator, and when I asked to borrow a proper glass wine glass, the attendant suggested that I might steal it. When I asked her about local places to eat (there isn't a restaurant in the hotel), she said she didn't know about the local restaurants because she wasn't from there. The morning crew were even worse. Such a disappointment for a hotel with a historic past and a presence deserving of much better care.

Either as Motel 6 or Rodeway Inn, I never had a problem. My stay this time began well enough; the room, while I wouldn't eat off the floor, was clean. The bed linens, while stippled with a few cigarette burns, were clean as well. Ditto the towels. All bathroom fixtures were operating properly, so I had no complaints. My problems began when my sister called to extend my stay. Not only was it nearly impossible to contact any of the staff (I had to walk to the office from the high 400 rooms only to find no one there. There were 2 pieces of paper taped to the COVID safety window with a number to call if no staff was available, which I then provided for my sister.), when she finally did get in contact with someone they were very rude, hanging up on her, then not answering when she called back. She called the number I gave her and finally managed to make arrangements for my extension. She was quoted a price of $65 per evening, for 2 evenings, which she agreed to. Total price, with tax, $144.30. (I know, the math didn't add up for me either.) When she checked her account online to see that charges were deducted, she was surprised to discover that $216.45 was removed. (The math is really off now.) She again called and was basically brushed off. She was told that she would be sent an email explaining all charges, which she has yet receive. (It is possible the individual was busy and couldn't immediately address her concerns.) Later in the day, after all transactions should have been concluded, an additional $7 was removed from her account. (Further mathematical discrepancies.) She again attempted to contact someone to correct the problem without success. She contacted Rodeway Inn customer service and the woman was rude and informed her that she couldn't help her. She then contacted Choice Hotels customer service, and lo and behold, it was the same woman with the same inability to help in any way. I'd hate to think anything fraudulent was being perpetrated, but unless the situation is remedied satisfactorily, I'll have no choice. What bothers me the most is how upset this has made my sister. All she wanted to do was to help me through a rough patch and her reward was anxiety and possible theft. In any event, if given the opportunity to stay at the Rodeway Inn in Washington, PA, run, don't walk, to any other motel in the area. This experience has soured me completely. *No accusations are being made. Merely an exploration of possibilities, negative as they may be. Hopefully a positive resolution will be found, and it's nothing more than an unfortunate misunderstanding.
