This isn't a rant, this is a WARNING backed with FACTS and documentation. This hotel didn't earn 3.5 STARS on Google for being a great place to stay, go READ THE OTHER reviews. ****DAY-1**** On Friday, April 17th, my family checked into ROOM 205 at the Marriott SpringHill Suites located at 16 Trinity Point Dr, Washington, PA 15301. First thing we noticed, we were given a handicapped room, and NO ONE in my family is handicapped, and we didn't request it, but ok, maybe the other rooms were filled. ----------- When we went up to the room, we immediately noticed that it was hot and there was no A/C, so we attempted to turn on the A/C. After about 10 mins of no success, we called the front desk and asked them to come up and fix the issue. The gentleman came into the room, looked at the thermostat on the wall, and then checked the unit near the window. He said he would be back and returned a few mins later and changed the batteries in the wall thermostat, and it finally came on. However, during the night, the unit was still shutting OFF completely, not due to it reaching the correct temperature, it was more of a power outage. ------------ **NOTE on Hotels Condition***The swimming pool area is "CLOSED for construction", this information should ALWAYS be disclosed at the time of reservation because this is important to some guests, especially when you're traveling with children who enjoy swimming. The stairwells were dirty and the ice machine on the 2nd floor was broken. ---------- ****DAY-2**** We spent the majority of the day at the Pitt Jam basketball event, so we didn't get back into our hotel room until almost 9pm. Once again, the AC WAS NOT WORKING! The wall display said "LOW BATTERY," even though the batteries were just changed the day before, so that tells me we either got used batteries from another room or extremely CHEAP batteries were used. We called the front desk AGAIN and informed them that the A/C was not working. I saw the maintenance guy I was speaking with in the hallway leaving another guest's room and asked him to come with me to take a look. I explained to him what happened, and he stated that he "wasn't surprised." A few mins later, the middle eastern gentleman that "changed" out batteries the day before came back to the room. I informed him that the wall unit said "low battery," and he said that wasn't the cause. He left and did something, and once again, the unit came back on. My wife and son were already in the bed and trying to sleep, so I didn't insist on a new room because we'd already had a long day. ----------- ****NOTE*** The A/C completely SHUT OFF again during the night. I woke up at 3:47am drenched in sweat and pissed off that this was happening again. I also noticed my laptop, which had been on the charger the entire time playing sleep music, had DIED. The OUTLET was DEAD! My son told me in the morning that his PHONE WAS DEAD, it was plugged in the entire night. ------------- ****BOTTOM LINE The ENTIRE ROOM LOST POWER at some point, and nothing worked!! I informed the GM of what had occurred. She apologized and said that since we booked with a 3rd party, we had to contact them for a refund and that she would approve it. We've stayed at hundreds of hotels over the years, and this is the 2ND WORST HOTEL EXP EVER, only outdone by bed bugs at another hotel a few years ago. ----------- *******READ & SHARE YOUR REVIEWS** Take pictures and list your REVIEWS on: Google, TripAdvisor, Yelp, Facebook, and the 3rd party you booked your stay. It gives me no pleasure to leave such a negative review, but after this trip I feel it would be negligent not to warn others about this location (pictures included). There are a number of amenities advertised that are unavailable or broken (will outline below), which is disappointing, but my review is primarily being written due to the number of safety concerns I saw throughout the hotel. As of this writing (12/30/25), broken amenities and items include: broken hot tub; unheated/unusable pool; broken washer/dryer (there is only one for the hotel and it doesn't work); broken ice machine (second floor); broken/unusable phone; broken locks on the gym and to the pool area; broken treadmill (there are only two, the other beeps at you every 90 seconds to press "enter" or it will shut off); broken TV in our room; mold/mildew in our shower. SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUES: - Broken locks to the pool area meaning anyone can wander in, including unaccompanied children - Exposed wires on the motor next to the broken ice machine (with a sign that reads "do not touch for risk of electrocution") - Unsecured cables across the floors creating a fall/tripping hazard for guests - Blocked emergency exit (there were three large fans situated in front of an exit door on the main floor) - Unusable phone which is a safety hazard during an emergency - A tool room with large and small tools (saws, hammers, drills, etc.) that was unattended and wide open at the end of one hallway I did not go looking for these issues, but kept stumbling upon them over and over. On the second day I brought several concerns to the attention of the front lobby. I was informed that there were work orders in for several of the amenities and that there was "nothing they could do." I asked for a new phone but was told that wouldn't solve the problem since it's the wiring that's faulty and many rooms have this issue (in hindsight, I never heard the phone ring once in the lobby, which is odd). I asked about a different room but was told there were none as they were full. The following day is when I noticed the blocked emergency exit door, so I quickly brought that to the attention of the front desk as well, stating that it was a fire code violation and needed to be removed immediately, but, as of this writing, those fans are still blocking the door. I repeatedly asked for a manager but there was never one on site. I wrote one email to corporate customer care email addresses and another to the manager directly (I was given her card, Taylor Smith) to alert her of the safety issues that needed to be addressed immediately, but of this writing I have received no response. Folks, I have spent over a decade assessing safety issues in homes and hospitals as part of my job. I know there are quite a number of code violations happening here and it is in your best interest to choose another location until this place is entirely remodeled and managed better. read more

[[Wed.31.May.2023 @ 2:30pm]] Wife & I was traveling back from EriePa, we had a 4.5hr travel to do to get to our destination, but we are no spring chickens any longer, so we decided to pull into this Hotel and do a rest break overnight and complete the last 2hrs of drive the next day. We had no reservation so we was curious if they had a room available or not but we was hopeful, after getting inside at front desk, we asked the gentleman if they had a room, sure enough they did, it was #102 Suite which was very nice and comfortable, it only cost $107.00 night tax in all (but there is always a extra $50 security deposit, once you check out 48hrs later will be placed back in your acct.). It was a nice suite, came with full breakfast next morning, pool and more, suite had Kitchen, Desk, Sofa Sleeper, King Size Bed and large Bathroom. read more

To start, our reservation was not honored even though we booked a month in advance. We were put in the 'Jacuzzi suite'. I wouldn't put my pinky toe in that thing. There were large black grease marks all over the carpet. I couldn't find a single wall that didn't have the wallpaper pealing off. The shower pressure was so high it felt like a sandblasting. The hallways were dirty, there was hair amongst other particles all over the bathroom floor. We could not shower because the bathtub was clogged, the shower curtain was stained, and the water never got hot. The eggs and bacon for breakfast were disgusting. OK, I'm not going to complain or make false allegations against the company, having said that this is absolutely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in my entire life. My wife and I made reservations for this location for September 21 and 22nd when we arrived everything look fine on the outside we go up to the counter and the young lady Told us that we would be in room 210 second floor, which we wanted it on the first, but it was OK. We get into the room and we see filthy wall filthy unders sides of the bed, the bed Apron. The plaster coming off the wall in the bathroom, tape holding the towel rod up, and that was just the beginning we looked further when we opened the blinds the see-through sheets that are between the window and the curtains were ripped shredded like just thrashed completely. The showerhead did not work. It was only on high jet more filth was found throughout the room. The refrigerator door didn't close, one of the outlets didn't work. The television damn near fell off the wall and hit us in the head when complaining about it to the staff I showed him photos. I showed them videos. They said they were doing a renovation. I told them this room should never been rented out in the condition it was in, they offered to switch my rooms the next day and when I try to do that they were not available to do it. Now mind you with discounts I had earned it was about $300 for the stay. I reached out to the manager the next morning when I was leaving told Hera out stay and showed her the videos. She promised to have me call back the next day, which didn't happen. I called two days later. Spoke to Richard the manager at that time told him the situation and emailed him the photos and videos. he promised to call me back and never did, I contacted corporate office and told them and they promised to give a credit of 40,000 points. I told them no I wanted to refund from the hotel and I told them I wanted a letter of apology. They said they would send an email to the owner and manager and they would contact me. I never received a contact from either. My wife received an email a generic survey of our stay. She told them it was very poor. They give 10,000 points in a generic apology. Nobody calls nobody deals with the business the right way this organization I called back after giving them a week to call me, I spoke to a manager and their customer service team for the corporate office and she basically said your case is closed tough shit so I'm posting this so everybody knows to avoid Springhill suites by Marriott, the photos are the proof. I would tell you now, just avoid Marriott. There's other hotel chains that will treat you right and do better by you as a customer they will never see my business again, I pray that anybody that chooses to stay at this location sees these and chooses not to? read more

DISGUSTING! Carpets are stained everywhere, toilets don't flush properly, beer left in the fridge from (assuming!) previous room renters....and the sofa bed....EW! We chose a Springhill Suites because we needed additional space - and there was NO WAY someone in my family was going near that sofa bed. So basically it was a clean looking building with a modern interior in the lobby/check in area. I wasn't sure however if my room was updated at one point within a few years or not. (Note: Construction was going on down the hall in other rooms). The sleeping area and living sections were nice and contemporary. However the shower had pealing wallpaper and mold stained sealant, leading me to believe it was an older interior waiting to be remodeled or a bad update was done that spoiled quickly. Over all however the room seemed clean, was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. I didn't like the cable system as the directory didn't give any program details. Breakfast was sufficient, with yogurts, cereal, juices, eggs. Although they didn't allow us to use the self serve waffle maker (maybe it was broken) and I had to find someone to provide milk for the cereal (cartons available were frozen solid). The dining area was modern and clean. The general location was convenient to the highway and other nearby businesses. read more

This place was so dirty. I called the front desk upon checkout to clean the debris left by the previous tenants, and he vacuumed but when I turned down the comforter in front of him a spider crawled across the bed. He crushed it with his fingers and didn't say anything. We were supposed to stay 3 nights but only stayed one night. Only because we checked in at 7:00 pm. We found the courtyard by Marriott down the road for about the same price. Do not stay here!!! read more

We didn't actually stay at this hotel. We checked in and checked out before staying over. The toilet wouldn't flush, multiple carpet stains, filthy wallpaper, and curtains ( blood? Stains, mold, urine?) were too much for us to turn our heads. The smoke detector was missing and the room phones unplugged and inoperable. We reported all to front desk and swiftly checked out. There are much better hotels and plenty to be found in this area. read more

Spring has not necessarily sprung at the Spring Hill suites. The entrance is not well lit, and neither am I at the none existent hotel bar. Fitness center has two treadmills one is milling tread all right and 5 weights (one missing). The hot tub is broken and the pool not well maintained so there is a little trouble in paradise. The rooms make you feel like you are on an episode of Friends from the 90s. High ceilings and dated fixtures. There are a few receptacles around the property in which you could snag some juice for your EV. read more

Lol If you need a very inexpensive place to lay your head or if this just happened to be the last place to book because you waited until the last minute to get a room closer in town, then you're OK. If not, move on. If you're claustrophobic, you won't be able to take a shower. It's extremely small and the water takes forever to drain. If more than one person is using the shower, you will have to wait until your water has been drained, clean the tub and then wait until that water drains. Lol PLEASE ask for a room WITH NO CARPET. Lol The carpet has been here since the beginning of time. They took us to three rooms before we decided on one. Our friend said that his room had to have been a crime scene. This hotel is creepy, nasty and needs a total over haul from the nasty aging carpet and wall paper to their staff. Shocked that Marriott would allow such a product and that they would actually put their guess in these rooms. They should be ashamed. I refused to shower her and definitely not eating anything from this facility. They try but they can't hide the filth. We had to switch rooms bc our first room was obviously not cleaned after the previous guests left. The second room we got was nasty but not as bad as the first. We thought about leaving but the kids were anxious to swim and not wanting to get back in the car after our long drive. I would highly recommend finding somewhere else to stay. read more

I was very disappointed in this springhill suites. The hotel seems to cater to construction workers. While my room was clean everything is just really old. The elevator was filthy. Needs a scrub down. The breakfast was good for the most part eggs, bacon, potatoes assorted pastries etc. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again but if I had no other choice I'd go back. BEWARE - IT'S A BAD CHOICE. We stayed here back in 2011and it was a good hotel. Despite noticing the nominal rating, we decided to stay here without actually reading the reviews, assuming we'd have a similarly good experience. Unfortunately, now in 2024, it's a bargain basement hotel in poor condition and nominally cleaned at best. I'm surprised it has maintained it's franchise with Marriott. It's by far the worst Marriot brand hotel I've ever seen in more than 40 years of hotel stays. If you need a cheap option, try a true bargain brand that's not masquerading as a mid-tier hotel. Then perhaps, it'll at least be properly cleaned. This hotel cuts costs, turning a profit by luring in unsuspecting travellers by virtue of its brand and location who often wouldn't likely return either way - so, why care? And they don't. If you're wondering why a Marriott brand hotel is so cheap, that's the reason. Do yourself a favor and skip this hotel. read more

I had a good experience here, although I should probably preface that I didn't have to pay for the hotel, and was really just here to sleep before attending my interview the next day. With that in mind, I didn't peruse much of anything other than...well, sleeping on the bed, which was ginormous and very comfortable. The room was very clean, and all the staff that I interacted with was very friendly and courteous--always a big plus! I kinda wish I'd gotten there earlier to check out the fitness center and such, but oh well. It's close to a number of different eateries/restaurants, so you likely won't go hungry! read more

We have always been happy with this hotel. We stay here every time we drive through Pennsylvania. It is in a great location with many dining/shopping options nearby. The rooms are nice and spacious. We have two TVs which is very nice, and the beds are very comfy. They also have a pool and exercise facility. The pool is nice and usually quiet. They also have a whirlpool. In the morning, make sure to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast, always good before hitting the road. I would recommend this hotel to anybody. Check it out! read more

My husband Rick and I took a quick weekend getaway to sunny scenic Washington, PA. Well truthfully, we were invited to a Christmas party and we decided to make a weekend of it by doing a candlelight tour of the Bradford House and riding the Christmas streetcars at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum. The Spring Hill Suites in Washington, PA may be just like every other McCorporate Inn around, but it's a good one. For starters, we had the studio with one king and sofa bed. I don't think my first apartment had as much floor space as our room did. The rooms also have your typical amenities for a place like this, plus bottled water and a wet bar. Uh, no thanks. I'm not paying $3.95 for some Aquafina or $2.50 for a can of diet pop. This place also has a fitness center, which unfortunately is a bit small with only a few cardio machines. The pool is also a bit small, but definitely doable as is the hot tub. On the plus side though, the facilities are nice and relaxing and we made use of all three. And while there's no on site restaurant, the place has a complimentary breakfast buffet with your choice of hot or cold items. But all in all it's a nice lodging option and it was a nice break in the Holiday madness . Oh one other thing--they offer very good Holiday rates here. read more

My husband and I stayed here for two nights to celebrate my birthday and have a little getaway. We were very warmly welcomed when we arrived and given a discounted rate (just because we asked) on a jacuzzi king suite. The girl at the front desk gave us ideas of things to do near by as well as directions. Our room was very clean and spacious. We took advantage of the jacuzzi tub in our room- again, very clean and well maintained. The pool and hot tub area was also clean and quiet. Be sure to take advantage of the breakfast offered (included in your stay). Scrambled egg patties, sausage patties, hard- boiled eggs, Quaker oatmeal, cereal, milk (and chocolate milk too), yogurt, pastries, toast, english muffins, orange juice, cranberry juice, and apple juice, Belgium waffle maker, fresh fruit and coffee. They also have to go containers and bags as well if you're in a hurry. Everything was very tasty and better than you'd get served at McDonalds. There is a Walmart, Target and Kohl's right across the street. Ponderosa, Cracker Barrel, T.G.I. Friday's, Applebee's, Red Robin, Quizno's, Bob Evans and Road House are just a few of the many restaurants nearby. We will definitely return when we come to visit this area again. read more

Very nice hotel--and QUIET, which is my number one concern. When I arrived, I found out I was the "guest of the day," which entitled me to some extra points and a few free treats. A nice little surprise. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. So glad it's close to my brother's house. The bed was good. I slept like a log. We had a suite, so there was a nice small kitchenette included, plus a couch. Everything was clean and in good shape. P.S. There are many stores and restaurants nearby, within walking distance. We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast the next morning, but there is also a Krispy Kreme right there and some others. Aldi is also right next door. read more

This is the worst Marriott Hotel I have ever been to. There was no one at the desk when we arrived, we had to walk around and find a small bell to ring for service. We were then greeted by a gentleman who looked as if he may have not showered in a couple days and grabbed his shirt out of a dirty laundry hamper and got dressed for work. He was polite and we were given a room on the first floor. There was confusion on his part about the cost of the room. He quoted us a higher amount than we were given when we booked the room online and he couldn't explain why. As soon as we turned the corner to walk to our room, we were hit with an overwhelming and offensive smell of food spices and or trash. It was a combination of maybe an employee break room and the trash cans. I'm not sure if it was rotting food or where it was coming from but the smell was horrible and continued down the entire Hallway. There was a door wide open from the hallway into the employee area where you could see piles of dirty towels Laying on the floor. When we walked into the room, there was a new offensive smell of stale mildew. The walls were yellowed and marked up; carpet was covered in stains. The room looked like there was furniture and wall Decor missing. Not how you would expect a hotel room to be staged. I was expecting a "suite" but this was a hotel room with a tiny sink and mini fridge. The arms of the couch were black with thick grime. I walked around to the bed where there was a dead flower stem laying on the floor. My kids were SO excited to go swimming but at this point I didn't trust the pool. I went to get our bags and when I got back I tried getting them dressed. That's when I saw the black mascara stains on the pillows and the BOOGER smeared on the wall. The whole place was DISGUSTING. We were in the room for maybe 10 minutes when I quickly grabbed up our things and went to the front desk. Of course there was no one there again to help us. We rang the bell and when the gentleman came back out, I notified him that we could not stay in the room and that we needed to cancel our reservation. He then informed me that he could not cancel or refund the room fee. I asked multiple times to speak to someone who could give me more information but all he could do was hand me generic hotel card and he wrote the name "Jen" on the top. No last name or title. He told me to call her tomorrow and she could "probably help me". He told me that he was the only one at the hotel and he could only check people in. I was left with a $210 charge on my credit card for a room that I wouldn't pay $50 for. I tried calling "Jen" the next day as he suggested but I was told she would not be in all day. When I was transferred to her voicemail, I was greeted by an unprofessional and abrupt "leave a message" as a greeting. I left a message and and am still waiting to hear back. read more

Had a free Marriott coupon so was the only one in the area. Definitely not worth the $149 rate. Had to wait to check-in. Only 1 employee and a long wait at 9PM. 1 Elevator was very slow. Room wasn't bad except that I was woken up multiple times in the early morning by a truck backing-up. I'm guessing it was from the nearby Krispy Kreme donuts. Annoying that the sink was outside the bathroom; wake up the family when using. Towels were very thin. It did have a refrigerator in the room. Booked our 2 night stay while visiting PA. For a smaller scale hotel this far exceeded my expectations! I was greeted by courteous staff and verify my ID and handed me our room card since i did a mobile check in, which by the way makes your arrival smooth. The lobby was clean, well kept, aesthetically pleasing for the hotel in the area. We booked a studio room, its a generously size room for 3 adults and 2 kids in our guests. Upon arrival the room was neatly organized , clean sheets, stocked up fresh towels, ac running good. The studio unit has 2 queen size bed and couch, with mini kitchen which is great addition. The bathroom is basic can use an upgrade esp the dim lights but works just fine. The facility pool and jacuzzi area are clean, our kids enjoyed swimming there..the water was not heated however the pool room is . The breakfast buffet has nice selection of hot breakfast tho i cant say much about the taste because i only ate oatmeal, the 24hr coffee/tea station at the lobby was nice, we would grab tea at night before we head up our room. The staff from the front desk, kitchen and housekeeping are all courteous and friendly which is very rare these days at other hotels. The location is near many selections of restaurants and other establishments, tho near the freeway keep in mind when booking a room to be at the other side of the building otherwise you will hear traffic noise, didnt bother us tho. Overall we enjoyed our stay here , met our needs and exceeded our expectations. Will def recommend and will be repeat clients in the future. read more

The Spring Hill Suites Washington PA was a good hotel overall. We stayed here when driving to Fallingwater. The rooms in the hotel were divided into three parts-a sitting room with a TV and fold out sofa, a kitchenette, and a bedroom with another TV. The breakfast was free and was quite tasty. read more

Front desk employee was very short and borderline rude. A workout at 6 am was interrupted because windows were being cleaned due to the fumes of the window cleaner. I was departing in 2 hours and had no other time to workout. It seems like there would be a better time to do this since the room is so small (overnight). Overall, I just wouldn't choose to stay here given other options based on the staff more than the hotel itself. read more

This was a travel stop over that was picked first for the convenience to our route. I called ahead to check rates and was able to get a rate almost $40 less than the nearest competitor, for à Marriott family hotel! The front desk staff was very nice at 11 pm, and even turned the lobby television off so they could talk with me uninterrupted. Our room was very nice and it appears as if they have renovated in the last few years. The bed was very comfortable and I got a good night of sleep (the main reason for getting a hotel room). I called them and they were completely unwilling to help me out and said this is how their location worked. I told them no location does this, at least I've never encountered this before. Jack helped me out at the desk, gave me the best offer I've ever seen at any of the many hotels in which I have stayed, in the nicest room of all the many I've slept in. First time experience: MUCH more than outstanding. Beautiful facility and suite with all the amenities and cool gadgetry you could ever imagine. Not just "good for the price," but the BEST ANYwhere. Will return time and time again for the wonderfully friendly guests and staff, and the perfectly prime location near all the shops, outlets and service facilities right by "79." read more

My family had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. After driving 10 hours and arriving close to midnight we were all exhausted and just wanted to sleep. The first room they gave us smelled like smoke and we couldn't stay in that room. The only room they had left was a King, so my husband had to sleep on a stained pull out bed. My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel recently and had such a great experience! Our room was very clean and comfortable, the pool and hot tub were very nice, and the breakfast was delicious! Right across the street from Walmart and Krispy Kreme, you can walk to those. Nice rooms, great breakfast with healthy options. Oatmeal with various toppings like walnuts, blueberries, raisins and dried cranberries. Kashi breakfast cereal, yogurt. Eggs with sausages and you can add spinach or various cheeses. Fruit salad, toast, english muffins and bagels. Front desk staff is nice. Our room had a jacuzzi although we didnt ask for it, also has like a mini living room with a sink, microwave, fridge. I'm thoroughly disappointed in this marriott hotel. The service was fine but they could not provide me with disinfectant wipes for the remote. However they do assure me that they do not offer "questionable" viewing options so the remote should be relatively clean. The shower was pretty clean however the cleanliness of the room as diminished by the overwhelming presence of the b-a sex tub just feet from the bed. It was completely distracting as I tried to watch my programs this evening. read more
