Broken door and gobs of mounting tape trying to hold it on. It was in the floor previously

While at hotel I have been informed that the bus we are traveling in cannot park near the front of the hotel because those are premium and for cars. Even though we have booked over 25 rooms this week and are occupying most of the hotel. I suppose if you are traveling in a bit and booking entire floors you are considered 2nd class here. Note, this was not even overnight parking, that was brief and only for 2 hours in the middle of the day for the group to eat lunch and then we would have been gone. I counted only 2 cars in the entire parking lot. So I suppose 25 rooms do not warrant 5 parking spaces. Would not advise staying here with a group.

I've never stayed at a worse hotel in recent memory. The room is old and dirty. It looked like the kind of place you'd expect to find bedbugs. Luckily, no bedbug bites after two nights. I could not sleep because the walls are so thin, you can hear people next door just talking. The people next door woke up early before 7am, so I had bad sleep for two nights. Both beds were uncomfortable and the sheets had pilling (also uncomfortable). For the third night, I went back to my home. I picked Fairfield Inn because it is a Marriott brand that is close to the hospital. I might try Townplace Suites next door. That said, all of the staff members I spoke with recognized my Marriott status and were extremely nice. Really great customer service. I have no complaints about the service. I liked that the hotel had free breakfast (even though I did not go to it) and complimentary parking. The hotel building needs a total upgrade, or demolish it and build something decent! I gave it two stars because I did not get bedbug bites.

It's dated and not very clean. The room furniture is gross and it's heavily worn. No wine key available on property, which is a first for me in any hotel. Breakfast was supposedly from 6 until 10, but when we arrived in the lobby at 6:30, there was no coffee, no cups, no breakfast, and no cups for juice. The washcloths from the last guest are still in our shower, even after asking in the app to have them removed. If you are a light sleeper, this is NOT the place for you. I've never slept in any hotel where I knew the neighbors names after the first night, but I hope Tyler can behave tonight and get into bed earlier. We had noise coming at us from all sides - the stomping upstairs, hallway noise, street noise, and Tyler's family. It is unbelievably loud. The upsides are that it isn't FILTHY, just kind of dirty and it is conveniently located - several food options nearby.

This is what we got upon checking in.

Clean, fairly well maintained hotel. Somewhat creaky in spots, but overall pretty quiet. Nice facilities and central location.

I am sure this place is gorgeous in mid April. We were traveling through the area so we went a bit early for spring flowers. I would love to go back at a later date. We saw a few different birds, lizards and squirrels. There's a super cute children's garden with a finger painting wall, a fairy town with a running toy train. The price was $15 per person and it seemed a bit pricey for such a small garden. Perhaps I would feel differently if there were more flowering gardens. I would love to come back again when there's more flowers and plants in bloom. There's a small gift shop and everything was fairly priced. I bought a book about birds and some magnets. The staff was very friendly and gave some good advice on where to spot birds and reptiles.

It was the first year that the people of the Atlanta botanical gardens located in Atlanta, journey up to Gainesville to create a beautiful display of Christmas lights. The only thing that was missing was the Christmas music that they pipe in throughout the garden. It definitely would've felt a little more like Christmas had we heard some Christmas music. The weather definitely was "wintry" with temperatures hovering around 38° or so. The walk around the the path that went through the display of lights was wonderful, and everywhere you looked there was a great deal of beauty. Going with friends, old and new, was a great deal of fun. The entry fee to get into the garden was $25 which I felt was a little pricy for what we walked through. Because it was the first year of this kind of display in this location, I think they should've dropped the price as it was very short, and there was no music. I have yet to visit this botanical garden during flowering season, but I think I might try that out. Evidently the garden is much larger than the small section I saw last night. Here's to continuing my travels, and making more memories!

DON'T sit in the balcony for a concert. They seat 8 people to a large table, which is nice, you have a bunch of room. But no one at the table can see the stage if you are seated. Some people had to turn their chairs completely around and some people had to get up and stand at the balcony edge the entire time. Decent sound ( it was loud enough ) but couldn't hear what the singer was actually singing. I don't know if that is a band thing or a venue thing. The service was excellent, but we just purchased drinks. I have an issue with the bathroom. The stalls are so small in the women's bathroom that you have to STEP PAST the toilet to close the door. When you stand up after going, you have to back up to the side of the toilet to open the stall door. So uncomfortable! And THEN, wash your hands and there is no paper anywhere near the sinks! You have to walk to the door to get paper to dry your hands. So if you had to put your purse in between your knees to wash your hands, you will have to grab your purse with wet hands to get over to the towels to dry your hands.

As well, felt very uncomfortable with her comments about us being Hispanic and stated that since my family was part Hispanic the party would be very loud. This lady needs a reality check. She acts super sweet and kind but in reality she is not. She's a great example of a wolf in sheep's clothing. I don't recommend this venue to anyone. Cathy is very unprofessional and doesn't know how to treat older people. Cathy is super polite at the beginning but the day of the wedding her job is to make everyone in a bad mood including the bride, she will stress you out. Please do not get married here.

The staff was accommodating, though I think the flow of the reception and overall direction could have been handled a bit better. Maybe a bit more experienced or seasoned folks that know the procession of how weddings go or flow. One of the highlights was the food! The pasta bar was a hit, with options like stuffed pasta, chicken pasta, and salmon pasta...all delicious and well prepared. Staff did remove the food rather quickly as there was enough for seconds but there were folks that didn't even get their firsts. They did accommodate me with a plate to give as one of the groomsmen didn't get one in time. So they made a few huge plate options to make up for it. The bar service was also top tier, thanks to the bartender Roxanne. She made sure the drinks kept flowing and wasn't skimping, which I appreciated and after all, it was paid for. The venue itself made for stunning pictures, and I especially loved the open outdoor area, which sparked so many ideas for a grand entrance. The decorations were well done, creating a fairytale like atmosphere that fit the occasion perfectly. The wedding was a success, and this venue provided a beautiful backdrop for such a special day

That out of the way, the restaurant itself is stunning, absolutely gorgeous! We arrived at 5pm on the dot, waited across the street for opening (per yelp's hours of operation). There were already a couple of people at the bar and one table sat. The hostesses were both very welcoming and sat us quickly. Our section was ran by two sisters and we were having a lovely time! Bread service included a sun dried tomato focaccia and some yeast rolls with 2 butters (one salted and one sweet) and an oil and vinegar dip. Excellent! For an appetizer we chose the pork Belly with Brussels. I liked it. Hubby felt it was too sweet but still ate all the pork out of it while I worked mostly on the Brussels. For our meal we shared the special, a Cowboy Ribeye with scallops and selected the Calabrian butter to accompany. The steak itself... we were offered salt and pepper, we said no but upon taking bites wish we had. The steak was cooked to the perfect temp. I like mine rare, hubby likes a little more to render the fat, we went with medium rare and they hit the mark. There was a nice char yet the inside was still very juicy. Neither of us felt it had much flavor though. And this is where, at this price point, I need something to really stand out. Atop the steak (since we chose scallops) were our scallops and on top of that a bulb of roasted garlic. Yum and yum! Since we were sharing and because I wasn't sure if I'd like the Calabrian butter (which when you select an accompaniment/topping it usually comes on top of the steak, likely why the steak may have seemed to lack flavor, as the variety of butters would influence the outcome) we had the Calabrian butter served on the side. The presentation was beautiful! I actually didn't care so much for the Calabrian butter with the steak (hubby did) but it was phenomenal with the scallops, absolutely perfect pairing. Now we're at $240 without alcohol. And this is where I had to knock a star. Again, at this price point, everything must be perfection! Along with the steak lacking a bit of flavor, the pork belly being too sweet for hubby, I didn't care for the way the "shared meal" was presented. In other fine dining establishments, when we would share a dish, we've had some really creative ways they have done so, from pre slicing the steak (chateaubriand style and placing it in the middle offering us both clean plates) to plating two separate dishes out of one for us, there are ways to do this. Instead hubby is awkwardly splitting the platter and divvying out a portion to my plate across the table. I'd expect this at a chain steakhouse, not at fine dining where service is paramount. Additionally, at the end of our meal, I asked for a to-go cup for the rest of my tea. She asked me to wait as she had just been sat a table next to us, and then another got sat while she was working that table. Understandable. So we waited, and waited, now it's getting awkward, by the 3rd time she came back to our section without my cup, we just got up and left. It felt like once we payed we were no longer relevant, even though we left a hefty tip as up to that point the service really was great. Had this been a chain, my expectations would've been on the floor. But this is clearly a restaurant that's shooting for Michelin stars, which I believe they could earn, but to do so, again, absolutely nothing can go wrong, there is no room for error or even the implication of anything less than stellar. The bar is high and this time, they just barely missed the mark.
