Cathy showed up to the wedding out of dress code telling us to lower the music at 9pm & the contract specifically said music down at 10:30pm. Cathy disrespected older members of my family. Cathy will play with your time & everyone's time, money and enjoyment of the wedding. As well, felt very uncomfortable with her comments about us being Hispanic and stated that since my family was part Hispanic the party would be very loud. This lady needs a reality check. She acts super sweet and kind but in reality she is not. She's a great example of a wolf in sheep's clothing. I don't recommend this venue to anyone. Cathy is very unprofessional and doesn't know how to treat older people. Cathy is super polite at the beginning but the day of the wedding her job is to make everyone in a bad mood including the bride, she will stress you out. Please do not get married here.

My daughter was married here today!…read more She is not my biological daughter, or even a daughter by marriage or adoption. I met her when she was only 18 months old, back when my wife and I volunteered together in the youth classrooms at church. She was a shy little miss, but seemed extremely comfortable with me and my wife. She would sit with me nearly the entire service, from the time her mother dropped her off to the time she'd return to pick her up, sometimes not wanting to leave us. One day our pastor asked the men of the church to voluntarily provide childcare for the single mothers during a special Saturday conference just for them. Without hesitation I asked her mother to leave her in my care. That lead to other times where my wife and I would keep her for an entire weekend so her mother could run errands and have some 'me' time to herself. Soon month passed, then years as she joined us on vacations, cook-outs, holiday dinners and any family event, because she was family. If you have paid attention, she is in many of my yelp photo's. At some point she began to call ME dad, and my sons her brothers. So it was truly an honor when she asked me to walk her down the aisle today, 22 years after we first met. [ THE VENUE ] Located on the property of a 118-year-old cotton mill where raw cotton was spun into fabric for over a century, the venues encompass three old cotton warehouses. There are two Event Halls: The Kennedy and The Jackson, both of which come with the use of a bridal suite and groom's room on the day of the event. Each venue can accommodate up to 250 people with a dance floor, and 300 without and includes 72" round tables & black padded chiavari chairs. The space itself has beautiful whitewashed exposed brick, wood ceilings, stained concrete floors and cute touches throughout such as a vintage looking piano, rope lighting, antiqued furniture, chandeliers, see-thru cream-colored drapes, greenery, outdoor patio and high-top tables. [ THE EXPERIENCE ] Pre-wedding activities included pics all around the grounds of this historic warehouse. Many areas were once covered warehouse rooms, but are now just brick shells of the past. Great for an industrial urban backdrop! The wedding was held in the Jackson Room, where one half of the room is used for the ceremony while the other half holds circular tables to be used for the reception afterwards. After the ceremony was over, guests were invited outside for appetizers under the covered canopy that was once the loading dock for the cotton mill. It was perfect for a beautiful sunny day, but not sure how well this would work during a Georgia thunderstorm. This gave the Venue team time to reset the room for the reception and put all the tables in place. My daughter's wedding included 150 guests, and that left ample elbow room for all in attendance. Those brides looking for a more simplistic wedding venue loaded with historic charm will find The Cotton Mill Event Venue delightful. [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] I share reviews revealing personal parts of my life in hopes my transparency can be a lesson for someone facing a similar situation. Simply put, when you see the opportunity to be a positive influence in someone's life... DO IT!!! I know it can be scary. Self-doubt and thoughts of inadequateness can overrun your mind. If I'm being honest, 20 something years ago I was not immediately open to the idea of being a father figure to children outside of my biological's. I feared not being good enough, but faith is not in knowing the endgame. Faith is believing the endgame will turn out well, despite our personal handicaps. It was a slow process for me, one I wish I would have embraced quicker, more eagerly and done better at fulfilling. Still, I'm so glad I took a leap anyway. I didn't know it would be one of the great joys of my life to have known this little miss, whom today became a Missus. She, and her new husband are two of thee best products of this generation and I am thankful to have been a part of her life's journey and now his. You should have heard their vows. They brought everyone to tears with their heartfelt dedication to one another and God. Thank you Cotton Mill! You don't know it yet, but the event you hosted today was for a young couple destined to leave a glorious mark on the world... just you wait and see. 2019/70

First off... The venue itself is very nice. We feel it was very high priced and that their "$1000…read moreoff" promotion was ridiculous, taking the venue itself from $6495 down to $5495... Especially when they charge so much for everything else. There is mandatory coordinator that they charge you $850 for, they also charge $400 for the bridal room and the $400 for the groom room for the day of, they misled us into thinking that we would be able to provide our own alcohol, which we find out after signing the contract that they "don't allow that anymore" and that the girl who showed us the venue "was mistaken". We had 110 people there, and the bill just for Chapman Hill was $10,215...That did not include ANY of the vendors. Again, its very pretty place to get married...We loved it! BUT...here are the reasons we give them 3 stars and not 5... 1.) You pay $400 for each the bride and groom cabins for the day ($800), and they literally took our stuff out of the rooms starting at 6pm, when we had a 5pm ceremony. When we expressed our concerns, Susan sharply says, "Its in the contract. Its in the contract."...not even allowing me get anything out of my mouth. She then continues, "We need to get everything out so that our cleaning people can come. Also, we don't want anything left behind, so thats why we do it this way." I can tell you...things were left behind, things were lost, and it cost us money. 2.) The groom's cabin...nobody bothered to turn on the heat before we arrived. We started arriving at 10am the morning of the ceremony to a cabin that was 45 degrees...not kidding. By the time 6pm rolled around, temperature inside was at 62 degrees. Also, though the bridal cabin was probably well worth the $400, that grooms cabin was NOT! Hardly any space to get ready, they have 4 TVs on the wall, which seems cool, until you go to change the channel and they all use the same Roku remote...hahaha. We finally just gave up on the cabin and walked outside. 3.) LISTEN...YOU HAD BETTER INSPECT AND TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING YOU USE THAT IS THEIRS. 3 weeks after our wedding, I get an email from Don, the owner, stating that someone from our party damaged their "plastic wicker" furniture. He sent me pictures and the damage that was done, there is no way that anyone from our party caused that. There were full strands of the plastic missing, pieces obviously cut very sharply off to remove hanging strands...this damage was done throughout the life of that furniture. Bottom line, when raised that concern, they charged me for it anyway, taking it out of my deposit. 3 weeks later, and how many events after ours, and they bill us. They probably charged everyone else too...got themselves new "wicker" furniture from Lowes. 4.) The $850 for the coordinator, meh. The coordinator was nice and all, you're sold a bill of goods that she will always keep a drink in your hand, we won't have to worry about anything, "I'll be here making sure everything goes smoothly,"...Not really. We had to get our own drinks, we find out 3 weeks later furniture "was damaged by our group", shoot...As the groom, I only interacted with her 4 times that whole day. We had to ask if we could go down to the fridge and grab a few beers. LOL. Oh Well. Just know, that although the owners are super sweet and nice up to the day of the ceremony, giving you premarital booklets, super responsive, explaining "everything" to you, when push comes to shove, they are running a business, and you are a paycheck.

DON'T sit in the balcony for a concert. They seat 8 people to a large table, which is nice, you have a bunch of room. But no one at the table can see the stage if you are seated. Some people had to turn their chairs completely around and some people had to get up and stand at the balcony edge the entire time. Decent sound ( it was loud enough ) but couldn't hear what the singer was actually singing. I don't know if that is a band thing or a venue thing. The service was excellent, but we just purchased drinks. I have an issue with the bathroom. The stalls are so small in the women's bathroom that you have to STEP PAST the toilet to close the door. When you stand up after going, you have to back up to the side of the toilet to open the stall door. So uncomfortable! And THEN, wash your hands and there is no paper anywhere near the sinks! You have to walk to the door to get paper to dry your hands. So if you had to put your purse in between your knees to wash your hands, you will have to grab your purse with wet hands to get over to the towels to dry your hands.
