Chosen stay for missed flight today! 7/25/23
    Lynda S.

7/25/23-7/26/23 Unfortunately my outgoing flight from Boston was delayed due to weather so I ended up missing my connecting flight out of Chicago. I ended up choosing to stay at this hotel as it was fairly close to the airport with lots of eateries around from stop and goes to restaurants. I ended up doing another Uber Eats night and food delivery was quick with so many choices around. The hotel is fairly new at a year and has maintained quite well. Staff was friendly, rooms are clean with a modern and simple design. Comes with a comp breakfast starting at 6:30am. All in all, a good crash night. If stranded like me, pick this one. Rates were reasonable for the area.

I booked a night stay with Fairfield Inn & Suites Chicago O'Hare, not only because I did not want to drive late in the evening after attending WWE Survivor Series at Allstate Arena, but because the price for a night stay with avid hotel Chicago O'Hare - Des Plaines was ridiculous! I was drawn to Fairfield Inn & Suites Chicago O'Hare because its price was cheaper, its Expedia rating, and location being close to Allstate Arena. When looking for hotel stay, I always look outside of yelp because some reviews will discourage you from considering hotel stay anywhere. I have to remind myself that their experiences always differ from my experiences, so why even be discouraged? My planning always involves looking at ratings and reviews from other sites like Expedia which has it rated a 9.0/10 Wonderful out of 290 verified reviews which was the only validation I needed. My experiences with the receptionist behind the desk were nothing less than professional. Since my room was already paid for, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a short briefing of what the hotel offers, and giving me my room key and an overnight parking permit. For your information check-in starts at 3:00PM, and check-out ends at 12:00PM. I absolutely adored the room! After entering, I said to myself, "This is nice!" because I loved the layout and design of the furniture in the room which had a different appearance in comparison to other hotels I have stayed at. Another thing I loved were the liquid products by Alice + Co Botanicals (lavender & eucalyptus) inside of the bathroom attached to the shower wall which smelled lovely! Seems like hotels are doing away with mini hygiene products like shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner that make really great travel hygiene additions. I imagine that going with the liquid products attached to the shower wall likely saves money too. Along with adoring the room, it also met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my overnight stay with my head engulfed in-between the comfortable pillows. The shower was okay! I was not too fond of the water pressure of it, but I did feel clean after utilizing it. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to with no connectivity issues during my stay. Fairfield Inn & Suites, as expected, appeared to be in very good condition! While headed to my room, I spotted the gym not too far from the check-in desk as it appeared to be a complete ghost town as like most are. If I would have been feeling well the morning of check-out, I would have gotten in a workout prior to checking out, but I just could muster up the strength to do so. Now along with a gym, the hotel does have a swimming pool which I did catch a glimpse of after returning from Allstate Arena. However, swimming in the pool was the last thing on my mind, so I did not utilize it. It was a relief to have the complimentary breakfast option in the morning because I did not have to worry about it prior to checking out. If you wish not to eat breakfast at the hotel, Rosemont Market Place is within walking distance and has an IHOP, and a Steak 'n Shake within the shopping center. I would surely book with Fairfield Inn & Suites Chicago O'Hare again because not only did the hotel meet my comfort needs, but its location is also within an accessible distance from Allstate Arena which is likely why I would stay again. ~ Be obsessively grateful. ~ Thomas G

This hotel is conveniently located near O'hare airport, has a 24 hour front desk so I was able to check in late, and the staff was friendly. The room is both clean and comfortable, there is cable, there are snacks in the lobby for a charge, and free breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Further, on-site parking is free but they do give a parking pass to place on the windshield. The best thing about the room is the spacious shower. I would stay here again.

Comfy bed, weird limited selection on breakfast. Short staff but everyone is managing it well.

Dining: We dined at Thorn Restaurant & Lounge, located in the hotel lobby, and everything was exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was impeccable, and the cocktail menu did not disappoint. I highly recommend the Not So Old Fashioned -- definitely order it smoked! During our business meeting, we ordered breakfast, and I was blown away by the portion sizes. That breakfast burrito with the oven-roasted potatoes could honestly keep you full all day! Accommodations: The rooms are stunning. The décor throughout the property is modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. My bed was incredibly comfortable, and the large shower provided the perfect way to unwind after a long day. I also appreciated the charming old-school Frigidaire in the room -- such a fun touch! Service: From the front desk staff to the restaurant team, everyone was warm, friendly, and accommodating. The hotel even checked in with me via text throughout my stay, and when I requested extra pillows, they arrived promptly. This was my first time staying at this property, but it definitely won't be my last. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! #YelpEliteSquad

A short fuse and a close call…read more After Emily and I checked in to our hotel room, we wanted to stretch our legs and see if there was anything nearby for some beer and some food. Turns out, Short Fuse was right up the road and a 5 minute walk got us there. For a Sunday, it wasn't too busy but not dead, so we got seated right away. We ordered some beer and took a look at the menu. While nothing really struck our fancy, our waitress made a comment that if we did want any food, it might be slim pickings as they were running out of stuff. Turns out, this day was the last day they were open. Talk about timing! After she mentioned that, I started to notice that people were buying bar signs and various other things. Emily started off with a Guava Gose and I grabbed a Krankshaft kolsch. We sampled each other beers and we both really liked what the other ordered. I don't really know what a gose is but, damn, was that good! I've had Krankshaft before so I knew what I was getting myself in to. We ended up ordering a second round of the same beers and let each other sample the other's beer a little more liberally this time. While we were kind of hungry, nothing on the menu really struck our fancy, especially considering they might've been out of it. Room service took care of those hunger pangs later after a few more beers in the hotel bar. Online reviews for this place seemed hit and miss but I really enjoyed my time there and really enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the vibe of the place. We did contemplate buying some bar signs on our way out but declined as we don't know what we would exactly do with them. It sucks to see a small business close but they did say they may try to open up a new place in a new location in the future.

He looked up at me, made eye contact & went back to writing. He continued writing (I took this as a challenge & started timing his ignorance). After 10 minutes of patiently waiting for him to come ask if I'd like a drink or food menu, I went up to the bar and asked if he could help me. He asked "what do you want?" "I'm thinking of a drink, since this is a bar, and maybe something to eat if you have a menu." A Woodford old fashioned was $20 - this location doesn't warrant Las Vegas pricing. Service sucks - night 2 was a replay. I watched 2 other groups of customers sit at a table, were ignored and then have to walk up to the bar to order and fetch their drinks.

Well, on the night I was there there was a celebration of "La Quinceanera". What is that, you ask? Ahh, glad you asked as I had to also. La Quinceanera is basically a "coming out" party for a 15 year old girl celebrating in the traditional Mexican way. That would certainly explain all the young people (and I mean young!) sipping soda around the bar all dressed up in their finest. I thought I had walked into the middle of a high school dance. For the few of us at the bar who were over the age of 15, I think the bartenders were relieved to be making real drinks as I think the onslaught of "kiddie cocktails" took them all by surprise! Don't get me wrong. WXYZ bar located on the lobby level of the Loft hotel is a contemporary adult space. There are modern couches and chairs clustered around the fireplace as well as a full sized pool table in the one corner. The small bar located at one end has a light "show" that is constantly changing that I found more distracting than engaging. My favorite thing were the bar napkins that had word search puzzles on them- perfect if you are sitting by yourself. This area opens up to an outdoor pool, so I can only bet how lively and fun this area could be in the Summer months. A downside? The parking situation here is a bit of a maze. They block off the few parking spots in front of the hotel for the hotel van and expect you to park in the large parking garage shared with the Muvico theater. All fine and good except the parking garage is expensive (don't forget to get your ticket validated) and it's a bit of a walk if you end up in the wrong section. Follow the signs to "general parking" and park as far south as you can and you should be okay. If you go the wrong way- you will have to circle past the hotel and try the whole parking thing again. Not a bad spot if you just want to grab a drink while waiting for someone's plane to come in at O'Hare or to grab a drink after a movie at Muvico. And hopefully on the night you go- the average age will not hover in those awkward teenage years!
