    Swimming Pool Suite

Sybaris Pool Suites is an amazing, unique hotel experience and great getaway for couples or just one person. The rooms either have a jacuzzi or pool installed in them, a steam room and some even have a massage chair and bath robes for use during your stay. The rooms are very clean and very secure with on site security, it keeps up with the "membership club" hotel that Sybaris presents. I'd highly recommend staying here for a relaxing hotel, the rooms are cheaper on sundays-thursdays so I'd also recommend staying then if you can over a Friday or Saturday.

No reply back as stated from employee. Poor management skills. Did everything have to go to the wayside after covid. Very disappointed on no follow up on issues. I'd never go back to this location.

Soiled "clean" robe when we arrived to our room

DISAPPOINTED... we booked a 2 night stay and the Rooms were okay at best But not at all what I was expecting for almost $500 per night. This was villa #31. The carpets need to be replaced as they're stained, the shower was rough with loose hair, cracks and chips. The tooth brushes they provide had been opened and USED along with the hand soap that someone put back in the package and they didn't bother to replace any of it with new It seems they do the bare minimum for cleaning. The brand new unopened robes they provide had something smeared on them that appeared to be fecal matter. I called the front desk to ask for a new robe and they did send a new one over but we were there for what was supposed to be an amazing getaway so I didn't want to complain and ruin our time about all the other stuff. Felt like a super 8 motel with a pool in the room. This was our first and likely last trip which is a bummer because we would have visited often. I can't stay somewhere this dirty for the price you pay.

lovely room, helpful staff, quiet location. Comfy bed, a bit pricey, and infested with carpenter bees. Great room, the second you step outside. Bee corpses, and bee attacks. Bee corpses littered our welcome mat upon arrival. Went out for a literally minute or two to check the weather, and car, and came back into the room with an itch To my horror, upon taking off my sweater, and reaching down my shirt to investigate I pulled out a giant black insect, at first I thought to be a cockroach, came to realize it was a carpenter bee.

I was contacted by the manager by email in which they apologized and refunded $216 for our inconveniences that we inquired while we stayed and they did welcome us back with a promise of better communication and room. Thank you!

Sybaris is the ideal romantic staycation for couples. I knew of its existence as early as age 9. At the time, it was the early 90's and I was fascinated by their cheesy commercials illustrating a happy couple feeding each other a chocolate covered strawberry amidst a fireplace backdrop. The commercial would end with the man twirling said gf/mistress/wife in the middle of the pool. They appeared to have enjoyed themselves and even to this day, that memory was forever ingrained in my mind. As I look back decades later, post our recent Sybaris experience, I realized this was how they marketed the Sybaris as a paradise. Yes, it's obvious it's a place where you go with your special someone to indulge and get it on but despite the taboo, I always told myself one day we would go. First of all, it's not your average hotel. In fact, I wouldn't even call it a hotel. It felt more like a couples retreat with all the bells and whistles. Each suite was its own little home. You have a private driveway leading right up to your suite door. There are no windows so it felt very secure and secluded. I'd highly recommend getting a pool suite. They're not only spacious but you have your own private pool in your living space. How cool is that? We reserved the Paradise pool suite for a night and a half. It's the smallest of the pool suites but had just the right amount of amenities. The pool was the main draw. It was super clean just like the rest of the suite. The water wasn't nauseatingly chlorinated and the temperature was set at a comfortable 90-92 degrees. The pool had color-changing mood lights. It also had a connecting hot tub, with a timed waterfall directly over the pool, which another Yelper accurately described as a tropical rainfall. The waterfall was a little loud but it was unique to the pool and pretty cool. These rooms have pro audio sound systems so you can play your favorite tunes while swimming and we liked it a lot. The suite also had a separate steam room with a dual shower head. It took a while for the steam to come out but overall it was very relaxing and we enjoyed drifting away through the warm mist. In fact I enjoyed the shower in the steam room and used the steam room shower versus the bathroom shower! BYO booze. You're allowed to drink since they only allow guests over the age of 21. We pre-ordered food because you will not want to leave your suite. This place, having all the comforts you can think of, will guarantee leaving your suite is not an option. There's even a chair massager in the room which I used at least 3 times. We would've rated this experience at a 5 but we encountered a couple of unpleasantries. The first was a lack of toilet paper. Upon arrival, there was less than half a roll and despite there being a bidet in the bathroom, leaving an extra roll in the room would've been nice. The other issue we had was the bed. It was stiff. It felt like the mattress was old and could've used refreshing. A memory foam or sleep number would've been a welcomed upgrade. The owners really put some thought into the design of their pool suites and although a little dated, they made a genuine effort to deliver a retreat for the senses. I actually grew sad as our little vacation was coming to a close but if we ever plan to have another staycation, we would definitely come back to the Sybaris.

Excellent couple getaway. We visited the Frankfort, IL location. We did notice they downsized the rooms and removed a few features but overall the pool, hot tub and sauna were all utilized and in perfect condition. They were running behind having our room ready by 6pm check in but definitely compensated us with fabulous gifts from the gift shop. Honestly we only stepped out 1 day of our 3 night trip and that was for food and water. Very nice way to spend some quality time with your loved one.

The Experience of Downers Grove Sybaris Pool Suites.

My experience at The Sybaris in Downers Grove was a truly wonderful and memorable one. After going through so much in life and dealing with the challenges of the current times, The Sybaris provided me with a much-needed ray of light. The ambience of the place was simply amazing, with a high energy and an atmosphere filled with love. It was the perfect peaceful getaway that I needed. The luxurious amenities in the rooms was a bonus, adding to the overall experience. I enjoyed my stay so much that I ended up going twice in one week, with my only complaint being that I talked so much fell asleep and didn't get to use the hot tub the first time we came back and didn't use it again that's how much the getaway was needed so I guess I can have a tantrum and my mate will be sure we go again and next time, I'll make sure to indulge in the hot tub experience. The comfortable bed and intimate conversations with my partner made me realize the importance of treating ourselves to getaways like this. It allowed us to have some peace and privacy while reconnecting with each other. The Sybaris truly lives up to its reputation as an amazing place for a romantic getaway, and I can't wait to go back and experience it all over again. The staff were friendly and accommodating as usual, ensuring that our every need was taken care of. The attention to detail in the room decor and amenities was impressive, creating a luxurious and intimate atmosphere. Overall, my experience at The Sybaris was unforgettable, and I highly recommend it as a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic escape or just a getaway. I met those that make it happen behind the scenes and I got to take a few photos and thankful so the world gets to see how people go above and beyond to make things a lifetime memory for us and sometimes they're never noticed.

I just left Sybaris for my wedding anniversary We stayed in the majestic and had an extended stay until 3p and it was everything I hoped for! We drove from Michigan so it was about 5 hours for us. They have 40 different little suites with a driveway for your car. We walked in and the pool had blue and pink lights the jacuzzi made perfectly for 2 was pink. Heated pool with a waterfall. Bed was super comfy and we had a really nice mattress at home so we are usually not satisfied with the beds we sleep in. Now what was unexpected is when you first get checked in and you pull up to the security gate they check your car with a flashlight to make sure there's no more then 2 people coming. As a poly women I definitely wish they were a little more poly friendly. But overall the experience was exceptional. I was a little worried when I had a friend tell me they are a bit outdated but it really wasn't that bad. It's the woodwork throughout the suite that's outdated. The pool area was beautiful, the steam room was a little strong lol but also beautiful. The desk receptionist gave us massage oil on the house and we gave each other massages and if your partner sucks at it they also have a massage chair! I would love to come back again, next time the chalet suite because that was is drop dead beautiful. If your planning a experience like this be sure to plan in advance cause they are always booked up.

What's the closets airport from the hotel?

Ohare for sure. Less than 30 min away

What will you rate this place in sanitation?

Definitely cleaner than a regular hotel. You can still smell bleach on the blankets and towels..... like freshly washed. I know this is the thing that scares a lot of people from here. But I assure super clean and well maintained.

I definitely do not wanna give a 5 star reading to the Indian woman at the front because she was condescending and rude to me and my family. I had come down and waited to talk to her in line. A black man cut me in line, she saw, and she did not say anything about it. I told her that I wanted to get toothpaste, and she told me I had to wait even though I was in line to speak first. This man spoke rudely to my underage son, who is just a child. He picked up the phone and she told him to stop and put the customer who was in front, also told him to stop in a rude way to stop picking up the phone and calling the front desk. I was in complete shock, so I did not realize what was going on and why he was talking to my son in that manner. We buy even more so than the rude customer. The man in front of me I was appalled that the woman at the front desk was not being professional and did not say anything to that man, because I, as a mother, of course, was in shock. She needs to stick up for her patrons. That was at the hotel line. Now, I've booked four different rooms for our family members and we were there for multiple days and I had asked for only six little packets of toothpaste and she practically screamed in shock at how many that was. Even though we were there for multiple days and had multiple rooms. I only needed to get through that morning before I could go to the store to buy more toothpaste. The hotel rooms themselves are pretty good, because they have separate rooms and a full kitchen. But I will never stay here again because of that rude woman. She doesn't care about her customers OBVIOUSLY and screamed about needing "so much" toothpaste when we were 5 families staying here over the course of multiple days. Absolutely ridiculous.

I had French Onion soup that was really good but we could not help but to continually note that there was a lack of people around. This is definitely an older Hilton property and does not look like it has seen any renovations in the last 15-20 years. Not that it looked bad but it definitely did not give the "modern hotel" vibe. The phone in the room was very old and the same model phone that was on my desk when I started my first job pre-2000. The room was spacious, clean and had a very comfortable bed. !!DO NOT RISK IT!! NOT SAFE! DO NOT STAY AT THE HOTEL!!…read more I stayed one night at the hotel after a company holiday party that was held in their banquet hall. Because our company had a party there, I received a great rate and thought it would be a good idea to stay so that I didn't drink and drive, and spend some time with my boyfriend and relax. Overnight, probably between 1-5 AM my catalytic converter was cut out of my vehicle. First red flag-- they had signs on all the parking spots saying they are NOT responsible for lost or stolen items, so I specifically parked RIGHT in front of the main lobby doors. And it still did me no good, despite cameras and all, they didn't catch them. Do NOT be fooled by the fact that the address is in Northbrook, IL. Just because other areas are wealthy, this specific area is NOT safe. The police told me that they have a group of people doing this often in the area that they cannot catch them. Between fake license plates, and the last two times they tried arresting them, the criminals were shooting at them and trying to run them over, they can't stop them. So if the police aren't stopping them, who will? My $99 hotel night turned into a $1500 hotel night. Do not risk staying at this hotel. On top of the financial stress, I am dealing with the emotional and mental stress of trying to get an auto shop to fix all the damage they did. Single parent of two kids, and this is NOT what I needed. The hotel is WELL AWARE that this happens, the front desk lady even knew that "in the past they could check the cameras across the street" and I wish I had read other reviews that stated it had happened to them. They should be held accountable for not having a safe environment for their guests and not increase security at night. Not only that, but parking is NOT free -- so whomever wrote that in the review was mistaken. They charge each car per night. This hotel should be shut down. So please listen, do yourself a favor, and do not stay here.

Along with it being lower in cost for Hilton Honors members as I am currently a silver status member, I loved that it is located nearby a plethora of businesses and restaurants within Skokie itself. It was those things that won me over and led me into booking with Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago-North Shore/Skokie. My experience with the enthusiastic receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and giving me my room key. And for your information check-in starts at 3:00pm and ends at 12:00am! And check-out ends at 12:00pm! After locating and entering my room, I said to myself "This is gorgeous!" once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! Looking outside of the window, I had an overview of Old Orchard Rd, and Edens Expressway (I-94), which is accessible to Hampton Inn & Suites. Inside the shower, there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with its spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting the inside of my ear. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, a power adapter with USB and AC plugin, and several lamps which add a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn & Suites, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. And I must say that I was pleased to see the number of dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, trx straps, a decent selection of workout machines, and a peloton fitness bike which totally charmed me out of my panties once I spotted it. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served Monday-Friday from 6:30am - 10:00am, and Saturday-Sunday from 6:00am - 10:00am. If you are visiting Skokie, the Hampton Inn & Suites sits not only within an acceptable walking distance of a plethora of restaurants and businesses, but the Holocaust Museum, and Westfield Old Orchard, formerly Old Orchard Shopping Center. I would surely book with Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago-North Shore/Skokie again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in Skokie. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G
