We had a great night stay at Staybridge! It's super clean, the bed was so comfy and I loved having a nice big fridge and plates/silverware. We chose to eat in one night so it was nice to not eat from plastic serving ware. We also hit the gym in the am and then enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. First of all I want to say that I want to give 5 stars to the women who help at breakfast. I tipped them everyday I was there because they were doing a great job making sure everything was stocked up clean around the breakfast station. I definitely do not wanna give a 5 star reading to the Indian woman at the front because she was condescending and rude to me and my family. I had come down and waited to talk to her in line. A black man cut me in line, she saw, and she did not say anything about it. I told her that I wanted to get toothpaste, and she told me I had to wait even though I was in line to speak first. This man spoke rudely to my underage son, who is just a child. He picked up the phone and she told him to stop and put the customer who was in front, also told him to stop in a rude way to stop picking up the phone and calling the front desk. I was in complete shock, so I did not realize what was going on and why he was talking to my son in that manner. We buy even more so than the rude customer. The man in front of me I was appalled that the woman at the front desk was not being professional and did not say anything to that man, because I, as a mother, of course, was in shock. She needs to stick up for her patrons. That was at the hotel line. Now, I've booked four different rooms for our family members and we were there for multiple days and I had asked for only six little packets of toothpaste and she practically screamed in shock at how many that was. Even though we were there for multiple days and had multiple rooms. I only needed to get through that morning before I could go to the store to buy more toothpaste. The hotel rooms themselves are pretty good, because they have separate rooms and a full kitchen. But I will never stay here again because of that rude woman. She doesn't care about her customers OBVIOUSLY and screamed about needing "so much" toothpaste when we were 5 families staying here over the course of multiple days. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

When we arrived on August 13th at 0630 we were given a standard suite with a Queen size bed and told 'we are totally booked' and the this was the only room available. This was a result of miss management and a lack of caring for the customer satisfaction. I am not going to stay at the STAYBRIDGE SUITES again in response to this treatment we received. We are experienced travelers and know are way around. In all of my travels on 6 of the seven continents we have not suffered the discomfort served up by this hotels management. I think the location is perfect and my boyfriend and I enjoyed our Queen Suite studio. It had a nice fridge, stove, microwave, kitchen sink, cupboards filled with cutlery, tv, couch, bathroom, closet. Our suite was perfect and comfortable. Nice rooms for a reasonable price. Beds are very comfortable. Full kitchen is a definite plus, even though we ate out all the time. Overall, quiet environment. No street noise. No rowdy party-ers.... Betty and Michael, behind the desk, are wonderful, helpful and friendly. Have stayed here for 2 occasions when visiting my father at the Vi Retirement Home which is near by. The breakfast is wonderful. So many choices that it has to please everyone. Stayed here for 4 nights and the eggs and meat, pastries, all changed so that there is a variety. Everything is very clean. Coffee is good! Would definitely stay here again. Parking is ample. There is a computer and exercise area, though I didn't use it. I booked a room specifically to allow my kids to swim. I called ahead of time to make sure the pool was working. It wasn't until after my card was swiped that I was told the pool would be down but it would be available in the morning. Not ideal but it gave the kids something to look forward to. Well, the morning comes and goes and after repeated attempts to use the pool, we were told it was still not available. While I recognize that things happen, when I emailed the manager about it twice after the fact, he didn't even bother responding. I verified I had the correct email with the front desk. Really poor customer service. I'd also like to mention the giant safety hazards that are the dressers in these rooms as well. The dresser wasn't bolted into the wall so when the drawers opened, the dresser would fall over. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen, bolt down the dressers before a kid gets crushed. The walls are also super thin. I could hear our neighbors talking so I assume they heard me. A couple stars for the decent breakfast we ate before taking my sobbing kids out of the hotel because after paying for a night of facilities, they didn't get to swim. read more

I recently spent two nights at Staybridge Suites. Because I booked the two nights separately, the first night cost about $90 before tax and second night cost about $100 before tax instead of being the same price. The location is great. It's not far from a large shopping area and right in between Interstate 94 and Interstate 294, which was convenient for me because of the easy access that provided driving down from Milwaukee initially and then back up from downtown Chicago. If it's something important to you, there's also a movie theater and children's museum nearby. I was pleasantly surprised by the room I stayed in. For what the room cost, I would never have expected to see amenities like a stovetop, oven, and full sized refrigerator. Most hotels only give you a mini fridge and, if you're lucky, and microwave. To have all of that, even though I didn't use it, was awesome. For a hotel bed it was one of the softest I've slept on, which I prefer and was happy with. The couch in the room was quite large and could have easily slept another person as well. The bathroom wasn't extravagant, but it got the job done. The only reason I'm giving Staybridge Suites a 4 out of 5 instead of higher is because breakfast begins serving at 6:30am instead of 6am, which I feel is more of the standard for hotels. Both days I had to be on my way before 6:30am so I had to waste an opportunity to enjoy the complementary breakfast and find my own elsewhere. read more

First time coming to this hotel. Me and my girlfriend came here for a weekend getaway recently and this place was mostly phenomenal. The prices were great, we had a studio suite. Our room had alot of nice features and things to check out. The whole space was big almost like you're typical studio apartment that's furnished with a couple of utensils, etc like you're going to be here for a while Everything from our stay was perfect room wise. The continental breakfast was also great. I loved how much food is provided to the breakfast compared to other hotels I've visited. The hotel is definitely beautiful. I sadly didn't go in the pool but I did check it out when I was walking around. Only things I thought was a bit negative was that even though I pre paid they still wanted a card on file to hold $20 for incidentals which I was told was refundable. They don't do paper receipts. This isn't a 4 star in the conventional rating. This place does not match an upper class 4 star, on the water with a great view types, rather a business class no extras, 4 star style hotel. When we arrived we came in to a smaller lobby and walked through some clean well lit hallways to our room. No stains on the walls, no occasional lighting outages. Simple and easy, pleasant. We stayed in a suite with a two bedrooms, one with two queen size beds and a joining bath. The master bedroom had a queen size bed and attached bath. Decent sized closets, three tvs, a two burner electric range, microwave, dish ware and 3/4 size fridge. The furniture in the living room was beaten, but comfortable. (To the owners, it should be replaced.) The pool is standard size and clean. The weight room has a treadmill, bike, elliptical and universal bench with a few free weights, a laundry room and free buffet breakfast, nothing special. The town is clean and historic complete with a train running through it. FYI, The trains never woke me. Long review short I would come back if I needed to in the future. Nice place! This is a great hotel for families or couples traveling together. Our room consisted of two bedrooms/baths along with a living area complete with sofa sleeper, TV, dining table and kitchenette with 2-burner stove, microwave, dishware, cookware, utensils and small full sized refrigerator. One of my tests of a hotels cleanliness is to walk around in my white socks to see how long they stay white. I'm please to report this place must have new carpet throughout or they are super clean. Even after walking the common area hallways my socks stayed white. Our two bedroom corner unit overlooked a small courtyard. My wife and I stayed in the bedroom with a single queen bed while my sister-in-law and father-in-law stayed in the second bedroom with TWO full beds. Both rooms were decent in size and included their own TV's, bathrooms, closets and dressers plus extremely comfortable beds and pillows (which is one of THEE MOST IMPORTANT features of any hotel in my opinion). It was ideal accommodations for our short visit to the Windy City. The hotel has both an attractive exterior as well as interior. It includes an indoor pool, fitness center, laundry facilities and a very decent complimentary breakfast. The sausage gravy and biscuits were particularly delicious! Also included and always appreciated were a soda fountain as well as juice bar. FINAL THOUGHTS It was our first time booking a room, but we will definitely look to stay at this brand in the future. In all good conscience I cannot give Stay (away) Bridge Suites at 2600 Lehigh Street in Glenview, IL any star rating but Yelp made me select a star or they wouldn't post. So I give it one star under duress. I would not recommend anyone stay at this flea and bedbug trap at all. My story began on August 1, 2023 and ended on August 24, 2023 in a nightmarish way. When my wife and me made the reservation we requested a handicap friendly room as my wife is legally blind and has been recovering from a broken hip over the past several months. When we checked in on 8/1/2023 we were told that no handicap friendly rooms were available. This reservation was made May 15, 2023. Not one person called, emailed, or texted to inform us that there were no handicap rooms available. Our time there was most unpleasant due to a number of factors: Plainly speaking, the room they assigned us can best be described as seedy. The furniture was old, uncomfortable and smelled. We had to obtain a big blanket to cover the so-called sofa so we could sit on it. There was one tiny closet and a couple of small dresser drawers. The carpets were filthy and smelled musty. The bathroom was tiny with a tiny privacy door that barely cleared the toilet. There were no safety bars in the bathtub; one outside of the bathtub. Not a big help if have a fall in the tub. The bed had fleas and bedbugs; we know because we got bitten. By the way, the Stay (away) Bridge is a pet friendly hotel. On 3 separate occasions I viewed the cleaning staff cleaning and disinfecting the floors in the first floor lobby area because dogs shit all over the floor. The place always smelled of disinfectant. Another source of vile odor came from the public bathroom(s) on the main floor near the hotel lobby. It took them days to get someone in to repair the toilet. Most of the fitness center equipment was not working or working poorly. The laundry room has 5 washers and dryers. At one point 3 of the washers went down and remained that way for a few days. People were getting very testy because they couldn't do their laundry. Remember this hotel is supposed to be an extended stay facility. The straw that broke the camel's back for us is when the a/c went out on Wed. 8/23 thru Thursday 8/24. Just so happens the heat index in the glenview are was 113 degrees. They couldn't fix it properly and the the front desk flunky, CHAD MARTINSON comes up to our room with a fan. The thermostat in the room read 82 degrees. This moron brings a fan. Luckily, we were able to find a very nice Marriott close by that had a handicap room available with a/c that worked very well. You might be wondering why we didn't leave this flea bag earlier; we tried but all the hotels in the vicinity were booked solid in August. Folks, it's not over because when I checked out of this hotel Chad Martinson and his General Manager, another moron, MATTHEW CLAYSON promised to not charge me for the two nights we had no air conditioning. They billed me anyway and they charged me for a full week to boot. I've already put in a dispute with my credit card company. Oh, by the way, nobody even offered to try to find us another hotel to stay at as a courtesy. I don't know about other Staybridges, but if you decide to stay at this particular location you've been warned. Do so at your own risk. I think the county health department should be notified of this and that is probably my next step. These people essentially spoiled our stay in Glenview, IL. Staying here in transition from our move. We are residing here a total of 13 days. Two adults, two children and a cat. The one bedroom has enough beds but it's quite tiny in the bedroom and the bathroom hard to get around with so many people. We are moving to a two bedroom as soon as one opens up. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast every morning which is kind of nice even though there is a kitchen in the apartments. There is a swimming pool and a workout facility. And laundry room with adequate washers and dryer's, free to guests. There is some kind of social hour Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 530 to 7:30 PM with food drinks and conversation. This Staybridge is a half a mile from the commuter train to get into Chicago... very easy to walk to. There are also some restaurants next to the train station that are also within walking distance. But if you have a car: Costco, target, even Whole Foods is all nearby. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need including wine glasses. Due to some home renovation work, my family of 4 relocated here for about 2 weeks. The location was good - close to stores, several restaurants, a Target, Costco, Aldi, Kohls, etc. We stayed in a 2 bed/2bath. While the living area furniture is rather dated, the bedrooms are nicely furnished with plenty of storage. Beds/mattresses are on par with some of the best hotels I've stayed at. There are plenty of pillow options to choose from - feather/down, firm, medium, soft. The bedding is crisp and white. There is housekeeping service daily (trash/beds/bathrooms) and it seems as though they change the sheets every few days. BREAKFAST is quite decent - eggs (3 different ways - scrambled, hard boiled, omelet) EACH day, sausage/bacon/ham EACH day, breakfast potatoes, oatmeal and a yogurt bar EACH day, scones, coffee, tea, assortment of breads/bagels, cereal bars, granola bars, a waffle-maker, a beverage fountain for juices, soft drinks, water, and fresh milk. Randomly, there are some Jimmy Deans breakfast sandwiches available - but you can make your own as well. Apples and bananas are available. I do wish they had some additional fresh fruit, but I can't complain. There's something for everyone and while there weren't many children here, food options were plentiful even for picky eaters. Mon-Wed, from 5:30-7 is social hour. That means, wine and heavy appetizers are available and included. Appetizers are different each day but enough to make it dinner. BBQ pork sliders and mashed potatoes, hot-dogs and sloppy joes, chicken tenders, etc. Chips and cookies always available during this time, as well as fountain drinks. Occasionally there is soup. Given that I have a child with a nut allergy, I wish that some cookies were available for her to enjoy, but that's okay. The PB cookies on hand are great. The pool is okay - it needs a bit of a power wash as it's looking a bit dated, but it's clean and the temperature is okay. A few degrees to cold for me, but the kids were okay with it. Towels are available pool side which is nice. There is a fitness center that is well-equipped as well as a laundry room with several washers and dryers. You only need to provide detergent to use - no cost. Hotel security: I wish that the door to the fitness center remained locked - it has a key card entry, but it's always unlocked so no key card needed. I also wish that there was a bit more security at the front desk - it's hard to tell who's coming and going and who the hotel guests are. The lobby area could use an update with some enhanced security. The eating area beyond is really quite nice. There is a reading nook, some soft seating, plenty of tables/chairs, a free library, printers, and computers. I found hair in the tub before I even got in there. There were dirt marks on the insides of the doors and the pillows had a weird smell. I heard all sort of Pipe noises at night which made my sleep very uncomfortable. We decided to try the pool since we were here and there were a bunch of hair balls in the pool and the water was freezing! They have ice cold water filling up the pool which makes it unbearable. There was no toothpaste in the rooms and the conditioner bottles were empty in both bathrooms. Definitely wouldn't come here again! Staying here each and every summer has been wonderful..the staff, especially Betty, Derek, and Chad are most helpful and accommodating. The room is spacious and facilities nice. It really is a good value for long term guests...as we are. On our most recent stay, august, 2019, we were disappointed. What happened here, Staybridge???? I am hoping some of our issues and and concerns will be addressed before our return next summer. An injection of $$$$ to update some facilities would be a good idea. The room looks tired..lol..check out the pix. The smelly, old couches need to be replaced, as with some of the chipped furniture, rooms could use a fresh coat of paint, and more attention needs to be carefully considered by your housekeeping staff when they clean each room. The room constantly had a smell which I had the housekeepers spray deodorizing liquid as did I with room deodorizers.The location is excellent as is the courteous and helpful staff. We stay yearly, so our hope is that these suggestions are taken into consideration. Perhaps management might consider looking into these reviews here to improve the quality. My interaction with management was most disappointing with poor excuses instead of solutions. Shower AND laundry while being able to cook!! Wooo whooo! Very lovely breakfast and common area. Wish I'd had time to use the pool. The thermostat couldn't seem to keep up with the weather as it ran a little warm. Once I learned it's tricks, it worked better. (I.e. To turn the heat lower, press and HOLD the down button. And put it a little lower than the temperature you want when it's warm out. It's partially the time of year. Cause ac didn't feel right to get it to the temperature I wanted. You want fires not, not chilled air now. Haha!) Other than that, it was lovely. Free WiFi, parking and breakfast. The room was clean and spacious. The front desk was always so kind, friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Betty to truly getting to know us and to Emily for handing us out mail and packages without us having to ask! They refilled all of our supplies and provided fresh towels whenever we needed them! The housekeeping every 7 days was amazing too! For a Holiday Inn Suites I was impressed at this relatively new location. We were driving back from visiting a friend in Indiana and on the toll road while we found out our first choice - the Wyndham on Waukegan was booked full so we chose this as an alternate. I think it was a much better choice. Spacious room with 2 bedrooms and a living area - we each had our own king beds to spread out on. Kitchenette complete with fridge and utensils. TVs in the front room and two bedrooms along with 2 full sized baths and a nice kitchen table. Excellent HVAC system. I'd stay here again. Cocktail receptions and continental breakfast bar. Workout room and coin laundry. Indoor pool and outdoor BBQs. Mini store and internet computers in the business center. The only thing preventing a full 5 *'s - the desk clerk was a bit of a grouch checking us in. Conveniently close to the 294 Toll Road - accessible to the 94 Expressway but expect traffic during peak hours. Close to the new Glenn or whatever that complex is down the road with shops and restaurants. Costco and Harley Davidson dealers are across Willow Rd. All in all a very favorable impression of what my hometown used to be like before I moved away. I'd come back here again. It was nice to see a thunderstorm roll in. We were in town Christmas week visiting family and needed a dog friendly hotel. For under $100 a night, my expectations weren't super high. However, we are blown away by how much value you get at this little cozy spot tucked away in the suburbs. If you are a dog owner like me, you know how hard it is to find a decent dog friendly hotel that doesn't charge you at least $150-$200 a night. First of all, the location is perfect. The MD-N train that takes you into Chicago is 0.5 miles away. No car? No worries. The hotel offered complimentary shuttle within 5 miles. Breakfast is also complementary until 9:30am. While we were here, they even fed you at night. It wasn't a huge dinner spread, they had a decent salad bar and some cheeses and meatballs. I saw a sign in the dining area staying you also get a free draft beer or glass of wine each night. I didn't take advantage of that but if you are interested, it wouldn't hurt to as during your time of booking. All the rooms are mini suites with bed, desk, couch, tv, and personal kitchen with sink and a full size fridge. Bathrooms..well, it's just a clean bathroom. As for our 4-legged 40lb family member, she was quite happy too. The pet fee charge was a flat one time $75, which is cheaper than kennel. I believe if you are staying more than a week, the fee is $150 (one time fee). Service was amazing! read more

Just OK. Nothing special about it. Didn't have housekeeping at all even though we requested it and we were there for 4 nights. Had to swap out towels at the front desk and get extra tissue, etc. the lack of housekeeping should be reflected in the nightly rate. Hallway and our room smelled like marijuana. I thought " no smoking " meant any kind of smoking. Furniture worn and room not the cleanest. It was impossible to maintain a constant temperature in the room. The air conditioning actually came on in March when we were trying to get the temperature from 71 to 69. The supposed body wash in the shower must have been mislabeled because it never produced suds and was the consistency of body lotion. Can't wait to get home and have real soap. Barking dogs in the hallways. Room was spacious and breakfast was actually quite good. Kudos to the employee in the breakfast area that kept everything clean and well stocked. My co workers flight to Chicago was just canceled due to a snow storm we are expecting and when She called Staybridge Suites to cancel her reservation, She was told that they could not issue a refund! Instead, She was given 10,000 reward points to a membership program that she doesn't even belong to! The 10,000 points do not even amount to the 2 nights that she paid for! I am very upset with their customer service! The weather is clearly out of our control and the hotel should not be refusing to refund money since she was forced to cancel the reservation. I would not waste my time booking here - especially since Chicago has many snow storms and if you are forced to cancel your reservation, Staybridge Suites will NOT issue a refund. BEDBUGS BEDBUGS BEDBUGS. DO NOT STAY HERE! SPECIFICALLY ROOM 414! And beware the completely unapologetic and unhelpful staff. The GM did not address my concerns until 16 hours after I delivered a bedbug that I caught on the bed as I was sitting in it. I had to sleep in my car that night. Let that sink in. I imagine one of the staff will respond to this post stating that an inspection was done and that I'm not being truthful. Why in the world would I waste my time on here if it weren't true! Please please do not stay here. It is immoral that they are not looking further into this to ensure their guests do not get attacked by bed bugs or unknowingly transport them home. They REFUSED to refund me for the one night I stayed when I was bitten during my sleep. I assumed/hoped they were mosquito or spider bites, but had a sneaking suspicion. The second day my suspicions were confirmed when I saw the bug scurrying towards me before I settled in for the night. Not only did they take forever to address the situation, they had a pest guy come out (half a day later) who claimed there were no signs of bedbugs (even though I saw blood stains on the mattress cover and CAUGHT A BED BUG). Further he said he wasn't even sure what I caught was a bug at all and was going to take it with him to "inspect" it. At this point, it was clear to me that his professional opinion was not trustworthy. I made clear, in writing, that I wanted the specimen back so I could independently test it. The GM agreed and promised further reports. He then turned around the next day saying he considered the matter "case closed," denying my experience! I sent a photo to a close friend who has been an outstanding GM in the hotel industry for over a decade. He confirmed without a doubt: bed bugs. It was unmistakable. He also found the management's response abhorrently unprofessional and inverse to industry standard (full refund, clothes laundering, replacement of luggage). I do not understand how a business can be run this way. Not only alienating your customers with poor service, but also fating future guests to be bitten by bed bugs, and heavens forbid, take them home! We are talking potentially thousands of dollars of pest control if that happens. This is a COMPLETELY UNETHICAL way to run a "hospitality" business. More like "hostility." Now I'm left worrying. I did everything I could to ensure they didn't come with me, but only time can tell. I would not wish this experience upon my worst enemy. I try not to be too angry because I know that people who behave and conduct business this way have serious internal turmoil and that karma does its job well. In hindsight, I wish I had called each hotel and asked about their bedbug history. I thought a quick online search for bedbug reviews was enough: IT IS NOT! Do your due diligence if you want to avoid bed bugs. My writing this review is a PUBLIC SERVICE to you. Please do not needlessly subject yourself to this horrific and stressful situation. read more

I love this place. They allow to have a car parked here if traveling. Great breakfast and customer service. Nice rooms too.

This place is lame... totally lame! So... My wife and I upgraded to the "Gold" level for the rPriority Rewards program and this place does not honor any of the benefits of the program... not one... That is the ONLY Reason I booked this hotel. Should have stuck with Marriott! Pissed that I spent the $200 to upgrade for the year! Note to rewards program consumers... Don't do it! We had an excellent stay at this hotel. A snafu with the reservation (my fault) ended up getting us a better room at no extra charge. The room was spacious, clean, and came with a kitchenette. read more

I have been a guest here since May 2014. I am on an extended stay plan. This hotel is great for a short stay (less than a week), but I would not recommend staying longer than that. Although the staff is very friendly, they were not upfront with me initially about their billing processes. I had to speak to someone at the front desk several times before they corrected the issue. Additionally, they deactivated my room card when they thought that I hadn't paid only to find out that it was an oversight. The hotel has a funny smell so you may want to being your own glade plug-in. Additionally, when the hotel ran out of towels, they replaced mine with dirty towels. I will not be staying at this hotel again. I was initially confident to give this location a try after staying once before, but I will be happy when my extended business trip is over. read more

Staybridge Suites - Dirty "Fresh" towels - Hotels Near Me - Glenview, Illinois

We had to stay here due to the hotel being blocked off for a funeral group. We did get the Berevement rate. They wanted us to pay for three nights, said it would be fine to leave early, which we did leave one day early. Checking in. Room very dated, furniture worn. But decently clean. The master bathroom was the exception. Hair and mold in corners I cleaned before taking a shower. The walls are VERY thin. Babies crying, dogs barking at all hours. When we left the room the next morning, we noticed the door handle had a screw that was about to fall out. We tightened it as best we could and went on to the funeral and wake. Next morning we let the front desk know about the screw when we went down for breakfast. They sent a maintenance man up to work on it while we were packing up to leave. He could not find a screw to fit the door and said he would be back after we checked out. We left the handle off the door as he instructed and checked out. Two days after we checked out we get hit for damage charges that equaled another nights stay. Said a lamp and an end table were damaged. We were barely in the room except to sleep. We requested photo proof of the damages, as all of our luggage was out of the room while the maintenance guy was there, you would think he would have noticed any damage. I am beyond angry at this hotel and would not ever recommend this place to stay, they will scam you when you are back home and take advantage of those who are grieving. read more

Staybridge Suites - Front of the hotel - Hotels Near Me - Glenview, Illinois

We have stayed here on several occasions, (prior to yelping). Love that we can bring the dog & the hotel isn't "doggy". It is clean, close to lots of eats & good things, including Whole Foods & Costco. We love all the space of suites, the couch, the work desk & space to work at the kitchenette. For the pups, great grassy spots around the hotel, walking path (in the summer). On the bummer side, some dog owners are not as responsible as they should be & litter is to be watched out for. Come on people!! Take some responsibility!! These suites are home away from home 2+/yr for us. We love the hospitality & the location. read more

I can't imagine what happened since that five star review in 2009 but this place sucks. The sheets on our bed were not changed. They had actual creases left from the previous occupant. It was awful. They have a big sign on the door about free internet but I had to get on the phone with some tech support guy who told me their router was busted. He manually logged me in to the slowest internet I've had since phone modem days in the nineties. It was useless. Oh, and the towels are tiny and rough. Stay away from this place. Being able to bring your dog is nice but I think you'd be better off having him take you to his kennel. read more

Somewhat pretty good week long stay as my wife and I visited with our daughter in Chicago. The check-in went ok, the folks working behind the counter were casually dressed so don't expect anything more. The first night we were placed above the elevator room and darned was that noisy and there was the smell of the elevator's hydraulic oil. We moved the next night to a quieter room down the hallway but then you could hear noise from a tv playing either above us or from the next room each night until at least 1am. By the way the TV sets once tuned to a channel for whatever reason are bright and then somewhat dim in brightness. This wasn't a big deal since we only slept there at night after doing things all day and we didn't watch much TV anyway. Since the weather was pretty hot for this third week in September ( 90º+ ) we had to use the air conditioners which are not exactly quiet as the compressors are located not far from the heating ducts into the rooms. This is a pet friendly suite hotel so if you absolutely do not like the sound of something like, say, a barking dog, you might well not want to stay here. It didn't have any pet smells that I could detect like in the old days when smoking in rooms was pretty much allowed in hotels. We had an occasional bark from some dog across the hallway but that was for a very short period of time. I had no smells from pigs, goats, horses, cows, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, cats or mice as if they'd be anyways. I'm not certain what pet friendly means as I've never had the opportunity to travel with animals. The beds were comfortable and the prices were reasonable for this area and we felt pretty safe in this Glenview Chicago area. You don't hear any traffic inside the rooms from any roads or highways nearby. What I found interesting were the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday free wine or beer that was served along with pretty good food for buffet indoor dining for free. Also enjoyed their buffet style breakfasts with plenty of fresh fruit. Overall a pretty A-OK place to stay that is on the outskirts of Chicago city and about a 20 to 30 minute drive north of Dulles International Airport. I'm happy that my wonderful daughter played the "role" of an Uber driver for the week my wife and I were there. Boy that felt great to be chauffeured around town and she's an amazing person. As a side note: (Luckily there is an urgent care center in an adjacent building next to the suites because I just so happened to need the use of their services unrelated to the hotel stay). read more

I frequent the IHG family of hotels a lot. Being a Spire member has its benefits. This Staybridge has been well maintained. The staff is very courteous and eager to assist in anyway possible. Grocery stores, malls and gas stations are close by. It's quiet and about 10 minuets from our office. read more
