We spent one night here and the price was right. Very good location. Walking distance to subway and great food options. Front desk(cersay?) was friendly and helpful. The Bed was comfortable, although sheets were worn. Our room had a good view of the city and bridge. We didn't try the free breakfast. Would stay here again.

With the 3pm check-in she was ready to rest. Still waiting for linen to be dropped off.

In town to drop our kid off at college.. Chose this place because it was close and had suites. Knowing what I know now, I should have listen to my wife and booked a double room at the Hilton. Price: $289.00 per night. Worth it? I don't think so. Service: Noticed an old metric being used as to who gets service. Build Construction/ Quality: The Ceilings are the exposed concrete underfloor of the floor above. Elevator: The 2nd floor is below ground level. Push down to get there. Location: Not in the best part of town. The construction outside of the property forces pedestrians to use part of the hotel front entry as a sidewalk. Noticed some guest get confused and walk in the road when leaving. SNAFU! Security: None on-site. Constant harassment from hustlers/ beggars outside of the establishment. Would I stay again: No. This place feels like a renovated Motel 6 with a business center.

Stayed here for a couple of days (Friday, Saturday) in early August. The area seems safe although somewhat in transition. (There is an empty lot right across the street). They have recently renovated and my room was clean and a decent size given NYC. They do have a decent breakfast (Eggs, Waffles, Sausage) and some snacks and beverages (including a couple of beer brands) Didn't have a chance to get to the fitness room but the highlight was the rooftop area. You get a great view of the city & it's a nice space to unwind. Bring your own food and drinks. Parking is limited so if you want a space in the hotel lot and you are checking in late, would advise calling ahead to see if a spot can be reserved. If full, there is a garage (not Marriott) about 2 blocks away which is about the same price. Staff was helpful and friendly. Overall, a good stay if most of what you are doing is in Brooklyn (and you don't mind a 1/2 hour+ Uber, drive, or train ride to get to Manhattan).

This is the dingy mattress that has no mattress protector

Room is very small, bed had no mattress protector, bed looked like someone already slept in it, bathroom had hair all over, was move to another room with no microwave and that bed was worst, closet was not dusted, C/IN was awful. Sheets and pillowcases were old #NewSheetsPlease. Just where you are located is a plus but my stay was awful and I will not be returning.

We were going to stay at the Sheraton Brooklyn, but their lobby was under construction, so we decided to give the Fairfield Inn another try. They advertised that their rooms had been renovated. In our prior stay, we gave a 3-star Yelp review, citing issues with: 1. The HVAC in our room was poor. It was either very cold or very hot. 2. The fitness room is in the basement, has no windows, and the HVAC was really poor. 3. Our room was very small and had no place to sit. 4. The high-speed Wi-Fi did not work. We called the front desk to ask for assistance, and they said there was no support line or anyone we could call. When we checked in, they said there were no rooms upgrades available, but we had a quiet room on a high floor. We took the lethargic elevator up to the 11th floor and found the hallway carpet and wall coverings looked new. Upon entering the room, we did find it renovated, with a new carpet and wall covering, and clean and updated looking bathroom. Though the renovations were clearly an improvement, the underlying infrastructure remained the same. The four issues noted in our first review can be repeated, almost verbatim. 1. The HVAC in our room was poor. It was either very cold or very hot. We asked maintenance to assist. When we returned, there was a note on our wall that the thermostat was out of order, but the temperature could be controlled directly on the unit. This did work better, but there remains HVAC issues here. 2. The fitness room is in the basement, has no windows. But - the HVAC was working on this visit, and the fitness room was updated. 3. Our room was very small and had no place to sit (other than a desk chair). If someone was at the desk, there was insufficient room to walk past them to the closet. 4. The high-speed Wi-Fi did not work. We called the front desk to ask for assistance, and they said there was no support line or anyone we could call. Their security certificate said it "was not from a trusted authority" and couldn't be authorized. Finally, after trying every browser, Firefox was able to call up their login screen. The staff is polite and friendly, a free breakfast is included (though the eggs tasted like they were from a mix), and the hotel is in a pretty good location, on the edge of Park Slope. Would we stay here again? Only if there wasn't a better choice available. Message to the Fairfield Manager - fix the HVAC and Wi-Fi!!

Bites on arm

Unfortunately, my biggest nightmare became my reality. I was originally booked from 7/19/2023 to 7/23/2033. On the morning of 7/21/2023 I woke up with bedbug bites. Immediately, I informed the front desk staff. After waiting for nearly 20 minutes, a few housekeeping staff came to inspect the bed. These staff members claimed to be "bed bug experts." Due to the fact that they were unable to find any live bugs on the bed or box spring, they declared that there was not a bed bug issue. However, it does not take an expert to know that bed bugs can hide ANYWHERE. One staff member claimed that my bites were mosquito bites. Unfortunately, I had previous experience with bed bugs and knew the difference between a bed bug bite and a mosquito bite. Despite, no evidence of live bugs there were other signs of bed bugs aside from the bites. 1. The first night that I arrived, I was greeted by a musty smell in the room. 2. After the housekeeping staff left the room, I further inspected the bed and found small blood specks alongside the edge of the bed. I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and therefore they could not put me in another room. The hotel manager informed me that if I was uncomfortable with staying, they could cancel the rest of my stay and try to find me accommodation elsewhere. While waiting for my work company to make arrangements for accommodation, I was rushed by hotel staff to make a decision of whether or not I was staying at the hotel. He explained that if I was not going to stay, they would need the room for another guest. This just proved that none of the staff members took my concerns of bed bugs being present in the room seriously. The hotel was more than ready to occupy a room with bed bugs to another guest. This is just shameful and awful because they did not even hire professionals to rectify and further investigate the issue. Though staff members were nice and as helpful as they could be, it was very sad that they were willing to let another guest go through the same traumatizing experience as I did. Other thoughts on hotel: the reason why this hotel was chosen was because of its location and in/out parking privileges. Although there are limited parking spots, the hotel further limits guests but not allowing any vehicles to park near the fence. Though parking was very limited, I thankfully never had any issues finding parking at the hotel. Additionally, the breakfast choices were limited compared to other hotels and there was not a fridge or microwave in the room. The room's sheets, pillows, curtains, and shower curtains all need to be retired and replaced immediately.

I must start by saying the customer service here is amazing and in my opinion the #1 reason I'll stay here again in the future. I took a late flight I into JFK and had the most idiotic cab driver on EARTH who didn't have a GPS and didn't know how to get to this hotel in downtown Brooklyn. I called to confirm the cross streets that appeared on my map because the IDIOT driver said they didn't sound familiar. Efrain answered and relayed the exact same street names I previously told the driver and went on to inform me that the cab drivers are idiots and he also stayed on the phone as long as possible to give turn by turn instructions to the driver to get me to the hotel Safe which was AMAZING... I checked in speedy and efficiently with Efrain who gave me a lay of the land and information about my client location which I would be reporting to the next morning and even set me up a car service for the next morning to the client. I arrived in the lobby 18mins before my car scheduled arrival time. I was pleasantly greeted by the young lady with braids or twist at the front desk. I headed down the stairs to the breakfast section to grab an apple and oatmeal and was again greeting with a smile by another wonderful staffer. While observing the food choices which ranged from scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, potatoes, oatmeal, etc.. I was again welcomed by the fourth employee who was replenishing the raisins for the oatmeal. I am very big in customer service so this made my day that there are people who exist on this earth still in the service industry who actual appreciate being employed and don't sit with a screw face all day. The awesome thing is that for the four days I was there this was consistent behavior from various staffers and consistency is key. The room is a decent size for NYC, my view showed the city including the Brooklyn Bridge and a train elevated above the city. Great view.. The reason this review isn't 5 stars is because on my last night I worked after returning from business and when I entered the bathroom to shower there were no face towels so I called down and was told someone was on the way. I waited for about 14mins before calling again and was told he would be right there. The guy appeared 2 mins later and told me that he was searching for face towels because no one working that evening knew where that towels were, HUH.. The face towel he presented me was so extremely thin and rough enough to exfoliate you body and face. "It was all good just a day ago " the towels were plush and had a good smell. These towels NO SO MUCH :-( Housekeeping FAIL

Being a Hilton Honors member made check-in a breeze, and I was even gifted complimentary water upon arrival, which was such a thoughtful touch. The room itself was clean, cozy, and perfect for a short stay. The view from my window was amazing especially at night and I loved how quiet it was, making it easy to fully relax after long days out. They also have great amenities like a gym and a breakfast buffet every morning. The waffle machines, fresh fruit, and coffee were definitely highlights and a great way to start each day. Mallory at the front desk was so sweet and made checkout just as smooth as check-in. I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, and everything about this visit felt seamless. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in New York!

If you're walking here at night... *shrug* you might feel unsafe. The front desk area is encased in some type of bullet proof glass/thick plastic... And the security guard sits across from the front desk. So they either have been robbed or own a bodega cause it has that same feel. (IYKYK) front desk guy barely said anything beside "ID and credit card" they make a copy of your ID, you sign a form that you're ok with them charging your card for incidentals, and they send you on your way. He didn't tell me what room I was in. He just wrote it on the key card. O_O. Grade A customer service. Ok. Cool. There are taped up print outs about noise, a smoking fee you'll be charged X amount if they catch you... PEOPLE ARE ABSOLUTELY SMOKING IN THIS PLACE. They may rather you not but that fee ain't stoppin nobody. (Someone randomly walked down the hall last night spraying spray to rid the smell -- it didn't.) There are Rules about how many people are allowed in what type of room. Which gives the impression that it probably gets wild during the spring/summer. The room it's self is cool. Everything seems clean. Everything has wear/tear and seems/is worn. The walls are INCREDIBLY thin. (The guy in the room next to me is currently talking on the phone about doing shrooms, bougie b!tches, and his mans needing to get his drivers license) is he in the room next to me or is he sitting in the couch in this room? I was also told he could offer a 30% discount. I went up to check the room and when the elevators doors opened, it was even hotter on the 3rd floor. Anyone's who's had the pleasure of engaging in business travel knows that it's long hours getting to and from the job site, not eating Michelin star meals but more often at chain restaurants, and of course, not staying at the Ritz Carlton...but at places like TownPlace Suites in Brooklyn. I just finished up a multi-week stay here for a big project. It wasn't terrible; but also not amazing. I'm a Marriott loyalty member, so I try and book at these properties if given the choice. Located in the Gowanus/Park Slope neighborhood, it is conveniently located a 2-3 min walk from the Union Street MTA stop; which is good since there really isn't a lot of parking associated with the hotel. The Good: * Central location - My NY office was near the Barclay's center, so I walked daily to and from the hotel. And it is within a 15-20 min of the always Park Slope neighborhood replete with trendy restaurants and shopping. And being near a MTA stop is a HUGE plus since it also made getting to NY Penn station easier. * Included breakfast - It's not anything fancy, but it's nice not having to spend any Per Diem on breakfast. Surprisingly, the coffee is flavorful and strong. In additon to dairy creamers, non-dairy (Oat and Soy Milk) creamers are also provided. Otherwise, it's the usual assortment of pastries, cereal, and hot items like sausage/bacon, powdered eggs, etc. Again, nothing fancy but it's nice at 6:30am to just hop on the elevator and be able to grab breakfast without having to leave the hotel. * Room layout - Upgrades to this property include Container Store branded Elfa shelving in the closet. This proved more helpful that I thought since I was able to place my roller bag at waist level for easy sorting; and hanging suits and other clothing was convenient. As usual, for business travelers, an iron and mini-ironing board are also provided. Bathroom was clean and the shower had good water pressure with wall mounted body wash, shampoo/conditioner. Kitchenette with microwave and sink was also handy. You can request a mini-induction cooktop if you want to prepare any food. * Daily housekeeping - This "perk" seems to be rapidly disappearing across hotels. It was nice to have housekeeping refresh towels, come back to a made bed, and trash emptied. * Fitness center - I used it a few times. Treadmills, stationary bikes and some weights. Not bad if you want to get a workout in. The Bad: * Thin Walls and Door - Many reviews note the "paper thin walls," and I agree with that assessment. As referenced, this is not the Ritz Carlton, so don't be surprised if you "accidentally" overhear your neighbors convos if they're speaking loudly. The hotel has a "quiet hours" policy between 10pm-5am, but I can attest that several nights, inconsiderate guests returned around 1-2am and were quite rowdy which I'm sure awakened everyone along the hallway. * Loud HVAC unit - more and more hotels are switching to the "invidual window HVAC units." I get it. Installing central air heating and cooling units in each room is cost prohibitive. But these window A/C units are so loud that it makes sleeping difficult * Transitional neighborhood - The immediate area is "safe," but a few nights when my colleagues were walking back from the Union Street MTA, there is currently an empty lot where there were some "questionable" people hanging around...and I'll leave it at that. I'm sure in another 3-5 yrs, a high rise selling million dollar condos will be erected. This is NYC, so don't be shocked by the prices. I paid the corporate rate, so my pricing is not representative for what a "regular" customer would pay. TBH, for downtown Brooklyn this TownPlace Suites isn't bad.
