We filled out the application (which took about half an hour) and after a few days got a generic rejection email. Quite frankly I find it extremely rude to not be given ANY sort of reason in the rejection and not even get a chance to speak to a real person to make your case. After looking though some of these reviews it seems that it may have been a "difference of philosophy" due to us letting our cat out into our fenced in backyard entirely supervised. If that's the reason just please say it so people don't have to speculate, and incredibly rude. You didn't even ask to see the setup we have and are just assuming we are irresponsible. I am well aware of how cats can go missing for being outside and I have neighbors who let their cats free roam which I am strongly against. Maybe try talking to the potential adoptee before rejecting an application. Yet again maybe that isn't even the reason our application is rejected. Too bad they don't tell you anything... To whoever rejected our application, we will be adopting another cat. So whatever you think you're doing by rejecting our application is just making it harder for that specific cat to find a home. You will find that the horrible fate that you thought would befall the cat we wanted to adopt from you will not be happening to our new cat. Considering that there are so many displaced pets due to the fires by LA, it seems pretty wasteful to be quite so picky with adopters. I would consider donating to other organizations such as your local humane society over these guys, since they don't seem very keen on actually placing pets in homes.

They let us spend time with a while bunch of kittens before we decided on Langley now named Luci. Luci is the most well adjusted, friendly, fearless, playful little spazz every! Kimberly was informative, helpful, and friendly with providing information and letting me see her foster. She was patient and let me spend as much time as I wanted with the kitty to get acquainted with her. Mary handled the application and provided an abundance of information regarding the adoption process and bringing kitty home. She went through our information that we filled out in our application and asked us any questions she needed to know in regards to potential adoption, which makes perfect sense in wanting the best for their foster cats! It's a complete waste of your time, and you'll end up leaving frustrated regardless of what your need is. Read through the reviews posted in 2021, and you can see that they all speak for the same experience I had. Try another rescue. I have 2 separate occasions when I contacted them - (1) when I tried to adopt a second cat, and (2) when I found a stray kitten and tried to get it taken to a rescue. Both occasions went to total trash. For situation #1, I was denied because apparently there are too many coyotes and raccoons living in my area (La Mirada). I live in a area right next to an elementary school where kids walk to school everyday. I've yet to see a coyote or a raccoon in this neighborhood, clearly they don't know their geography and don't do any research. For situation #2, they asked for a photo of the cat, and after sending the pictures no reply ever since. I have a feeling they'll only take kittens that look pretty and would sell for money, which defeats the purpose of a rescue to begin with. Don't waste your time here unless you want to leave with a bad taste in your mouth.

about a week ago a stray cat wandered into my backyard looking extremely sick, but she was super…read morefriendly so i took her in and rehabilitated her, and immediately made an appointment for her to be spayed! ampm was the only place within my price range and super close to me, so we took my cat kiki to get her spayed and every single staff member was so so kind!! it got really busy since it was a saturday morning, but they took their time to explain everything thoroughly and made sure we understood and knew what was happening along the way. unfortunately my cat did have an infection in the uterus called pyometra, but the vet called us and explained what is was and how it would affect the costs & procedure since it qualifies as an emergency. usually surgeries to take out pyometra would be around $2k or more, but ampm only added $500 as an emergency charge on top of the $135 spaying cost (set weekend price) which honestly is not bad at all!! once the procedure was done, we picked up kiki and a very kind employee (man with dark hair) gave us a very clear and detailed run down of after-care as well as medication dosing, how to give the medication, food intake, side effects, and how the surgery went overall! these people were extremely kind and so caring and its just so nice to have that extra reassurance as a pet owner. they also offered vaccine shots that we ended up giving kiki as well! they put her in a typical plastic cone but its honestly a little uncomfortable for any animal to sleep in or eat with, so i bought my own soft cone on amazon for cheap that does the job and its better for them when sleeping & eating (it also makes a happier animal too)! anyway, i would highly recommend this place to anyone!! they will take excellent care of your babies! :)

Now taking my second cat, I scheduled an appointment and upon arriving to my appointment the receptionist said my appointment was canceled. I Told them I didnt cancel the appointment and they had no regards of helping me fix the problem. They didn't explain that once they call you and if you don't answer the appointment gets canceled and now your 25$ deposit goes to the cancellation fee. No where on the website says that ONLY 1 call confirms the appointment. No voicemail is left either. I had to go figure out what happened to my appointment since no information was given to me, only a date of my email and in that email it stated that if i didn't show up to the appointment my deposit will go to cancellation fees, and the date of the call but didn't explain that if i didn't answer my appointment would be cancelled. I had paid the deposit for my appointment already to confirm. AMPM did not even tell me my appointment was canceled. This system needs to be fixed. Read some other reviews stating the same problem.

I initially adopted two brothers in early spring of 2024, but tragically lost one of the brothers to a freak house fire. But when we got our very first kitten 15+ years ago from a cousin's litter, we quickly learned that she was lonely and really needed a friend. Lesson learned, rescues aren't trying to be difficult, they're trying to do right by the animals (and yes, we later got her a friend ). Our family adopted our cat, Salsa, from Stray No More about three years ago. Her story broke my heart, she had been tossed in a garbage can outside of a Petco, and the employees brought her to Stray No More, who immediately stepped up to care for her. At the time, we weren't sure if we were ready to adopt another cat, so the rescue let us take her in as a foster-to-adopt. I think this is such a thoughtful option for people who want to "test the waters" before making a lifelong commitment. It didn't take long for Salsa to show us she was already home. My son fell in love with her spunky energy and mischievous streak right away, and we knew we couldn't imagine our home without her. Three years later, she's still keeping us on our toes with her "tortitude" and making us laugh daily. I'm so grateful that Stray No More was there for Salsa when she needed it most, and now a volunteer, I've seen firsthand how much care and intention they put into their adoption process. If you're looking to adopt, know that their guidelines come from a place of love for the animals and the joy of finding the right match is absolutely worth it.
