We were looking for dinner on our last night in Paris, which was a Thursday night. We came across this restaurant as we were walking. There seemed to be open tables inside. We walked in and the maitre'D rudely told us they were booked and full all night and to leave. No apology or even a sense that he would have liked to serve us. It dawned on us pretty quickly that we were refused because we were Americans. Now granted that is speculation, and not necessarily fact...however what was factual was that the entire clientele of the restaurant that we could see were French, and the Maitre'D was clearly annoyed to have have to speak English for a moment. We went elsewhere and when we walked by again later that evening there was still an open table for two we could see. So, fellow Yankees....don't bother going where you're not wanted. Plenty of other restaurants and cafes throughout the wonderful city of Paris that will make you feel welcome, even if they are all booked up. read more
