We stopped here on the start of a crawl of the area breweries. We sat outside on the street since the day was absolutely gorgeous. It was a plus that they allowed dogs at our table. One of the wait staff even brought our dog a bowl of water. How sweet! The inside had a nice, clean vibe and the beer was delicious. Definitely check this place out.

Tasty beers, they have a sidewalk patio and indoor seating! They great light beer options- very easy drinkers. And a couple of sours for anyone interested!

I can't remember how I first discovered Faculty Brewing but I like the look and feel of the place. We happened to be in the area so we dropped by on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The place was pretty busy! The staff were friendly and let us sample a couple beers before deciding on what we wanted. Nice. I like how they had a couple board games up front if you felt like playing a game or two. Spotted a chess/checkers/backgammon board, snakes and ladders and cribbage. The vibe is very chill and laid back. It's cool that you're sitting right where the tanks are. The backstory is even better; they label their beers like university courses. Lower numbers are for light, easy drinking beers while higher gets more experimental and complex. - Sampler ($8.00 for four 120ml) - we decided to go with the minzeweizen (#241), saison (#305), chinook pale ale (#408) and citra pale ale (#418). We didn't care much for the chinook. The citra was better. Minzeweizen was interesting; seemed like there was some mintyness to it. Saison was pretty standard. - Oddity jasmine kombucha ($5.00) - this was our favourite! Turns out Oddity's kombucha brewery is right across the street. Incredibly refreshing and floral, we could drink this all day. The beers were decent but the kombucha stole the show! 3.5 stars.

On my quest to hit all the craft breweries in Vancouver, Faculty Brewing was next on my list. There are several more well known/established craft breweries in the area and this is an easy one to miss. The room is quite small with plenty of natural light and happy we were able to secure some seating. The staff were laid back and pleasant...no issue with the service. I like the concept of a craft brewery experimenting with new beers (as many do) but I would have preferred to have more options than the 4 beers on tap. I did want to sample the IPA but it was not available. I did sample the Extra Pale Ale and it was quite full flavoured with a moderate amount of hops...I think a 45 IBU. Faculty Brewing is another positive addition to the Vancouver craft breweries and happy to recommend it.

One of the newer craft beers in town. Can't believe I didn't know this place existed when it's basically within site of Craft Beer Market. Parking is available on the side streets if one looks around. As the name suggests, this place is probably a converted industrial building. I would describe the theme as "hipster industrial". Everything has sharp lines. It almost looks like a rendition of a future proposed building. Even their menu board adds to this feel, with their stencilled lettering and 3-digit beer codes. Staff were friendly, and my friends and I had our flights in no time. Flights are served on modified structural channels. I got a kick out of this for some reason. Very creative. Pricing for growler fills is quite reasonable, though the flights are a bit on the high end at $8. The beers were decent, but nothing really stood out to be honest. Not sure if they have a niche in mind, but I couldn't see one. With that said, the place is still new, so they're probably still playing around with their brews. I will be back again at some point for more imbibing goodness.

This is another great addition to Vancouver's brewery circuit. We were happy to stumble upon this spot as we were walking from another local brewery around the corner. This is a cozy place, not huge, and well-lit. It's got the typical set up of beer counter & sausages or pickles to order. Unfortunately, I only tasted two of their brews, but I really like the London Fog beer. It's unique and more delicate than other beer, but it still has the standard qualities of a beer. I would return just for this beer. I noticed they also offer bottles of beer for purchase out of their cooler, as well as the growler fills.

I love this little brewery. The atmosphere is always chill and I appreciate that it is never super loud (no need to yell at your friends). I find that they do a great job with their beer and always am impressed with their new brews. My favourite beer here right now is their chocolate porter and the citra pale ale. Both are excellent and I often leave with a growler for the weekend! Thanks for producing such a great beer!

Brew Pubs May have hit their saturation point in Vancouver. This place is a cookie cutter hip little brewery that does have a few gems in its beers... The London Fog is really good. Prices are surprisingly low for something so close to downtown. Growlers are only 11 bucks. Service is very cheerful. Place is small, and very busy most of the time.

Great micro brewery where they make small batches which means there is something new on rotation. They also make experimental brews that they showcase on Thursdays. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I especially love that I can bring my dog, as they welcome all well behaved doggos. As for food, they have some snacks available but you are also welcome to bring outside food.

My friends and I visited a few breweries for her birthday and Faculty was a new one for me. It's a small brewery in Olympic Village. A simple space with white paint and not much in the way of decorations or artistic flare. Most breweries try to have independent style with unique art and nicknacks, or a theme ect in either there tasting room, but Faculty is very simple. Friendly counter staff that greeted us promptly. We had to wait just briefly to be seated. I ordered a cider, which was one of two options, and I went for the sweeter one. It was a good sized bottle for $10 but not very good cider. It was very tart and bitter. I didn't really find it sweet at all and so would hate to try the other cider lol. Didn't try any beer. My friends had different beer and seemed to enjoy their drinks Jas. I didn't notice any real food, but we weren't there to eat so I am not too sure. I saw some Jerky though! It's probably worth trying the beer if you are a beer person because it was quite busy. We had a good time but there are limited selections and the place is small so expect a wait on a weekend.

A smaller brewery that services great beers. Great place to hang out and try their latest selections. Recommend if your in the area. I've been here a number of times and always enjoyed it.

When my SO and I found ourselves needing to get a few hours of easy work done on a Friday afternoon, we decided that a brewery with wi-fi was the ideal way to accomplish this. Since Faculty Brewing was founded by a former UBC professor and numbers its beers according to "course difficulty" (easy-drinking beers are in the 100s, while super complex stuff is in the 600s), this seemed like an appropriate place for us to wind up. Parking on the side streets off Ontario was easy enough, and we wandered in at around 2 PM. There was only one other guest in the brewery at this point. After tasting both the ESB and dunkelweizen, we each opted for a pint of the dunkelweizen to begin with. It was a solidly malty, well-rounded beer. I grabbed us a table near a plug point, obtained the wi-fi password, and we sat down to work. The work eventually finished itself, but we weren't done drinking. I got a minzeweizen (a peppermint hefeweizen!) for my next round, and my SO grabbed the blonde. By 4 PM, the brewery was totally packed. There are a lot of tech startups around this area, so I'm guessing Friday happy hour was in order. We also ended up filling a growler of the dunkelweizen to consume later in the evening. If you're tired of waiting ages and ages to get into 33 Acres or Brassneck, stop by and give these guys a try. Their tap list is decidedly solid in terms of both variety and deliciousness, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the tasting room is a really cool space to chill in.

KOMBUCHA
Angel L.

I really like this neighborhood kind of brewery kind of feel, location wise, it is very discreet. Inside, it is quite small and bustlin'. I tried oddity kombucha once at an event and fell in love. It was so refreshing, unlike any kombucha i've ever tried in my life. I did think that a tiny cup of kombucha for more than 5 bucks was a little steep, but still bought it because I knew how delicious it is (did not dissapoint). This little tasting room is really bright and inviting inside. Loved it. And it's kind of dangerous because it's a walk from my work. Will probably go back and join all the other hipsters.

Price list, note the metric measurements!
