I booked a 110-minute Swedish massage, but my massage therapist did not seem very experienced. There were several times when the therapist simply stopped massaging for 5-10 seconds, which felt odd and interrupted the flow of the treatment. I get massages regularly from several different therapists, and the quality I typically receive is far better--and considerably less expensive. If I returned, I would definitely ask for one of their most experienced and most requested massage therapists. I also had the Glacial Facial, which I would not recommend. Ice-cold equipment was used repeatedly throughout the facial, including after products were applied. I understand that cooling is part of the treatment, but I found the experience uncomfortable rather than relaxing. My total was approximately $600 with tip for the massage and facial. I had a $500 gift certificate and purchased no additional products or services, yet still ended up spending another $100. The setting and atmosphere are lovely, and I may give the spa one more try with a different therapist and service. However, I'm not sure the experience justified spending $600 for a massage and facial in Cleveland.

Woodhouse Spa in Rocky River offered a relaxing environment with helpful staff. I was greeted as…read moresoon as I walked in, was given a rope and slippers and offered complimentary snacks and flavored waters. They do have fancier drinks available for purchase as well. The massage was absolutely wonderful and Jessica did a great job focusing on tension spots I had. The only negative was that I added on a scalp massage, but instead of that service being "added on" to my 50 minute massage, it was included in the same time frame, so essentially I paid extra for my 50 minute massage to stay the exact same amount of time, just massaged on my scalp instead of the rest of my body. I felt this was a little unfair and hope the company changes that policy.

Julie was so kind and caring throughout the entire process and answered all of my (many) skincare questions. I felt super comfortable the whole time, which is important in an appointment like this. I feel bad leaving a less than glowing review, but I didn't love my experience here. I booked via…read moretext and phone call, and in both instances it seemed like I was being deterred from getting a deep tissue massage. I said I have had many massages before, almost all deep tissue. I received an almost lecture about how massages are getting more popular (?) and most people think they want a deep tissue massage, but they really want a Swedish massage with firm pressure. I was confused about the hesitance to book me for a service they offer and asked if there was different availability for deep tissue. I was told no. I booked my usual deep tissue. I arrived to my appointment 10 minutes early after having completed the forms online, and my appointment started over 20 minutes after my scheduled time. Before starting, my massage therapist made a comment while I was on the table that she doesn't know how so many people get deep tissue massages. I was already puzzled by the attitude towards my preference, and this was a strange way to begin what was supposed to be a relaxing experience. It was all just bizarre. Deep tissue massage seems to be a very normal thing for massage spas... I don't know why it is such a sticking point at Hand & Stone. The room was cold and felt sterile. I had a fan blowing on my feet the entire time. And the music was oddly techno/upbeat and not super relaxing. The sheets kind of smelled like stale hotel linens. It wasn't a luxurious experience by any means. I had requested special attention to my neck and shoulders, but it was a lot of limb work. All very well done!!! But very limited attention to my problem areas. Afterwards, my masseuse said she'd like to work on my neck and shoulders more next time... right before I received the pitch for the monthly membership. The experience felt very transactional. It may be suitable for monthly maintenance massages, but it definitely didn't feel like the special treat to myself that I was hoping for. I have been looking for a new spa, and think I'll keep looking for a new local option over corporate chains.

What a nice, clean, facility. The woman who did my waxing was very friendly, personable and gentle. Plus, the woman did pull out my nose hairs accompanied by boogers...she's a goddamn hero in my opinion. For anyone wanting to get their nose hairs plucked, I highly recommend it. Firstly, I thought this was going to hurt like hell, but it surpsised me as to how not painful it was. Secondly, I was absolutely disgusted/relieved/surprised by how much hair that grows in our noses (accompanying a now an irrational insecurity of my nose hairs), and lastly I swear I felt cleaner, breathed easier, and had minimal boogers.

My first visit, I was on time and ready to be sought when I had to sit and watch the employees keep referencing a "person" they were waiting on in which when I was about to leave another person said they would take me. This person didn't do so much of a good job and left me with red marks due to the wax getting stuck when she pulled it, but I gave grace because I hadn't had services in a while. I found a provider which was good the second time and so I scheduled again. This time, I ran into traffic and at the 9 minute mark I was there and ready when I was told a new policy of being 9 minutes was in effect ( not ten, just 9). No one could show me the said policy, I wasn't told there was one, and they admitted that I had not signed any documentation for their site which may or may not of had the said policy in it. My waxer wouldn't be available for another week or so when I have an event to tend to. I ended up leaving because this is unprofessional at best. I honestly think they overbooked her and wanted me to switch providers and I refused because I was comfortable with this one. Very disappointed and this may be the end of my service with the org.

BETTER NOT GET HAIR CLUB FOR MEN ! This is coming from a 23…read moreyear client of Hair Club for Men. One who can verify many of the same complaints others have stated and possesses the experience and knowledge to honestly offer prospective clients reasons to choose another reputable hair restoration/replacement specialist. I have dealt with hundreds of businesses and companies. Some were bad, but none, I repeat NONE, were as despicable as Hair Club for Men. It is a low-down dirty shame that I continued my faith in Hair Club - this well-known company in the business of hair restoration and replacement - only to be eliminated like this. I have been an impeccable client, never missed or was late for a payment, missed only one appointment due to a snow storm and was late for an appointment two times. I treated their employees with the utmost respect and tolerance. Much of the thousands of dollars I spent and many hours of time expended for travel and appointments were satisfactory or I would not have been a client for this length of time. There were occasions of unsatisfactory events that I overlooked for the continued good-standing with Hair Club. It has culminated into my being subjected to more occasions of incompetence, inferior hair systems and procedures, neglect, lies, and all-around unfair treatment. In the contract you will be compelled to sign this is known as Breach of Contract. For those contemplating the services of Hair Club. You will be impressed and extremely grateful for what Hair Club has done to enhance your appearance to the level for which you feel comfortable socially. The paradox is explained using a simile of addiction to drugs. Once your mind begins with the effects of the drugs you are hooked. Once you have established your appearance socially and with family and friends you are locked in to maintain that appearance. This is when Hair Club has you hooked. You will begin to be subjected to negligent treatment. Once you have established your appearance you must continue to maintain that appearance. This is Hair Club agenda. For my last six years the errors became obviously visible, unacceptable and continuous. There was a failure to correct the reoccurring dilemmas. Each year the replacement hair systems and service deteriorated while the cost continued to increase. The ever-changing succession of managers at my Hair Club facility located in Independence, Ohio will not do anything to help you. Present manager, Patricia, hung up on me two times when I phoned to ask to speak with my stylist about problems. I attempted to seek intervention for various errors with district managers and at corporate level. During my last six years I have contacted and exchanged emails with many of those who represent the various job descriptions in the district and within the Hair Club corporate offices in Florida. In the beginning I would get promised involvement to correct the problamatic errors. Always with, "I am implementing procedures to correct the problem." It was a lie - there was never a solution. It is contemptable that one will lie to a 23 year clent to merely postpone an occurrence for the same problem than make any effort to solve it. The problems continued and corrective measures ignored. Now my pleadings for help at corporate level ceased. Their response was "Someone will return your call" and "I will return your call." More lies. No one would respond to my telephone calls or email pleadings. These were not petty problems, rather, I have endured snide comments, embarrassment, and have been unable to attend functions due to visible incorrect procedures. Their only corrective measure, I must drive 140 miles round trip for a temporary fix. Now Hair Club's refusals to return my telephone calls or reply to my emails as well as failure to confirm my next appointment, as is their procedure, constitutes a willful unlawful termination of a contract that was in force for three more months until January 2024. I have been dismissed, removed, kicked-out because I dared to ask that obvious visible faults be corrected! Do not fall for Hair Club's enticing advertising like I did or initial consultation - you won't know the negatives like you will on web sites like this. Think ahead to the number of years you will continue with Hair Club. The longer you are a member the more circumstances of negligent treatment you will receive until your tolerence is depleted and you are compelled to leave or are terminated. As you have read, longevity does not guarantee any obligation from Hair Club. Why not save future effort - move on now. For those contemplating Hair Club over others. Hair Club for Men and affiliate Bosley are owned by Aderans Corporation of Japan. Ask yourself. Do you really want to contract for expensive hair replacement with a Japanese company 6500 miles from Cleveland? Hair Club is not your best choice - go elsewhere as I have.
