Truly a FABULOUS FIND! This consignment shop is the BEST I've ever seen. They carefully curate items so they have GREAT inventory. I have earned hundreds of dollars with my clothes from Anthropologie, Talbots, Anne Taylor, Nordstrom, Jones of New York, JJill, and more. I've spent my money at Fab Finds buying AWESOME garments from those same stores and others, but at super discounted prices. Literally a "Fabulous Find"! Worth driving for if you don't live in Longmont. Locally owned, and the owner herself helped me for quite a while to find an outfit for a wedding. The rest of the staff is helpful and not "in the way" as another reviewer said. Not in my experience anyway. The selection of clothes, purses, shoes, active wear, everything is excellent! Someone should do a social experiment on this place. I was referred to this place by a friend of mine. I had some couture clothing some still had tags on them and some of the clothing was accepted and most wasn't . I was treated not so wonderfully by a "Karen" who did intake and she even proceeded to tell me that a garment had been worn when it had not. It still had the tags on it with no visible signs of discoloration or wear!! When I told my friend about it she took the items in that they said were "well loved" and accepted it. Now the only difference was our skin color . It was the same dress. You tell me what happened. It looks like from the other reviews no one is treated particularly wonderfully. However if intake is being biased based on skin color that should be looked into. Never will I ever go back there ! read more

There are always a lot of employees (or maybe volunteers?) and it's hard to move around with all of those workers. Customers are not treated like customers, feels like we consign at the pleasure of the store and that doesn't make sense. When I go in to a store to consign, I also shop and buy. At Fab Finds I often feel like a bother when I try to consign. Saturday I was treated quite coldly when I tried to consign and offered a Tuesday appointment. I realize it's Covid but this wasn't an isolated incident. It's happened more than once. Oh, and I stepped on clothing on the floor that the put upon person who couldn't have cared less about me had laid out I guess for display, between the consigning counter and the jewelry counter. Really???? On a Saturday afternoon you do that in that already cluttered store? I've often wondered why, with all of those employees, they couldn't be much more more accommodating. Suggestions: Less employees Friendlier employees Easier consigning More room to move around I realize that this store is somehow affiliated with a local charity, but it's also a business and I assume profit is made, so I would expect more professionalism from the staff and consideration to the consignors. This shop could take a lesson from Rags in Boulder. Easy to shop, easy to consign, you don't have to bring everything in on a hanger, you're treated like a valued person. Years ago I enjoyed shopping here, it's within walking distance of my apt. But after the partners split up, the store just wasn't the same. It got overly crowded with racks of clothes, too many indifferent sales personnel (one scoffed at my weight and I was a size 6 at the time). I haven't shopped there in years, they're consigning much older clothes the last time I was there. This place caters to the old thinking and dressing crowd. The staff doesn't know clothes. And, in addition to taking 60% of sales they want to charge $2 to steam an item. It takes less than a minute for a good staffer to steam an item. Better to give good clothes to the Arc or Goodwill than to this place. It's a ripoff. read more

Here's the deal: this is a place is a mixed bag. I've found it to be a good place to go find some interesting pieces from time to time in the clothing-store restricted town of Longmont. I've bought many, many pieces here that I often get compliments on from men and women alike. I enjoy this store and hunting for treasures I've found. I'm also still in my 30s (barely), so there is stuff here for the under-60s crowd. However- I find half of the staff to be really difficult to talk to and the other half is only somewhat friendly. Everyone always seems stressed. They don't have good listening skills and often when I'm making a purchase I've felt like I'm annoying the person helping me. I've heard extremely rude comments about overweight people. The way they take consignment pieces also feels inconsistent- and I, too, had a designer pair of shoes "get lost" so I'm hoping that some lucky woman is enjoying those Coach flats. Don't get me wrong: I will continue to shop here, I've found some screaming deals, I recommend people go here. I like the idea of the shop. What I do wish is that the stress levels in the store weren't so high so it was a more pleasant shopping experience. read more

I brought in several pieces early in 2020. Granted they had to be closed due to the virus, but my 60 days was over after they had only been open a few days. I went to pick them up. I spent almost an hour finding just three. Found the skirt fairly quickly and asked for help for the others. 45 minutes later, found the shoes on a display way up high where they would never sell. Where's the Jones New York blazer? More help wandering the store. Please check in the 'back' again. Check; no blazer. So, they tell me they will let me know if they find it. I declined to leave. Please check the 'back' again. Lo and behold, there it was. Seems someone in the store must have had their eye on it and just waiting till time expired in the next few days. Looking back over the reviews from a decade ago, not much has changed. We're better than you demeaning attitude. Even when I have shopped there, got a snooty reception. read more

I brought in very nice designer items, many with tags still on. Nothing sold after six weeks but they were going to charge me $2 per item if I pick up the items early (before 60 days). On day 60; they only had six of my nine items (which I had to locate myself in the store). They said they "donated" two items because on further inspection they were pulled. Given the opportunity I would have picked them up. They weren't going to let me pick up a purse because they hadn't put it out immediately, not sure how that was my fault. I agree the staff was unfriendly and this was an unpleasant experience. The prices were ridiculously high, no wonder nothing sold. Much better off going to outlets or Marshall's. They were supposed to get back to me regarding my missing items. I had to call them. The designer top with tags sold, my cut was $2. Another item was put back out on the floor and I was told I couldn't pick it up for another 60 days even though I had tried to pick it up earlier! I do not recommend this shop. FIRST OF ALL THIS IS NOT A TRIFT STORE!! It is professional retail/consignment shop with taste. No easy task. I appreciate this creative business model and environmentally inviting store; it's retail approach serves the greater community with the customers ability to purchase clean, high quality items and enjoy the upside of consigning. I have shopped and consigned there since it's inception and will continue. Throughout the years, everyone who is employed has been helpful and, at times, humorous. Personally, I can't imagine what it takes to constantly keep track of all the moving parts with consigning. I applaud Clarissa and her team for all they do to keep the inventory moving and flowing so beautifully. Anyone who may have complaints about "this or that" pertaining to their last visit should speak to the owner personally, which is much more effective and personable then Yelp. Fabulous Finds is nice if you want to spend a lot of money... if you're looking for thrifty finds, even more "upscale" thrifty finds- this is not the place for you! I did buy a formal prom-type dress here for $19, but it was on 75% off clearance. This find was the exception, not the rule. Their throw pillows are typically in the $20-$70 range, so you can imagine the clothes prices. Also, the ladies in here are very "uppity" and not at all friendly if you don't know them. Some women came in that the staff seemed to know and they were treated well. I was barely glanced at, and the staff lady who rang me up kept talking to another customer the whole time. Literally the only words she said to me were my total, and "bye". Not a big fan. read more

My husband and I arrived 2-3 minuets before they opened at 10:00. Two ladies walked past us, unlocked the door, walked in, closed the door and locked it. Not 10:00 yet, I get it. But to not acknowledge us by a either a simple hello or we will open in a few minutes certainly set the tone on how they "welcome" their customers. Maybe because we were shopping and not selling we weren't welcomed, who knows? We did drove up from Arvada just to go to this store and we will NEVER be back nor will we be recommending this store to anyone. read more

I am not sure why this store only has 2 stars! Fantastic finds! I came to Denver to visit my daughter and shop for a few dresses. I live in Durango where our clothes shopping is extremely limited. Within an hour I found 3 dresses, necklace, shoes then cam back with my daughter who found 2 shirts and a sweater. Great prices, selection, and service. Extremely clean, extremely well-staged and definitely not a thrift store. I have never had any problems with consigning items - but I will say they are very picky, which is their prerogative and as a result, there's nothing junky in the store. For the most part, the staff is friendly, one or two have been "snooty". It is always busy and I've noticed that there are regulars that the staff will greet by name. Wait for sales, you are more likely to get a bargain. ETA: They've now opened a "full figure" standalone branch in the same section. I'm not full-figured but I peeked in. I was visiting from out of town and had an interview pop-up and didn't have an interview outfit, so I came here and Marlyn really stuck with us while I tried to find the perfect ensemble. We must have gone through 100 items to put together my perfect final interview outfit. Michelle and Kelly helped out too and their insights were much appreciated. Seems this place has changed...maybe management? Agree the staff aren't friendly and the store leans towards an older client but the consignment aspect of the store is really bad. I've been consigning here for years and done very well over the years, keeping the money in an account for shopping when I vist family in the area. Last Fall I brought in about 100 pieces; clothes, shoes, accessories and asked them to donate whatever they didn't want (I didn't want to wait for them to look through the items). Not only did I not receive a tax-donation receipt for items "donated" after several calls in January, mybdaughter wasn't able to find the items on the floor when she went to retrieve them before the 60 days. Additionally, the consigned items were charged a steam fee. The worst is that after 60 days the items become the store's property and they don't give you any of the money of these items sold. I'm out $175 for items sold after the 60 days and they kept it. I consign in NY, Connecticut and Atlanta, and this is the only place I've been to that has this policy. Needless to say, I won't shop here or consign here again and am spreading the word about their unscrupulous practices. read more

This place SUCKS! What a bunch of snots that work in this store. It's hilarious really. You would think, with the attitude, that their store would sell all designer labels (Louis Vuitton etc..) but it's all older lady brands. No idea why these ladies have an attitude selling Chico's...J. Jill and ColdWater Creek. I Will never bring my consignment to this store again as they lectured me on my clothes being wrinkled and not dry cleaned?! They were less then appreciative that I came in and I didn't get a thank you. Terrible customer service & their items are pretty expensive as I was looking around for an hour for them to go through and look at only 12 pieces I brought in. Ugh. Oh, this is the message I got from what appears to be the son of the owner (who else would be invested enough?) after publicly warning clients to keep all paperwork to protect themselves against theft from this business: "Dear Bitch, That review you wrote on Fabulous Finds. You must be a really big pain in every ones ASS. Take your menopause and go be a pain in someone Else's ass. Oh and good luck with your life of judging people. That sounds amazing. I don't care if others believe what my experience was with this store, because if FF continues with their current business model, truth will out--and you have been warned--or FF will change their business model to ethically adhere to the terms of their own written contract. I have to agree with the other reviews specific to the uppity personalities as well as the undisclosed consignment procedures. While they do hand a list of "consgnment info" to you, there is more that is not told: 1) If your items don't sell, you have the option to donate them (they get the donation credit) or pick them up. Picking them up means finding and pulling them off the racks. And they aren't particularly excited by the fact you opt for option two. They give you a list of the items and the location in the store where you theoretically find them (imagine finding your pair of jeans amongst a rack of hundreds). This is not an easy task. 2) If your items do sell, and you try to collect the cash, they "discourage" reimbursing you for amounts less than $15, so you have to wait till enough of your items sell to make it worth their while to send you a check. In addition to the standard consignment fee, your reimbursement is reduced by $1 for a "check writing fee". Seriously? I use Yelp constantly and rarely review stores or restaurants. This experience has motivated me to be a more frequent reviewer. This store is outrageous - I do not recommend consigning there. read more

Not very friendly staff. Hard to believe that a store that profits from items "YOU" bring in to consign, making them money, isn't friendlier. What is happening now is that there are so many items in the store that if you consign something with them it has little chance of selling. Plus, they randomly reduce the price of items giving you an even smaller margin of profit. I agree also on the comment that if you don't pick up your items they donate them, and receive credit for the donation. I am definitely not going to consign here anymore, but will go to the other consignment shop in Longmont which is much more friendly! read more

We did not have the easiest time here but I do not think this is a terrible shop - they just have their rules and you have to figure out how they work. Firstly, lots of clothing choices - whether you like them or not is up to you (read some of the un-recommended reviews - about 1/3 of them appear valid and some people Love the clothing here). Most of it was not my style but I can appreciate that it would make some else happy. Secondly, the consignment part is tricky - I bought two pieces (skirt + blazer) took them home and realized that the blacks did not match (should have taken them out in the sunlight at the store). Came back to the store and my only option was to reconsign them - at a much reduced value for me - one item sold quickly and the other item was lost (sounds like they sold it and did not keep track of the sale). It took a couple of phone calls and visits to the store but finally I was paid. My memory is they will not cut a check to you for an amount less than $20 - so you have to back to the store. Also, the store credit is higher for your items than the cash-back value. Finally, yes, I did find some of the ladies there condescending - but then again there was one sweet older lady and a friendly, helpful young adult - so it probably depends on which sale clerk you are lucky (or unlucky) enough to encounter! read more

I've tried very hard to like this store, but after several attempts, I'm done trying. I had the same experience as others, with salespeople not taking a second look at me, or if they do, it is down their noses. My only positive experience is that I sold some lamps there and now have a store credit. My latest experience was taking in a load of clothes and shoes, and trying to find something to use my store credit on. First, they took none of my clothing and shoes. It was all seasonally appropriate, some never worn, and high end brands (Ahnu, Eddie Bauer, Nike, etc). I was looking to purchase a new sweater for fall/winter. All I found were either something I'd wear to an 'ugly sweater party,' or in poor shape for what they were charging. I have plenty of sweaters with pilled sleeves, and don't need to spend $25 or more on a new used sweater with the same. The store is very crowded with clothing racks. They need to donate about 2/3 of the inventory, set aside the 'ugly sweaters' and older lady styles in one section of the store, and buy some clothing in good condition that women under 60 would appreciate. read more

Terrible business model. Their accounting for merchandise is not exceptible. They make me find my own jewelry for pickup out of something like 17,000 items in the store. When I couldn't fine two items it was tough luck. Which means they either make the full profit or the item was stolen. They also had credited someone else's account by error. Many other consignment shops to not have to use them. read more

I've only shopped at FF (never consigned, so can't speak to that), but find the shop to be well stocked and easy to peruse. The store is divided by clothing item (dresses, jackets, jeans, etc. with other sections that are more specific. The prices are fair and generally the clothing is clean and of good quality (only slightly used with very little wear present on most items). My only (slight) issue is with the fitting rooms, as they aren't as private as some would like. read more

If you are thinking about consigning your things, make sure it's stuff you really don't mind never seeing again because "magically" SEVEN pairs of my good brand new designer shoes went missing. I went to claim them two days before my expiration date to make sure it didn't get "donated" to their other outlet store, and looked every inch of both of their stores on Airport Road and couldn't find them. When I asked what my recourse was they said I could come back another day to look for them again. Well, if it's not there, it's not going to show up on another day. Some items of mine that didn't sale were priced higher than the original price I payed for my item! I think they get greedy by overpricing then boast about how they are so upscale. The owner boss lady was totally rude and unfriendly. Not a good vibe. I can't believe this place stays in business. Yuk. read more

Snooty sales staff, over and over again. I can't understand it. If they know you, they seem to be syrupy-sweet, all others seem to get looked at with the over the glasses and down the nose look. I have continued to shop at Fabulous Finds over the past year despite the rather unfriendly attitude of most of the employees, but after today's experience I'm done. There were two large signs outside the store stating "Today's Sales" with 25% of home decor, etc. I found something in home decor that I wanted but when I went to check out I was told that the sale didn't start until tomorrow. I asked them to sell me the item at the discount because of their error. The clerk was going to honor it but decided to bring in the owner who said absolutely not. They were not willing to hold the item either. All the owner did was go rip down the signs. read more

Well, I have taken quite a few clothes here two times. The first time, I had a better time than the first. They told me they would only look at 12 pieces of clothing. Even though there was no one waiting, they wouldn't take the time to look at more than 12, and I would have to come back the next week. I had a great deal of designer clothing, and they told me that some of it was out of season and to come back, or they had too much leather and bring it back in two weeks. Honestly, my time is worth more than the back and forth for a handful of dollars. I never heard from them as their website states - they didn't send me a check, I had to go in both times. When I went back, I didn't get back before my time expired (I think it's 60 days), so the consignment becomes theirs. They gave me a handful of dollars, didn't give me any sort of receipt or low-down on what had sold, and told me I could go find my things in the store if I wanted them back, they pointed me off in the general direction to dig for it. Ugh. I left feeling like I'd got the raw end of a deal. read more

SHOCK and AWE Just as I was using a search engine for "Fabulous Finds" to send directions to a friend, I saw your review. We cannot possibly be shopping and consigning in the same place. I consider myself a "frequent flyer" of Fabulous Finds (FFFF). Saturday, I was in the store as two women were on cell phone's calling their friends to tell them about something they thought they would like. (What size boot do you wear?) Living nearby, I visit this store at least twice a week. I too support locally owned business - independently owned or franchise. I frequent the spa, chiropractor, dentist, pizza and coffee shop often. (R.I.P Jack's) The other businesses seem thrilled with their expanding neighbor. Other businesses tell me about their "finds". Asking neighboring businesses etc. without attaching names to confirm "theft and fraud" is a travesty and slanderous. If you have worked extensively in retail, you know that businesses would never bad mouth a neighbor. These businesses are non-competing and are happy to see the others bring in clientele. I will speak for myself. (Perhaps you should stop by Robin chocolate for some sweet therapy.) I have consigned and purchased. And consigned and purchased etc. I have been called when my valuable items had not sold. I was asked whether I would like to lower the price, have them donated, or pick them up. At Fabulous Finds, the owners, staff and customers make me feel welcome. Although the line is evenly drawn regarding which of my items are acceptable and which are not of current style. There is no fraud or intent to steal. I am anxious to hear other's weigh in on their experiences! I cannot believe that this one squeaky wheel should be the last word. This is the most comforting store since Mountain Laurel on Kimbark. How often do you walk in the door of a business and actually relax? It's like slipping into a tub of water. The staff, owners, and even some of the other customers know me by name. Although I feel special, I realize that they know almost everyone's name. It is a new adventure every time and thus I have made a note to self, " items I am interested in will not necessarily be there later in the week when I return." Twice, I have taken friends to shop after work. Both times we spent over 2 hours and the doors to the business were kept open and our purchases gratefully received without rush or notice that "we're closed". As you state, the inventory is carefully looked over for any imperfections. The quality and the prices are indicative of what you are purchasing. I have found item's marked "as is" and had to ask "why?" Many times I wonder how people can part with such treasures and yet realize that one person's trash is another's treasure. I have many treasured items that I can only guess the history of. It goes without saying that when you do business you keep a record. I know, from experience, that if there is an item that is near and dear to you that you want back, it is YOUR responsibility to come back and find it amongst the millions of other pristine items. If your intent is to hit the jackpot or keep the item, perhaps you should try Craig's List. If you are not willing to give an item up or want top dollar perhaps you should not consider consigning. You are agreeing that you will not get the full sales price, and that any and all may be donated. This shop is not a flea market. Elated customers like me are now shopping locally for the experience ----- of being thrilled at a fabulous find. I feel that this establishment enhances the "greening" of Longmont. The re-use and offering of home décor, furniture, clothing, shoes, art, jewelry, and even other BIG BOX store's bags is all eco friendly. I have attended three after hour events. Not once was I pressured to buy a thing. I was graciously offered food and drink at no cost. Usually, I feel the need to have a friend accompany me to this type of outing. At Fabulous Finds, the owners, staff and customers make me feel welcome. I encourage those of you that see this post to weigh in. The place is crawling with tastlessness (customer service included) and it is visually gawdy when you walk inside. Everywhere you look there are old lady metal belts, black walmart clogs from 1992, and women who don't know how to wear lipstick turning there nose up at you without even giving you a chance first! This is a prime example of why Longmont is not progressing as wonderfully as it should. Sure, you can find a gem anywhere if you look hard enough and have a good eye. But clearly the women who are in charge of taking consignments don't know what they are doing. I brought in 6 spring season dresses and some really great fresh tops all from the store Anthropologie and because they weren't on hangers and instead in a really cool luggage bag (also high end and I was going to sell) the lady behind the counter didn't have an interest in looking at them!!!! I am a 28 year old chick with a degree in fashion. She missed out. This was my contribution to supporting Longmont local businesses but she blew it. Back to Boulder I go.
