A better-than-average selection of upholstery fabrics with better-than-average prices. Don't expect anything fancy here. This, to me, was almost like visiting a warehouse. Cement flooring and seemingly no organization to the fabric displays, so get that notion out of your head and pay attention to the prices and the products instead. I often look for upholstery-grade fabrics. I don't use them for upholstery, but to make tablecloths, since they are the perfect width for rectangular-shaped tables and many of the fabrics can be washed (despite what the care instructions may read). But it's getting increasingly difficult to find reasonably priced material for my purposes now that so many fabric stores have closed. Fabrics & More had quite a bit to offer, and when you wander over to their clearance area to see fabric for $5.99 a yard, you can find some real bargains. Not a huge selection, but still there are things to be had. Cutters are not the most skilled: there are NO cutting tables here. They measure on a roll of sorts and then hack away with scissors. So be prepared to even out your edges if you're like me and just looking to place a seam in what you've bought. Price was right, and you can bet I will be back. Offerings are so much superior to local fabric stores, but I'm sure they don't hold a candle to anything I'd find in town. Still, a great option in this area. read more

This was listed as SA Interiors, but is not. It is Fabrics and Furniture, located in the same space as SA was. I know nothing about those people only Fabrics and Furniture. They did my kitchen chairs in a 1900s Boiled Flaxseed Linen, with a 1/4" Lip Jute Cording, Muslin underneath the Linen and the bottom of the seat with the same Muslin and they came out absolutely, incredibly fabulous and were competive with another upholsterer, but they were closer logistically, for me. I also had fabric I ordered elsewhere for a windowbox seat and needed the same cording as my kitchen chairs, but was unable to get it any longer from the manufacture so I finally went in last week to find the two former and wonderful upholsterers were no longer there, but another gentlemen was, Cruz was still there, and a new "Boss Lady". She asked what I was quoted before for the windowbox cushion which we found extremely reasonable, prices for two small antique chairs and two wingbacks and a quote of $20 for a small 10" pillow. She said she was called in to "take over" because they were undercharging. Well, after I pick up my windowbox seat tomorrow and the previously quoted $20 pillow, which will now cost $45, she has lost all my further business. I had another windowbox seat I needed done as well. She will soon find out there are others who do just as beautiful work as the previous two did, at a whole lot less cost to the customer. She nearly doubled my quoted price on wingbacks and my windowbox seat was TRIPLE the original quote! I have company coming so I was stuck with that one. After tomorrow, I won't be back, sadly. I have already contacted the other upholsterer to start on my work and he picks up. It's very unfortunate, but we also need to eat too. read more

If there was a NO STAR option, I'd select it! I just left this RACIST establishment an hour ago. In all my 60+ years, I have never encountered such RUDE and CONDESCENDING treatment from an employee. The heavy-set guy in the front who would not even acknowledge my presence AND the guy in the rear who finally came out, BOTH were rude and condescending and did not want to respond to questions I had about fabric prices or measurements. In fact, the heavy-set guy walked off when I was trying to ask a question and waved his hand in the air toward me as if to say Leave ME Alone! The GALL! I asked for the Manager but of course, he never showed his face and I also told the guy that his racist attitude will NOT be tolerated by me and I will absolutely give a poor review of this place. Avoid working with these people. They have terrible customer service skills. Was quoted 4-6 weeks for a couch to be refinished (already a long time). After 3 months I started calling daily only to find out they hadn't started, then the did the wrong couch, then the did the couch in 2 days and the cushions had to be returned. Cushions too another month to rework again. While the time to complete the work is appalling. The worst part is the way management treats customers. Phone calls are actively ignored, customers are kept in the dark about what's going on and unless you stay on top of them to the point of absurdity, nothing happens. The overall quality of work was marginal with the cushions having visible lumps and part of the cording around the couch not even being attached. It's unfortunate as we had used them 5 years ago and they were timely, friendly and prompt. We will not be using them again and I warn anyone of using them even as they are moving to a new location. read more

Run, don't walk away from this establishment, which recently opened a second location in The Woodlands. I ordered plantation shutters (Norman) from them last October, in enough time, supposedly, to arrive for my Nov 28 house closing date. Due to a strike at a ship port (per them), the shutters did not arrive until the end of December. When Fabrics n More came to install them, 2 large shutters were damaged, the garage windows had been mis-measured so the shutters didn't fit, and one door was left completely off the order. Since then there has been nothing but no-show appointments, phone calls not returned, etc. I still do not have a corrected, complete order, 4 months later. Before it became clear to me what a sub-standard retailer I was dealing with I purchased fabric from them that according to my seamstress, appeared to be "seconds". The black velvet for the scarf was bleeding on her hands turning them black; we replaced it with black velvet from Joann's. The print of the main drapery fabric was slanted. Since Fabrics n More doesn't know the meaning of customer service I haven't even bothered to broach the subject of defective fabric with them. As I said, run, don't walk from this establishment. The owner was supposedly going to call me two weeks ago--ha ha. When I call to speak to him he's always "out of the country". Horrible outfit. read more

I ordered (and paid several hundred dollars for) material from the store on June 27, 2015 and was advised it would be available in one week. After MANY phone calls, for over 1 1/2 months, with different stories each time (from the Owner, his wife and another Manager and store clerk) and with MANY requests for a refund, I finally got a check from them on August 14, 2015 (that I personally had to pick up because they couldn't refund back to my credit card?)...and the check bounced. Amazing fabric store! So glad I found this place. I was looking for a high end fabric store (not a JoAnn or Hancock) and after months of searching all over Houston, I stopped at Fabrics & More. They have exquisite and rare fabrics that really make a luxurious statement. I easily spent an hour in the store upon my first visit in admiration of all the variety. The associates are friendly and Raymond, the owner is outstanding. I went on to order custom drapery from Raymond and finally my 2 story windows are complete. This Store is no longer owned by the owners of Fabrics and more. This store is bought by new owners and is called Fabrics ETC. I have nothing but good to say about all their staff. Mary upfront is very nice , friendly and respectful. Kamal, who took my order very professional and did a great job . I got 8 formal dining chairs redone, 10 Danish chairs redone. We were very pleased with the quality of work they did that we gave them more Formal living room sofas , these sofas even needed to be tightened and they did all that was required. 2 wing back chairs and 2 formal French chairs re- done. I couldn't be more pleased with the work they did. I will highly recommend these people. They came and picked up my furniture and delivered wrapped in clear plastic. No matter how good of a selection of fabric here, it's not worth it.Unethical owner, and even called to harrass me with a lie later.I paid store $394 for material the store offered to ship to my seamstress;UPS lost it and would only provide the store with $100 claim check(made out to store) b/c the store employee didn't declare value on the shipping form (store mgr omitted this info for weeks).Almost 3months of no resolution despite my multiple attempts and 4 hours drive time for different store visits with manager,Irene, and owner,Albert who said he'd replace fabric ONLY if UPS provides in writing that UPS will be refunding the full amount of what I already paid store.(Owner)Albert says UPS issued them a claim check, but only for $100.He then tells me that he will "let" me buy material at his cost minus $100 (UPS claim check), still making me out of pocket $237+$27s&h more that I had already paid for materiel I never got 3 months prior.(Mgr) About two months of continual prodding them and UPS, I make another appearance at their store in hopes of getting better attention.Irene(Mgr)then admits to Albert(in front of me)that their store employee failed to declare value amount on the UPS form(this was the first I had heard of that).Then owner blames UPS,saying that the UPS clerk should've caught that and made sure that his employee filled that out.Then Albert told me that it's not the store's fault that UPS lost my material,but I quickly responded that it IS their fault that UPS won't cover the full amount since his employee didn't fill out the shipment form adequately;UPS policy is to only cover $100 in that case(store employee's fault for failing to complete the shipping label correctly).His only response was that his store only ships as a courtesy to the customers (as if that makes them not liable).Irene actually told me that"Personally, she wouldn't have had a store ship her material-she would've done it herself." Wow.Then why offer it?I went home, empty handed again and at a $394 loss.At advice of MANY, I reported to credit card co who said this store is absolutely liable for 100%,and that the store should've refunded or replaced the day they knew it was lost.My CC company gave me a provisional credit to cover the cost at 100%; CC co. to garnish that full amount from store, and told me it's definitely the right way to handle. A few weeks later, Albert calls me at home, saying he got this letter from my credit card company and asking if I "was aware that my credit card company took that credit back off from me and returned it to him because it isn't his fault" (I found out later that was a lie). Then he begins to argue with me, and I tell him that I agree it isn't the store's fault that UPS lost the fabric, but it IS their fault that UPS didn't refund the whole amount of money b/c their store employee didn't declare the value when they shipped it. He then had the nerve to say to me that I should've told his employee to write down the declared value (I refuse to tell an employee how to do her job). No matter what exchanges the owner and I have had over the past 3-4 months, he continued to point fingers at everyone else.After that infuriating call, I immediately called my CC Company; they assured me that what Albert told me was not true, and that the money is still very much in my account and isn't going back to him unless he could prove I got my material,and nothing else matters. I can't believe he'd rather risk his reputation over $400 (well, actually only $300 b/c UPS did give hime a $100 claim check). Albert is arrogant and never showed any understanding at any of the 4 appearances I made to his store,and I was there for HOURS each trip (much more I could complain about)! I've heard of other sketchy things about this place from others too. I will continue to spread the word to anyone I can b/c he either needs to exercise ethics or not be in business. The only reason I gave a single star is because of the great selection. The owner, Albert, is a complete jack---! My mom bought $400 of fabric from the store on 1960 & Kuykendahl. The store offered to ship it for her (she was sending it to a family member out of state), so she let them. Well, UPS lost the shipment. My mom contacted UPS to get reimbursed, but UPS said she would only get $100 back. The fabric store made a mistake when they shipped it- they either wrote the value as only $100 or just didn't claim value at all. So of course, my mom went to the manager (Irene) and also talked to Albert. The store refuses to pay her back and will not take ANY responsibility. She hasn't even gotten an apology! My mom is a very sweet, soft-spoken woman who hates confrontation, but she's been pushing this for months to get her $400 back. I'm pretty sure they'll be seeing her in court! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I had two chairs reupholstered. I made it very clear I wanted the original material from the chairs back. I had special order material and brought the bolt into the store with me. Made it clear I wanted the remaining material back. Have I seen it yet? Material was over $30.00 a yard. When asked about it, got rudeness, and very little help. Made it my problem when it was there problem. Go to Burke's on Kuykendahl. This has been a nightmare for the last 4 months working with Sharmla and "Raman". This is a very dishonest business that can't complete a job. They try to pull fast ones on customers and always have excuses. They rescheduled several appointments and never arrived on time. They cut corners at the customers expense and try to cover it up. I bought fabric and was told it will be in 10 days and lie after lie. Once they have your money you will never be able to talk to anyone. Luckily my brother is an attorney and he advised me on emailing them to have everything in writing. Until I told them that i was going to contact the BBB and take this to court and send them all the other bad reviews they had until then, they offered me my refund. I'm writing this without my name attached so it doesn't effect my future career prospects. I worked here for about two years. The owners are the worst people I have ever met. They didn't pay rent on their woodlands location and the locks were changed by the landlord. It was at that point told to take a few weeks off for vacation (unpaid naturally). Mind you this is about a week after the glorious owners got back from their fabulous European vacation. I then picked up a paycheck which was held by the bank for four days because all the paychecks were bouncing. I loved my job with customers and the store so when they called me back to work, I returned only to be belittled in front of new employees (lol yes they hired more people, I don't get that either) when I was introduced by Albert Reddy (the owner) it was as "someone who talks too much but knows nothing" (oh the condescending arrogance). I was also referred to as stupid by his wife who got mad that I forgot to do something she asked me to do (I apologized, we were understaffed and I got very busy, but hey she's the boss and whatever) this was in fact the last straw as they were over due with a paycheck at the time and I drove an hour to work to be talked to in that way. I still have not received my pay from August, it's now October. I'm in touch with the authorities but I thought I should put out there that if you shop here you are supporting the worst kind of people. Plus you may or may not get your paid for materials or upholstery done, honestly it depends on if the owners personally care about you. I have seen them push their own customers projects before everyone else to the point of it being 4 months past due and people screaming at me (the owners never talked to the customers they pissed off themselves) They will take your money for special ordered fabric and then it's really a toss up as to wether they will order it or not. There are about 4 major suppliers who won't even deal with them anymore. I have never blasted a company like this before and regret that they are so unprofessional and unscrupulous that I felt this was the only way to nudge some karma their direction (not that they would learn anything from it) read more

I can't say enough good things about SA Interiors. I moved in a new home & had SA Interiors customize my drapes & valances for my entire home & WOW!!! I am more than pleased with the way they turned out & their prices can't be beat anywhere else. Everything about this place from the material, selection, quality & customer service is superb. The whole process was so rewarding. Sharmla (the owner) is so attentive, professional & knowledgeable. I loved working with her. On the day of the install, she was in contact with me several times to make sure that everything was going well & that I was satisfied with the end result. Her husband Albert was here at the time of the install & he is such an awesome guy!! He is a real hoot. And then there is Philip, who is the one who installed the drapes & valances. A vast selection of fabrics to choose from and a helpful staff make this store the place to bring your old, tired furniture for renewing. They have recovered and repaired several pieces for me: 4 seat cushions on a set of very 70s dining chairs (I painted the chairs red and found a fun fabric for the seats - they look magazine worthy now), a sweet old chair from the 60s now covered in a bright paisley fabric, and another bigger chair and ottoman from the same era that is now happily updated to the 21st century. The hardest part is selecting the fabric - so many gorgeous patterns and styles and weights and textures. The man who did our latest upholstering was absolutely an artist - George took such care with the matching of the pattern. He is very skilled and has an excellent eye for detail. I'm so pleased with the results. The previous work was just as carefully matched. It was several years ago and it's nice to see that the quality of work is still exceptional. So my wife and I went in to this establishment today looking for fabric to recover a set of dining room chairs. We brought the chairs into the store so we could lay fabrics over the chairs to see what would be a good match, this was actually an idea of the sales associate that was very nice and helpful mind you. We looked at fabrics for about 30 min and brought a few bolts up and laid them on the chairs, the sales associate was being very helpful and accommodating. Then I pulled a bolt off of the rack and walked it up to the chair and was met by the owner who I hadn't seen until then or even spoken to and he said to me, "You can't be doing this all day long, pulling these fabrics down in the middle of my store, you need to pick a fabric and be done!". I could hardly believe this guy! It got me fueled up for sure. We had only been there for 30 min and this dude just then showed his face to tell me he was pissed that we were pulling fabrics. It's a freaking fabric/design store what he heck! Also, I'm sure I wasn't holding the record for longest time in the fabric and more, didn't know there was a time limit on making a purchase, my bad! I told him that we would take our business elsewhere and that he was very rude. I still can't believe what an ass he was. So all in all, the store had a great selection and a nice sales associate and a terrible manager, I would never tell a customer what he told me, EVER. read more
