Took my daughter's homecoming dress here to have an inch taken up. While there, we discovered that…read moreit no longer fit and was just shy of zipping. It was agreed that they would use the fabric from the bottom to add room at the zipper. Was told to come back on the 20th (almost two weeks from drop off). Dance was 27th. Came on the 22nd to try on. Back was great, but hem was a mess- uneven, slip hanging out under mesh overlay, strings that attach the beads loose. She said she'd fix it, come back Wed. On Wed, she basically shoved the dress at me and I paid and left- at this point I knew it must still be a mess because I wasn't even shown the finished product. But at that point I just needed to figure out what needed to be fixed. As I walked to the car, sequins were falling off in the parking lot. I ended up having to completely undo her hem, remove the stones at the bottom and secure the thread attaching the stones so no more fell off, rehem and hand-sew the stones and sequins to match the rest of the dress. I had to skimp because I didn't have many extras to work with. Dress ended up turning out fine despite about 4 hours of my time fixing the dress. Monday I went back to get the garment bag she did not return. While waiting, I saw she had a pile of stones that she did not give me!! I needed those for the fix!! She could not find my bag. All in all, the price she quoted was reasonable for the zipper alterations but felt low for both zipper and hem so I guess you get what you pay for... but the work was not at all what she told me I would get, and def not worth the stress it caused. Will never return or recommend to others.

They insist on making appointments, which is a HUGE pain if you run around doing errands like I do. Also I don't see how an appointment keeps someone with Covid from coming in (if you're afraid of that). Also they have a tendency to run behind so be ready for that. After they altered the bosom area, there was a two inch gap between the zipper sides. Once zipped, the top created back cleavage at her spine and compressed my daughter's chest and rib cage, making it difficult for her to breathe. The seamstress tried to convince me this was normal, which made no sense. There were two sections of cut material from the bodice in the garment bag. It was obvious too much fabric had been cut away, which explained how this dress had suddenly become a size smaller. It would have been better customer relations if someone admitted what had happened. They made the dress wearable again with other alterations.

My dress arrived in the mail just over two months before the wedding ... which led to a bit of a kerfuffle. The tailor that was originally recommended by my bridal shop does not accept new orders less than three months before a wedding date. I was panicking as I researched where else I could bring my gown ... and I found Alterations by Toni on Yelp. They got back to me right away - and got me in for my first fitting the following week! Everyone that I interacted with was friendly, professional, and extremely detail-oriented. I returned to the shop five times throughout the fitting process. Even though it was a lot of running around in the months leading up to my wedding - I appreciate the work these ladies put in to make sure my dress fit perfectly. I also brought in some extra lace, and had them fashion detached sleeves that I could wear during the ceremony. They went above and beyond to assist with this extra request - and I could not be more grateful. By the end of the alterations - it did end up costing me just over $500. That's a bit pricey, given all of the other wedding expenses that add up, but I do believe you can't put a price on how incredible you're going to feel in your wedding dress when it fits perfectly.
