The service is fantastic and the selections of fabric and materials is unbelievably amazing! They have NFL sports, cartoon, superhero and upholstery selections out the wazoo! And the prices are cheaper than Walmart so check this place out!

My friend is a huge quilter and she loved it!

This place is amazing!!!! It's about as big as a gymnasium and filled with aloha fabric!!

Sewing supplies in Aiea, Oahu, Hawaii... There are three Fabric Mart stores on Oahu (Kaneohe, Honolulu, and Aiea) and this one at Harbor Center is the largest! This location is like a warehouse with three big rooms. I was searching all over the first room when I finally gave up and asked for help. I was led into the second room where staff climbed up a ladder and retrieved a bolt of felt for me! Note: There's no air conditioning, so, be prepared. Fabric Mart has all kinds of material - from silk and organza to muslin and polyester blends. They have a wide variety of prints: sports teams, novelty, Hawaiian, Asian, seasonal, etc. If you need zippers, thread, pins, scissors, needles, elastic, patterns, buttons, or anything else, I'm sure they have it! The free shared parking is just an added plus to Fabric Mart in Aiea. It's like a craft oasis!

10-27-2020 searching for Hawaiian Christmas prints? You might want to view the few bolts they have here. BUT if you need more classic Xmasy fabric it's not available here. I asked one of the workers, where's your Christmas material? She said, We didn't order this year. We have little bit WAY in back, 2 nd row and she walked away. I looked aimlessly and 2 employees must have seen me looking dumbfoundedly lost, which second row??? In need of help like a kitten out on a limb, I was never asked, Can I help you? Finally I found one Piglet panel Xmas bolt but it was not what I was looking for. Walking back to the front of the shop and seeing a different worker leaving the fabric checkout station I headed toward her...Excuse me, do you remember seeing any penguin material ? We have, she replied. You do?! I excitedly exclaimed in hopeful anticipation. Then she says, we sold out. Awww- shuckins...my joy deflated like a punctured tire... One star for must wear mask to enter. Second star for hand sanitizer by register. Third star for contactless temperature scanner BUT it's not located close enough to the entrance/exit door. Someone could easily enter bypassing the machine. If you are close enough it will say LOUD and clear: NORMAL... how shame if it wasn't!!! Glad the long lines to purchase fabric and elastic for masks was not there when I went. You really need to have lots of time on your hands or must know where things are located if you choose to shop here.

Glad I started my visits before things got crazy! People waiting in line for insane periods of time... That's just bonkers! Now the website allows for scheduled appointments. That's much better than the herds waiting outside. 20 minute visits, so know what you need ahead of time. The selection was great. Now it's definitely harder to find more specific colors or prints you're looking for. The oriental fabrics are definitely my fave to browse. I'm not a very creative crafter, so I stick to basics. I've purchased a couple of different thread colors and types. All have worked out well for what I've been up to with my crafts. The price is good too. The workers are stressed, I'm sure. But they're doing a great job taking care of everyone. People just need to be more understanding during this pandemic. I haven't had any problems. Hopefully as the weeks progress, the stock will be replenished and we'll all be able to get the items we need quickly and easily. I'm definitely going to continue visiting this location. It's the closest to home and the layout is easy to navigate. Lots of parking nearby too.

Love pink! Especially the Sakura prints. Til we meet again Cherry blossoms

Stood in line for about 1hr 30mins today. Not too bad considering the long line I seen on social media the other day. The long queue seemed to move along every 5-20mins with a maximum of 20 shoppers indoors. They have a ton of cute prints but honestly if felt like there wasn't much in my interest left. I was specifically looking for certain character prints, Cookie Monster, Minecraft, and baby shark but was out of luck. Although I did end up leaving with some adorable fabric. Minus one star for the customer service. My only interaction was with the lady cutting my fabric and the cashier. The cashier was just not having it today. No patience and lots of attitude after asking a simple question as if we had known what items and specific sizes were left. Someone needs a Snickers. LOL

I did some thrifting and found a cute denim jacket but didn't like the gold buttons so decided to buy new ones and have my alteration lady replace them! Found a good priced set of buttons: 3 for $1 with the help of a Fabric Mart staff Carole. Can't wait for the final product! Mahalo!

Ask the Community - Fabric Mart

Does fabric mart sells jelly roll fabrics and squares for making patchwork?

No jelly roll but we have some squares. The squares are 4 to 7 inches.

    Do you sell sewing patterns?

Yes, we do. We have Simplicity, McCalls and Butterick patterns.

    Do they do returns?

I'm sorry, all sales are final. We don't accept returns.

Do you have quilted Hawaiian print fabric? Also would you have it in quilted squares (to make quilted comforters?)

We have quilted hawaiian print fabric but not in squares. If you make quilted comforters better use regular fabric and do quilt when you done patch all the pieces.

Do they have fabric that isn't just Hawaiian?

Sure do. Lots of Japanese prints and quilting cottons. Also every other material you could think of. Looking for something in particular?

Are lines still long at Aiea store?

I was there yesterday afternoon and it was fairly busy. No line to get in, about 10 ppl waiting to have fabric cut.

I don't have this back home" and in goes the item in my cart. What brought me in today tho, was to support one of the local small businesses that rents a "locker" inside the store. I absolutely love this concept. Ben Franklin has created a space where local makers can showcase and sell their work, giving shoppers the chance to support dozens of independent businesses all under one roof. Honestly, if money were no object, I'd probably leave with something from every locker. The variety is incredible, and it's fun seeing all the creativity from local artisans. Whether you're a serious crafter, looking for a unique gift, or just enjoy browsing, this place is sooo dangerous... in the best way possible. It's basically a crafter's candy store, and I look forward to getting lost here every time.

A wide selection of colors, however, a few of the popular colors and flowers were out of stock. The beads are light weight, flexible, and the stems may be easily cut shorter. I was happily surprised that it did not feel rough or abrasive against material or the human skin. Great for simple DIY craft projects. My first project was to create a forever lei bag charm. The flower beads are reasonably priced and affordable for crafting projects. Service was okay lol. The cashier could have shown a little more interest. No smile or thank you for coming today. Maybe it was an off day for her. Other employees were nice and helpful in finding the beads. Overall a 4.5 star experience. Rounded up to 5 stars.

Born and raised in Honolulu and now living in the bay, I want to create diaper cakes using Hawaiian print materials to give them an aloha vibe. I created a list of fabric stores to visit, but ended up just checking this place out since it was in Kalihi, not far from where my mom lives, and I didn't feel like being in the crazy Oahu traffic to get to the other shops. Located in a warehouse off N. King Street in Kalihi, it wasn't very hard to find, and parking can be limited in front of the warehouse or street parking. When my mom and I walked in, we were amazed at the vast amount of material this place carries. A lot of Hawaiian print, Palaka, Japanese, Tahitian, and those cute Kawaii patterns (see my pics) to name a few. We received great customer service considering how busy they were. Daniel was pleasant and very helpful. Prices were reasonable, the prints I got were from $5/yd. They mainly carry rolls of material, some ribbon, and a few sewing accessories at the checkout counter. Daniel recommended I check out their Instagram for any new print drops, and they ship! Off 1 star for organization. There are some beautiful prints hiding under several rolls of fabric.

I've been a Vintage Mu'u collector for 10-15+ years and I was super excited to see their selection of Vintage Mu'u! I took a Lyft to get to South Street from Ala Moana and I was dropped off across the street so I was a bit disoriented at first lol. I had to make sure I was walking in the right direction since there wasn't a big flashy sign. I love the humble lit up sign that said "Alterations" in the window and once I saw a mannequin in window dressed with beautiful Vintage Mu'u, I knew I hit the vintage jackpot lol! It was an adorable store with vintage Knick knacks, accessories, jewelry in glass cases, an alteration station with fabric as you walk through the door, then another section filled with racks of Vintage Mu'u of every size, along with Tops, Palaka Shorts and I also noticed some Outerwear too. I was so excited that I hit the ground running and checked out every rack with my size and collected a good 8-10 or so Mu'u to try on. (I mean I am from Maui so I can't frequent this place much lol!) There were 2 humble dressing rooms with a small basket in the corner for your shoes and belongings. I loved the selection and most of all: the prices. They had vintage 80's-90's to maybe 60's-70's. I did see some rare vintage priced at $150-200+ but for the most part, reasonably priced for carefully curated vintage. I found 3 Mu'u at the end of my Vintage Haul. I scored a Black and Red Manuheali'i Dress (which aunty said everyone adored when it came in so that was definitely a score!) for $110 and 2 other Mu'u's, one was a Made in Hawaii with front bib detail in a cream color for maybe $40 and another Blue Andrade Mu'u for $45. This was definitely worth coming down from Maui. I will definitely be back on my next Oahu trip! The Aunty Owner and her daughter were the sweetest!
