The fabric selection isn't huge, but its quality and there's a variety that you won't find in big box stores. This is the place you go when you want to make something beautiful. Sew Nice has a good selection of standard notions as well as a good selection of vintage notions. I found some fabulous bright orange lace seam tape in the discount bin for less than 80¢ a package. The woman who works there seems a little gruff at first, but I assure she is the best part of the entire store. She is incredibly knowledgeable and I've never felt like I've annoyed her by asking too many questions, like I sometimes do when I'm at chain stores. I also haven't been met with a blank look when I ask about less common things, like horsehair braid or an unfamilar technique on a vintage pattern. On my last trip in, she remembered me enough to ask if I was able to finish my dress. The only word of warning I can give you is if you go in, expect to spend a good amount of time in there because there is so much to look at. I am not sure if she accepts credit cards, as I've always paid cash.

This was my first time coming to this store in several years. I was very impressed with the…read moreservice- I knew I needed fabric for a slipcover but I was unsure of what I wanted so I just went in to browse the in-stock rolls of fabric. Oftentimes I am overwhelmed by all of the special order sample books, so I didn't bother going to that area of the store. I was greeted as soon as I came in, and offered assistance, which I declined. She gave me my space, but then checked in with me a few minutes later, and, by asking a few questions, started to get a sense of what I was looking for and showed me the areas in the books that would have what I was looking for. She helped me start to narrow down my choices, but not a bit pushy. She didn't bat an eye when I checked out about 10 samples. I ended up ordering 5 yards the following week, and four days later I got a call that my fabric was in. Start to finish, very pleasant environment, and I'll definitely be recommending them and returning for my own shopping.

It reminds me of a shop that the women of the Gilded Age or Ryan Murphy's Feud would peruse on a leisurely stroll, dressed in their designer finest and browsing for new decor for their summer cottages. Lou Lou's has everything that a fine home could want for furnishings - whimsical needlepoint pillows, gorgeous dishware (I loved the black and white checkered collection), and even trendy mahjongg sets. The items here make excellent hostess gifts, and everything seems to be hand selected and highly curated. Amy, the young woman working when I visited, was delightful as well. I can see she has a bright future in interior design and was welcoming and calm, adding to the lovely experience of stumbling upon this truly special Bellevue boutique.
