Since my dad wasn't allowed near the fitting rooms (which I understand) I expected staff assistance but I had to ask for help multiple times because I was alone. I was told to "hang on" and was never returned to. When I asked my dad for help he was quickly told to leave the area. He also wasn't welcomed in the main waiting area, so I couldn't show him my dress on the stage like other girls were able to do. I had to show him separately. I believe the store could be more welcoming and supportive of father-daughter pairs. We just wanted to share the same special experience as everyone else. I really didn't need anything per se, but I had an upcoming Yelp Elite event at Tommy Bahama's and wanted to see if there was anything. Marie, the store manager, was so nice and helpful. She helped me select dresses and heels based on my color preference. All of the staff that Monday night were sweet. They made it easy and fun. I ended up with 2 dresses and a pair of heels for the Spring/Summer. I love that 10% of my purchase went to a local charity, which changes every Monday. I spotted two pairs of shoes, jeans, dresses, etc. I liked everything. Honestly, I didnt think Madewell was for me, and I thought they were pretty pricey. How wrong was I? Shame on me! I was told that she had found that larger size women did not want to pay the higher prices which I found incredibly rude and elitist. I pointed out to this woman that just the Shaw I had on cost $180 in San Antonio and that larger women I knew had money to burn.
