I tried this fast‑food place for the first time, and although the pictures on the door and walls looked nice, the actual food was the complete opposite. I ordered kebab kobideh, which is supposed to be freshly cooked ground beef. When the server placed the dish on the table, the smell of the meat was terrible. Just looking at it, I could tell it was old and had clearly been reheated in a microwave. I didn't touch the food at all -- I simply left. The plate was indeed perfect for splitting because it was huge. It came with four tender pieces of chicken, some grilled vegetables and four pieces of pita bread. Overall the chicken kebobs were enjoyable. The chicken was smoky and savory and seasoned with a blend of aromatic herbs and spices. It paired well with the fries. I enjoyed my first visit to Fabi's Grill and already planning my next visit back. Aside from the food, service was great! The cashier/server was friendly and kind. This local eatery totally flew under my radar, but I'm glad I stopped by to try them out. They're located in a small strip next to Panda Express, and a closed Starbucks. They have a 100% halal menu, so I was excited by the wide variety they offer. They have daily specials, with the Friday special being a Philly cheesesteak with fries for a very affordable price. The fries were fresh and lightly seasoned, and the cheesesteak was pretty good, juicy sirloin steak and veggies with a good helping of cheese. My only complaint was there was a little too much bread. Went here after Jummah with some friends and it seems to be run from the same owner as Fanoos so that's a good sign and they have daily specials with a full halal menu!!! Service was great and fast. What a great vibe. Very welcoming and kind. Located in the small strip mall anchored by Starbucks and Panda Express. Shared parking for all. Lots offered on the menu and they are open for breakfast. I decided on the beef gyros wrap which came with French fries. Several two-tops along the wall and table in front and outdoor dining as well. While I waited, I was given a bottle of ice water. So nice. The take out order also includes a piece of hard candy too. What a nice touch. The beef gyros and fries were delicious and on my way out, two ladies were waiting for their order and they raved about Fabi's Grill. We were pleased to stumble on this small Mediterranean restaurant in a strip center near Best Buy. Their Thursday special was delicious and a great value. The beef Koobideh kabob was well seasoned. It was served with an ample portion of basmati rice with saffron, green salad and grilled vegetables. They also had a white meat chicken Koobideh kabob Thursday special for only $1 more. The service was excellent. Our food was served to us. There were clean dining tables both inside and outside. There was ample parking. There is a tremendous variety of items to choose from. When I look at my choices from recent trips, I see wings, jambalaya, fries, burrito, gyro, cheeseburger, lenguine, cheese steak, sausage sandwich, and kebob. I've found that I liked just about everything on the menu. There haven't been any particular items that stood out from the others; they were all good. That being said, I'm probably more likely to order one of their sandwiches, perhaps a cheese steak or a cheeseburger. If you come here regularly, be sure to check the daily special menu, which has special items available on Monday thru Thursday. My family ordered takeout from Fabi's recently. It was our first time trying this restaurant, so we ordered a few different things to sample. The beef gyro and pastrami sandwiches were pretty underwhelming, with each containing just a few scraps of low quality meat. The gyro meat appeared to be of the pre-formed variety, not freshly carved from a spit as one would hope. The pastrami was overly fatty, stringy and dry. We thought it was generous that each sandwich included French fries, that is until we tasted them and found them to be dry, chalky and unpleasant to eat. It seemed like they were overcooked, but bad in other ways too. Worst of all, the hummus and baba ganoush were completely inedible, with each lacking any discernible flavor apart from an overwhelming bitterness reminiscent of burnt garlic. In addition, the texture of the hummus was oddly gummy. It is difficult to reconcile our very disappointing experience with the many positive reviews here on Yelp. Was our order somehow transported to us across dimensions from a corrupted version of Fabi's Grill inhabiting the Upside Down? I do not know for certain, but i guess stranger things have happened. read more

Been looking to try this place for a while and not a great first go. Got the loaded potato (baked potato) with chicken. Honestly it was kind of funky. I thought it was going to be smaller roasted potatoes but it's a whole potato. Tasted like they mixed their Mediterranean chicken with red pasta sauce cheese. It was pretty funky tasting and the potato was cooked like it had been cooked all day. It had a funky aftertaste so much that I stopped for a smoothie elsewhere to wash it away. The woman taking our order was friendly and explained what came on the falafel wrap to my husband. The serving size is good, especially for the price, you guys. From the first bite fell in love. A bit too much even, to the point where my genitals were even slightly aroused. I love Fabi's Grill! It's a hidden gem I'd only found out about a couple weeks ago, grabbing lunch with my dad. It turns out it's run by the same owner who created Fanoos which I've been to several times over the years. Parking is simple and plentiful, located in a mega plaza with the likes of juggernauts such as Best Buy. You can view specials of the day on a standing chalkboard outside, and as you enter conveniently placed on the counter inside. If you're feeling Mediterranean food, they have it here. If you're feeling American food, there's endless options to choose from, and as an added bonus, it's all halal. Staff is incredibly friendly, starting with the owner who takes his time getting to know his customers, extending to other staff like the kind lady who's often seen behind the register politely taking everyone's orders and being generally warm, courteous, and kind. I've tried 5-6 different entrees, sticking to the halal American entrees as they're a bit tougher to find in the area. I went with the Philly cheesesteak a couple separate times, beef bacon cheeseburger, chilaquiles, chicken caesar wrap, fried chicken sandwich, and pastrami fries. All were absolutely delicious, highly affordable, savory, cooked to perfection, and delicious. Some of the entrees came with fries, which are naturally meant to be eaten fresh; crisp, great texture, and easily devoured. The highlights for me have been the Philly cheesesteak, beef bacon cheeseburger, and the pastrami fries. The latter two were dripping with juices and top tier comfort food. Well, the doctor tells me that Mediterranean food should be part of my diet if I want to lower blood pressure and reduce diabetes, so here I am. The lamb kabob and the rice were in my comfort zone and I loved them. The Baba Ghanoush was not and remained largely uneaten. Oh, well; I knew this would be an experiment, and I think a 67% batting average is pretty good for my first time out. I will return and sample more of their menu. Warning: the meat is NOT boneless, so don't apply too much pressure when you first bite into it; you must be cautious until you know where the bones are. Also, the plastic silverware is not strong enough to cut through the meat. Either Fabi's should start offering silverware, or customers will start bringing their own if they are dining in (which means they'll be cleaning it in the bathroom, which is going to be messy from leftover food effluvia). Anyway, Fabi's is worth several tries before deciding to add it (or withhold it) from your regular rotation of restaurants. Extra points just for being different (not being standard American burgers, etc.,). read more

We were excited to try this place as it is a sister restaurant to our favorite Fanoos restaurant on Crenshaw. Food overall: generally pretty good taste and well presented for fast food standards. The portions were enough and fair for the price , but I would not consider it generous. Linguine Palermo (Seafood pasta) was very well made with good quality seafood with Al dente pasta and delicious sauce. Steak and shrimp kebabs was both delicious, it was served with two sides and some grilled vegetables. Tip: for the sides, Tabouli was not bad but less overwhelming, I'd suggest to see if you can get a small taste before committing to it. Convenient take-out, indoor seating with one table for 4 and many high tables for 2, a few tables for four people outdoors. We sat outside and it was comfortable. Service: very friendly and helpful ! Location & parking : great location at the corner of PCH and Hawthorne, in between Starbucks and Panda Express. Plenty of parking when we visited Saturday evening. Overall, I'd still prefer the original Fanoos for sit down finer dining with sumptuous and well prepared dinner. This is a reasonable option for quick lunch. I've been complaining for WEEKS if not months that the only halal food in the area was the same type of cuisine and all I wanted today after a long day was a good burger. I'm so glad I must've changed something in my search and found this place. I ordered for delivery (I live not too far I was just tired ok lolol) and I will be relaxing on a full satisfied stomach this evening. The burger was just what I was looking for! Tonight was my second time trying Fabi's, and just like the first time, the food is so fresh and flavorful! Jose and Esteven were working. and they remembered when I visited the first time about a month ago. Jose helped me choose great items and Esteven was fast! Both are friendly and so professional. I love the enterior of the place too. There are checkered tablecloths and cute little bistro chairs. It is the perfect place for lunch, a weeknight dinner, or takeout. I'm a vegetarian, so both times I've enjoyed their grilled veggie kabob and hummus. The hummus is as fresh as what I make at home. And they serve the tastiest grilled veggies around! There are grill marks all over the split jalapeno, tomatoes, peppers, and onions. My husband loves the pasta arrabia. He says it is just spicy enough, and the sauce satisfies his pasta cravings. Their fries are soooooo good too--crunchy on the outside, soft and tender inside with a delicious, savory seasoning. I've told all of my friends about Fabi's, I like it so much. The good: I've been waiting to try this place since they opened! We got fish fajitas ($11 on Mondays) and the gyro plate. You get to choose 2 sides for the gyro plate so we got grilled veggies and fries. They have specials each day. They have outdoor covered seating. Inside, there are small tables and high bar-height tables and chairs. It's a casual establishment that was very clean and orderly inside. The food was freshly grilled. Everything was so colorful and fresh. The beef gyro meat was shiny and soft. I loved that it wasn't overly salty. The tomatoes were juicy. The fajita came with small street-style Mexican corn tortilla which was appreciated and unusual for fajitas around here. I loved the red corn rice that came with the dish. I got a bottled aloe Vera drink that was nice and not too sweet (80 calories). I liked how their menu had photos of many dishes. They also sold baklava for dessert The bad: There were no baby high chairs and no diaper changing table. Despite it not being baby friendly my baby enjoyed the food. They don't give cups of water. You have to buy bottled water only. The interesting: It's a Mediterranean spot with a Mexican flare and Mexican music.
