I had a disappointing experience at Fa-Sa Thai today. If I can give ZERO stars I would. I placed a to-go order, and they only accept cash or Zelle. My total came to $41.33, and I paid with $100.35 in cash. I was given $59.00 back in change, so I politely mentioned that I was still owed $0.02. I even said, "It's okay, you can keep it." What bothered me wasn't the two cents--it was the owner's response. He told me that "the government said we're not allowed to use pennies anymore." That simply isn't true. Pennies are still legal U.S. currency, and I had just received pennies as change at a grocery store earlier that day. If a business chooses not to keep pennies on hand or has a rounding policy, that's one thing, but telling customers the government no longer allows the use of pennies is misleading. This was never about two cents. It was about honesty and customer service. As a business owner, if you owe a customer change, you should either provide it or explain your store's policy truthfully--not make a statement that isn't accurate.
