You get what you pay for. The haircut is not exactly fast as this place seems to be fairly popular. I had to wait about 30 minutes to actually get my 10 minute haircut. I dont like the idea of being told to tip when I already tip. The entire haircut all I could do was stare at the screen in front of me that said something like "tip your hairdresser to get a better haircut". I also don't like that the same screen said they now had two hair dressers Mon-Friday until 7pm. I went in at 5:30 and there was one lady cutting hair and about 10 people waiting by the time I left. Mediocre or miss. Go here if you're trying to: -get a haircut under $10 -the cut is really simple, and -you know the ideal clipper/trimmer numbers. TL;DR--A haircut by Diana is mediocre, while a haircut by someone else is probably going to suck. Mediocre: I've been here three times. The first two times it was Diana and it was fine. Quick payment, quick haircut that met my request (more or less), followed by a modest tip. Crappy (aka, "The Rant"): The third time I visited, the place was busy and there was Diana and this other guy. This dude looked like he was called in 10 minutes before to cover for someone who didn't show up - he looked angry, barely said anything, and seemed like he was in a hurry. I decided to take a chance anyway and told him how I wanted my hair cut. 5 minutes later he said he was done. WTF? Yes, it's "quick cut", but no, you can't be done that quickly. I pointed that it was uneven one one side and that I wanted it more blended/faded. He said nothing, just started cutting. Again, within a few minutes, he was apparently done. It seemed better than before and I thought I could even out the little things at home, on my own. Reached home, realized the haircut was still pretty uneven - it looked like I let a 4th grader cut my hair for fun. Anyway, I went back, insisted that Diana fix my hair. She obliged, but only after implying that it was my fault: "You should tell us clipper number, not how many inches you want off." First of all, Idk which clipper # I need - I don't think this should be required knowledge as a customer. Secondly, if I was told to specify clipper number before my hair was cut, that would be fine. Or if my request to take X inches off didn't work the first two times with Diana, then yes, I should have to specify clipper #. In conclusion, expect a mediocre experience, at best. read more

Great place if you're looking for a simple, fast and cheap ($8+tip) haircut. I came in and the stylist was very nice, polite and done with my haircut within 10-15 minutes. No wash, shampoo or anything else. Just straight haircut. To be honest, it's not the best haircut I've ever had as the front was cut a little awkwardly but it's fine for everyday. It's nothing some hair product can't fix. Would I go here to get a haircut for say....my wedding or some place I had to look absolutely on-point? If you want a shitty, spherical haircut, go here. The kiosk is too close to the door. It's difficult when more than 1 person is ordering a ticket. Asked for a crew cut. This is only my second time getting one. They don't speak necessarily in terms of the haircut styles, but rather in numbers on the cutter. For crew cuts, they don't taper all the way down to 0 in the back. I guess you gotta ask for that. They're fast and cheap. I guess that's a plus. I gave a large tip because I'm used to paying 13 bucks anyway. The hair cutting isn't bad. It's consistent and even. It's not like an amateur did it and they didn't mess up any cuts. Got my haircut here about two days ago. Like the previous reviews said, once you enter the shop it's a strange environment. The whole machine and ticket thing is interesting. I brought a ten dollar bill rather than a twenty like everyone suggested. There was no one else there and this was around 2pm on Thursday. The stylist came out upon hearing me open the door. The door has bells attached on top on the inside. Pretty loud bells given that it was empty. I don't know the numbers for my cuts but I told her I liked my sides short and the top to be shortened by half. I think I was in the chair for 8 minutes and she was done. Clean, efficient and no awkward chit chat. I gave her 3 dollars in tip. Fastest cut in my life and I am extremely pleased with my cut. I have also posted a picture with my cut, sorry I didn't put a before picture. This place only does cuts and no frills. So no shampoo, no gel, just cuts. Store is clean and very very simple in terms of decor. Will come here again. read more

They work quietly and quickly, which I like. If you are looking to build a relationship with your "stylist" it's not the place for you. Don't be turned off by the barebones nature of the place - it's the reason they can offer such a great deal! P.S. - they have free wireless too. It seems odd to browse the web while getting a haircut but perhaps it would be useful if waiting (I've never had to wait). read more

Well trained and quick!! I've gotten $10-$25 haircuts all over the bay area, and none were as well done as here. This was the first place that actually CARED about the details. (Shaped the neck line to avoid exposing a tan line, asked if I like a square cut to minimize a receding hairline, tested the hair both flat and spiked to make sure it looked good both ways, and was meticulous about finding any stray hairs.) So, this quirky place is great! For 12$ total and in less 30 min with a wait, I got a decent enough haircut (I'm a guy, nothing too crazy here...) First off, you feel like you are in a casino or a Japanese restaurant (yes, they are similar in Japan...) the moment you walk in. A ticket vending machine greets you and prompts you to buy an 8$ haircut ticket. I would advise against using 20$ bills, as you will be on your hands and knees clutching at 1$'s like a cheap stripper in a "rainstorm" (or so I hear about these things...). There is some cryptic info on the screen about wait times and whatnot, but your best bet is to just take a glance around the small place. Haircuts probably take 10 minutes a person, so times that by people on the bench, and you have your wait... After that, have a set on the modern barber chair, and enjoy an almost conversation free haircut. If you have a pic of what you want, they can get pretty close (again, guy with a low maintenance cut here...). Step off the chair, leave a tip while she whisks your fallen locks into the handy dandy floor vac, and you're done! I agree with everyone that this is a cheap no frills place. They do an OK job and certainly reasonable for $8. However, I am giving them 2 stars because the owner (Diem) is so unfriendly (downright rude) and has no customer service orientation. If you go, choose the lady closest to the door and not the one in the middle seat (Diem). Also be as specific as possible and over communicate what you want to avoid say, getting your bangs chopped off or your head shaved too short. read more

I got a coupon on the newspaper that said free hair cut at f8 quick hair cut so i when to try it out. so theres a machine where you pay when you coming and you pay there so i got this young kid cut my hair i told him how i wanted at first i was nervous that he wouldnt do a good job but the end he did a good job . All hair cuts are $8 so thats awsome price for hair cut i would be coming back. OK, it's a $10 cut and what can U expect? I'm elderly and don't need a 'custom cut', but I do wish for a decent head of hair after a visit to the local barber. After reading the prior reviews, I now understand something about specifying #5 or #10 cuts, unknown to me before. However, the last few visits have been unsatisfactory; I did not tip the dude for a bad haircut back in October, told him why in November, went on to get my cut from Diem then and this afternoon. Ump. This time, she produced a substandard cut, evidently in solidarity to the dude, got her $2 tip anyway, and I found I was wearing said substandard cut when I got home. OK, the dude was offended by my evaluation, but evidently he chose retaliation rather than service improvement, and instructed Diem to offer only minimal service. I know she can do a great job, demonstrated by the fine cut she gave the older oriental gentleman just before me- I expected at least the same. I am not in the habit of registering complaints in writing. In this case, I feel justified in stating the facts and expecting better service. Improvement would benefit all. read more

Seriously the worst place to get a haircut. They have a ticket dispenser that only takes cash. They also provided the an incomplete service. Literally shaved my head and didn't bother cleaning me up. They have no towels and only used a paper towel to wipe some hair off. I'm not sure how this place is open for business. read more

Few days after a friend pointed out to me that the there is couple line on my neck trim, and that is twisted on the one side.
