In these years I've had excellent haircuts from five or six barbers there. My current regular barber is Tina, and she does a wonderful job. Needed to get my 5 yr old son's hair cut in time for school pictures. Was referred to this place by a mom friend and what a great find! $18 for a men's cut in an old-school barber shop environment. They don't even do women's hair so the place has a kind men's club feel to it, with the usual conversation topics floating around the shop, such as politics (they're all thieves, by the way), sports, and the weather. The service is friendly, they move fast, and the product is good. If you like barber shops, this is the most predictable (if not the oldest) in Los Altos. read more

Shop looks older but the Vietnamese lady barber Michelle, adds a significant upgrade to this shop! Michelle is a great addition to their staff. She is so easy to talk to and gives a wonderful haircut. As a bonus, Michelle provides a short shoulder massage which relaxes and soothes your body. Truly wonderful experience! read more

I went on 3/22/2019 and got my hair cut by a barber I hadn't had before. I didn't notice at the time, but when I got home he left large chunks of long hair in my head. I noticed he did a quick job and did not know how to cut, but I didn't see the patches of long hair that he had left until I got home. I am going back on Monday and asking them to fix my hair, I am not sure I will go back again. I've been a regular customer at the Barber Stylist for almost 15 years. There has been some slow turnover among the barbers over the years, but I mostly see the same faces each month when I go in. Jerrie has been my regular barber for the past couple of years. She always does a great job and remembers what I want without needing any explanation from me. Just recently, Jerrie has taken over as the new owner. She's made a few small changes, like serving coffee and tea while you wait, but it's basically the same as before - still providing reliable, great service at a reasonable price. read more

This is an "old school" barber shop (not a salon) that's been around for decades, now under new ownership. I've been going here for about six months or so and have never had a bad haircut. Barber can't even do haircut like showed him on a picture. It's pretty simple fade. He didn't even put a hair cloth and neck strip right way. All my pants covered with short hair. Nobody asked me about any hairstyling or am i like hair cut or not. Barber don't have any uniform. Looks like just random guys waiting in a line. My barber was not friendly at all. I took five minutes to get there when i got it they just said it's closed and probably i called to a wrong number then i call again to the same phone number and their phone started ring. My hair got butchered. The barber literally ran his clippers across my head like a lawn mower. I couldn't have been more disappointed. I was lured here because it was open on a Sunday and the reviews seemed positive for the most part. I had my reservations, and should have gone with my guy. The only reason I gave it two stars is because there are at least 4 barbers there at any given time and maybe I just got a bad one. Brought the rating down to one star when everyone commented on what an awful hair cut I had. It took two months for my hair to grow out so it could be cut normally. read more

I walked right in to a chair on a Wednesday afternoon and got great service. The haircut was quick and efficient and came out very nice with a minimal amount of description or intervention from me. As advertised, there was an episode of Gunsmoke on the TV, which was kinda funny/cool. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is the price was pretty high for just a simple men's haircut. It was a few bucks more than chain salons (like Supercuts and Great Clips) and those places usually give you a warm towel at the end. The quality of the cut was maybe slightly better than those chain shops, but it's kind of a toss up. Still, a solid place to get a (men's) haircut (and certainly cheaper than some other super-fancy barber shops/stylists in the area). CASH OR CHECK ONLY though. read more

How does this place have 4 stars?! I looked for a nearby barber shop for my elderly uncle to get a haircut and beard trim and saw the 4 stars. I should have read more of the reviews before bringing him here. Absolutely awful experience. Explained clearly to the barber that my uncle needed just a trim for his hair, to clean up his neck for his beard, and to just neatly trim his beard. I stepped outside for a few minutes to make a call and when I came back the barber had removed his entire beard. I looked at him and said, " I asked for just a trim not a complete shave." No apology, nothing. Oh well, nothing we can do at this point I think. So can you clean up around the ears and trim the ear hair off the top of his ears? The barber uses the clippers on my elderly uncle's ears and cuts him. I can see the pain on my uncle's face and tell him to stop. Now my uncle is bleeding. I examine his ear closer and see cuts on his ear. The bleeding won't stop. Nobody seems concerned, in fact the staff just stands around making comments that its normal and there are blood vessels on top of the ear. The only one who seems concerned is a female barber who provides him with a product that stops the bleeding. The barber who did this doesn't apologize and doesn't seem to really care that he screwed up. He took off the entire beard, left him covered in hair, cut his ear, didn't do a decent haircut and then after all this had the nerve to charge us. My mistake taking him here in the first place. read more

Every time I get my hair cut here, I get a different person cutting my hair, which I am fine with as long as they do a good job. I'd say that all of the cuts I get here are acceptable but whether I like them or not is usually about 50-50. I'm not real anal about how my hair looks. It's nothing fancy as you can see from my photos. I'd recommend this place to someone near Los Altos who needs a barber. The place is nothing special but it is still a good place to get a decent cut for under 16 bucks. read more

Ray just moved here from President Barber Shop in Palo Alto and he is the best. He's been cutting my hair since 2012 and I refuse to go to anyone else. He's also a great person for a good funny conversation. Haircuts here are also cheaper (only $25) than most other places. Could not give a stronger recommendation. read more
