We went over everything that had transpired, since the previous Friday, and she apologized for her massively misinformed staff, regarding the membership agreement, and their lack of compassion. She confirmed that clients have 3 business days to cancel an agreement, and Sunday is not considered as a business day. She cancelled the membership that I erroneously signed up for. What I can say now, is 1) Lori Ann Garcia-Alvarado does in fact care about protecting people and the franchise, 2) She is well informed and compassionate, 3) Don't back down when you know you are being wronged, there are good informed people who will help you, like Lori Ann. I very much appreciate the time she took to call and email me almost immediately after she received my email, rectify the situation, and discuss the wrong doings with her staff. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU! On Friday, 02/28/2026, I received a text from HOTWORX with the option to sign up for $1 to activate "your SPRING BODY" and replied $1, to activate my membership. On Saturday, 03/01/2026, I received another text telling me to login and sign the agreement, which I did. As soon as I went into the app, I realized that I erroneously signed up for the wrong location, which is 7010 W Loop 1604 Ste 105, San Antonio, TX 78254 Ph 210-866-9600, and is in a different city than where I live (41 miles away and a 1 hour drive). I had also cancelled a membership with that same location 3 years ago because of the move. As soon as I realized my error, on Saturday 03/01/2026, I immediately called the San Antonio Alamo Ranch location, 210-866-9600, to get help with cancelling the contract that I signed in error just moments earlier. The staff was unavailable when I called, at 3:43 p.m. CST, so I left a voice message explaining the issue, gave my phone # and name, and asked for help in cancelling that location - which I still have not received a return call from. My intention was to join the HOTWORX location near me, which is 2188 TX-46 Suite 108, New Braunfels, TX 78132 Phone 830-310-4424. The Alamo Ranch location in San Antonio has me set up on a plan to use any location, "Sweat Elite" I believe, however, that plan is currently not in by budget which is why I attempted to cancel immediately. I am the caregiver for my elderly father, a Military Veteran who lives with my husband and I, as he has prostate and liver cancer. This is not a sob-story, it is the truth. I thought I had joined my local location, to relieve stress when I am not having to take him to chemo treatments or tend to his medical needs. Now, today, I am more financially and emotionally stressed than I was before Friday. I called the Alamo Ranch location in San Antonio again today, Tuesday 03/03/2026, and while speaking with "Betsy" and the General Manager "Z", I was spoken down to and received a belittling response and absolutely no grace, care, assistance, or understanding with my error and financial concern. The response was cold and belittling "You get no grace and can pay $99 today if you want to cancel."...when I only made the error 3 days ago. I sent this same message to the Alamo Ranch franchise owner via their website and have attempted to contact corporate via email...BEGGING for grace and the assistance that I was seeking since Saturday, when I realized the error that I had made.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience trying to cancel my HOTWORX membership…read more I initially tried to cancel over the phone but was told I had to physically come into the studio. After making the trip there, I had to wait for a manager because the employee at the front desk apparently couldn't process a cancellation. When the manager finally came out several minutes later, he was chewing food while speaking with me, which I found very unprofessional. The actual cancellation process made the requirement to come in even more frustrating because nothing was done that appeared to require my physical presence. It felt like an unnecessary obstacle to canceling a membership. What bothered me most was being charged two additional months upfront to cancel. It's only the 10th of the month, and I had already paid for this month. I understand having a cancellation policy, but charging two full additional months upfront rather than calculating the notice period from the date of cancellation felt excessive. I've been a member for approximately three years and have literally used the facility once. After paying membership fees for all that time, I expected the cancellation process to at least be simple and professional. Unfortunately, this experience left me with a very negative impression of HOTWORX and how they handle members who choose to cancel.

HCF approaches every workout this way, and it gave me the motivation to get back into fitness in February 2016. I say "team" because just like a more traditional team, everyone in the gym is in it together as one unit. Instead of working out individually, we are all pushing ourselves and each other through the same workout and toward the same goal. That being said, each athlete is unique and has their own talents and strengths, as well as weaknesses, so when someone is struggling through something, everyone else comes around and encourages them until they complete it. The mindset through every workout is "we're not done until we're all done" and it builds and incredible sense of camaraderie that I have missed. Competing as a synchronized swimmer for twelve years, I learned to value and rely on my teammates. I learned that to be successful I had to be selfless and put the success of the team ahead of my own. It took hard work and dedication, and I have found that same drive again at HCF. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you are, it doesn't matter what weight you put on the bar, it doesn't matter if you collapse in a sweaty heap after the workout. What matters are the people next to you. What matters is that you go all out and do your best every day and support those around you, because they will be the same ones who support you when you need it. Terrible customer service at times especially with and machines being down for weeks. I noticed…read morebroken glass in the parking lots and confirmed with the front that its due to vehicle break-ins. The pricing jumped from $20 to 32 due to the sale being over in 2 months because I joined late. Not enough punching bags as one is not enough but nothing is done about it. Ill finish out my contract and make sure to cancel in person because it auto renews month after. People nice and respectful and due take the time to clean machines at times. They don't throw weights around or sit doing nothings for too long. I cant comment on the pool or lockers as I don't use them. I did mention the issues with the manager but it did nothing and offered excuses. She wouldn't honor the old price of $20.

Okay- as an update to my review... I attended another CS4 class (HIIT style class with 5 rotating…read morestations) and I absolutely loved it. It's so hype and motivating, and I got a great workout. I actually enjoyed the class so much that I decided to join the gym. I've already been back to the CS4 class. It definitely is an expensive gym membership, but the thing is you're getting unlimited classes PLUS full access to the gym. I am not one to spend money on working out because you truly don't need to, but if you can afford to treat yourself it's a totally unique gym experience for me. Every time I've gone there's plenty of machines open, there's open benches, they have SO many dumbbells and free weights in all different weight increments.... The lower weight dumbbells increase by 2.5lbs which is amazing. A lot of gyms only have 2 sets of each weight and many times the popular weights are all in use. I also love that people in this gym actually seem to clean up after themselves and wipe equipment. I used to be a member of a different gym and sometimes it felt like being in a Petri dish.... So honestly, I've been converted!!

Is this really how Club Studio treats loyal members? Because I'm furious…read more I've been a Club Studio member since before my location even opened, and today's interaction has me seriously considering canceling my membership. Here's what happened. I was already signed up for a class. I decided I'd rather take a different class that was happening AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. Here's the part that absolutely blows my mind: The class I was enrolled in had multiple open spots. The class I wanted to switch into also had multiple open spots. I'm going to repeat that because it's the entire point. BOTH. CLASSES. HAD. OPEN. SPOTS. I wasn't asking to jump a waitlist. I wasn't asking someone else to give up their spot. I wasn't asking for an extra class. I wasn't canceling altogether. I was simply asking to move my reservation from one class with open availability to another class with open availability at the exact same time. How does that hurt anyone? I called the studio, and Aiden, who said he was the supervisor, refused. His solution was that I needed to cancel my reservation in the app, pay a $15 late cancellation fee, and then rebook the other class myself. I explained--more than once--that both classes had open spots, so there was literally no impact to another member or the studio. His response every single time? "Yeah, yeah, yeah... no worries." Over. And over. And over. It wasn't reassuring. It came across as completely dismissive and condescending, like he couldn't have cared less about what I was saying. Finally, I told him, "If this is how Club Studio treats loyal members, I'm canceling my membership." His response? "Yeah, yeah, yeah... no worries." Then he immediately explained the two different ways I could cancel. That was it. No attempt to solve the problem. No attempt to retain a member. No, "Let me see what I can do." No, "Let me check with someone." Nothing. What infuriates me isn't just the policy. It's the complete lack of common sense and customer service. This could have been resolved in less than 30 seconds by moving me from one class with open spots to another class with open spots. Instead, they were apparently willing to lose a loyal member over a situation that affected absolutely no one. At this point, I'm seriously considering canceling my membership, and if I don't hear from management or corporate, my husband and I will both be canceling. Has anyone else had this kind of experience with Club Studio, or is this just unbelievably poor judgment by one supervisor?
