    Ran into some of the same issues as others. Had a radio replaced in my Ford, mostly because the…read moreexisting unit would not run some of the software I would have liked, age, not damage. 1. From the moment I left the shop I discovered a problem with the backup camera. Poor picture, useless angle, etc. I was originally informed that I would require my on-board camera to be replaced. It seems there is a control, CD eject button that controls the camera view. 2. My heating system was hijacked by the unit. From that point onwards I could not use the climate control. The displayed temp was anywhere between 0 and 70 degrees C. At this point I got the radio manufacturer involved 3. I was informed that the store was waiting for an upgrade from the manufacturer of the interface unit. 4. Other features were disappointing and Included Phone volume suddenly cutting out, Radio unavailable after a phone call, and other minor features. I finally gave up (0ver 3 months) and asked for my original radio to be reinstalled. As I was leaving the site, I tried the radio, no go. I returned to the store (hadn't really left) and immediately got berated for coming in with a faulty unit. Everything was my fault and they even said that the only reason for replacing my existing radio was because of problems I was having. This was not a claim that I had made. Everything worked properly when I first came in. After the new unit was installed, the CD player would not work with the new unit, that was fine as I never used it anyway. That is the only issue they actually brought to my attention. Among the things they claimed was wrong included coins in the radio, no sign of this. The store could not have an effect on the supplier despite being their main source of sales. Needless to say, I will never darken their door again.

So they told me they had to remove my car starter system and would order me a new one and call me when it came back. My car has been without a car starter since then. No call back, I called them back and they seemed confused at my questions and said they would call me back. It's been about 6 years and i'm starting to think they forgot about me. I was incredibly poor at this time and mooching meals off of friends and family but they did get some of my moola and i got nothing. It stings harder when you scrape by to fund a solution and they only get you 50% of the way. Better places out there.

You could tell he likes his work. He replaced some shoddy wiring from an amateur job and put in 2 new speakers in the rear doors and it now sounds great. He even checked for any hookups on the battery for potential shorts. He was very fair in his pricing. And he explained things. He doesn't always answer his phone and his hours aren't always as advertised, but if you can put up with that, you can receive trusted work done.

He found that the amplifier was "dead" so he tried to find another amplifier but was unsuccessful as a new one was not available and the used one he found did not work. So Chris installed a new sound system. He worked until 2 am one night as I needed my car for the next day. The following week he worked until 9 pm to finish the install. I am thrilled with my new system. He also installed a back up camera along with an amazing sound system. My car was returned in immaculate condition and he kindly took time to show me how the new system worked. I am a senior so I do not always find technology easy to use. Chris is truly a wonderful man and a very talented person. The work he did to help me fix this is sooo much appreciated.

    This sorry excuse for a business has the worst customer service and I cannot say this loud enough…read more STAY AWAY. DO NOT BUY A REMOTE STARTER HERE. You'll be back multiple times for a quick fix only to be not working again after a few weeks. And then they might randomly charge you $55 for a B.S. shop charge to reset it - keep in mind this takes a few minutes to do. This place is an absolute nightmare. Go to Certified Radio instead - you pay a little more for real customer service and a product that works. I hope this place slowly fades away and shuts down.

My car alarm/starter is in the middle of repair but I had to write this review before I forget what happened just now. The receptionist is amazing. You can tell this location is locally owned and operated. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They help when you call in (as I had to, last week) and help when you just stop by to see what is available (as I had to last night). They were able to book me in the next day to look at my alarm system and the cost to fix is substantially lower than I originally expected (including labour costs). This morning when I dropped off my car, I couldn't help but overhear the conversation the receptionist was having with the person in front of me. A walk in customer went to a dealership to get a quote on an alarm system/starter and the dealership was going to charge for an "extended" warranty that was the same price as a new remote (if you ever had to replace it). The receptionist was delighted to help out and let her know what warranties were actually offered by the manufacturer themselves. She also helped her find a system that was within her budget. It was refreshing to hear a staff member be so open and honest with another customer and not bash the dealership at the same time. I really was blown away by how friendly she was to this person and continued to be with me (and the technician working on my car was super nice too!). I definitely recommend checking out this place for car stereos and alarm systems. They won't try to up sell on anything unless you want it or need it. I've gone to places before where techs have tried to sell me a new car stereo or alarm system when the current one is perfectly fine. The first technician I dealt with actually commented on how cool my current stereo is (although that's the next thing to be replaced) and didn't ask if I was looking to change it. Even if you don't buy from here I know they would answer any questions truthfully and honestly. I definitely recommend this local business. The only thing that would make this location better is a customer lounge. Just because of the area if you're dropping off a car and it's only an hour or two for shop work...the closest thing is a Tim Hortons and I don't know if that place has wifi to do any work or etc.

I've had a car starter, new stereo, speakers, even power windows (regulator) fixed and/or installed by these guys. Ray (the owner) is a very patient guy who will listen to all your concerns. You can count on F/X audio for ALL your car's electronic needs and you can rest assured your car is in good hands with experienced and very competent technicians. Ray (the owner) is a guy who stands behind his work. He has been doing car electronics for sooo long (20+ years I think), he has worked on most makes and models of cars and trucks. When it comes to car electronics, you get what you pay for. With Ray and his team at F/X audio that is experience and integrity. It's a family run operation and they care a lot about the quality of the work. So if it's any electronic issue related to cars or passenger trucks, run it by Ray and his team. They have the right attitude solving any electronic issue or upgrade you may want. And they have the patience to hear you out. In my case, Ray and his team worked on a classic Mercedes and my 1990 RX7 and a newer Toyota my daughter owns. They also don't shy away from the complex electronics of todays newer vehicles. Look, the service departments of car dealerships charge a fortune when it comes to electronic issues. I highly recommend you give F/X audio a chance to upgrade and solve your vehicle's electronic needs after you've received an outrageous quote from the service dept of the car dealership. F/X audio will make you happy and they stand behind their work. For me, it's even worth the drive out to Spruce Grove! They are MUCH more than car audio.

    I Bought a brand new vehicle from a dealership. Part of the $34,000 package I bought was to have…read morecustom leather put in. The dealership uses Auto Styles to do their leather and insisted they do great work. When I consulted with the sales man, John, I showed him a design I wanted stitched in the headrest. He said it would be no problem at all! After a week, I got my car back and the leather looked great, but unfortunately the design I requested was in the complete WRONG spot and WRONG font. Okay, that's fine, mistakes happen. I was really pleasant about the error, and he handled it well. He told me he would let me know when the new piece arrives and they'd call me to bring my vehicle in. A week and a half went by and I still hadn't heard anything so I decided to phone him. He forgot to put the order in. Wow. This isn't looking so good. He assured me he put the order in immediately after we talked. TWO weeks goes by, and again, I hear nothing back. Holy shit, he forgot to call and tell me it was in. (are you fkn kidding me?) I set the appointment and asked if he can have someone either pick up or drop off my vehicle (I live exact opposite of Edmonton to their shop) I figured it's the least they could do after such terrible service. Unfortunately he "just couldn't do it". When I finally went to pick up my vehicle, let's keep in mind it's almost rush hour on yellowhead, the Hot Head in the back told me I couldn't have my keys because john wanted to talk to me, and to go wait up front. Considering it was -25, my keys would be nice to at least let my car run but he wouldn't give them to me. After 15 minutes of waiting and no sign of John, I went to the back to ask for my keys once more, and that I needed to leave, I was already going to be late for something and that I had absolutely no reason to talk to John. Mr. Hot Head refused to give me my keys, told me he would start my car for me (which he didn't) and then yelled at me to go wait for John. I was absolutely livid at this point. I am a young female, and I feel like he completely took advantage of that and WITH HELD MY PROPERTY. When John finally got to the shop, he went to grab the keys where I heard Mr. Hot Head yelling at him full force. John came up and laughed it off, put my keys on the counter and sheepishly (get ready for this, it's actually APPALLING) asked me for 100 dollars for labor. I stared at him with a smile on my face thinking it was a joke. Nope, he was dead serious. He wanted me to pay for their (several) fuck ups. I couldn't believe it! Now that makes sense why Mr. Hot Head (let's stop beating around the bush) Mr. Coke Head* wouldn't let me leave before John came back. I can't believe the series of events that took place with these bozos. The work is done well but the business side of things is mayhem. I wouldn't suggest giving them you're money.

    AWFUL: No work ethic and disrespectful of time and effort…read more Dealing with Jon at Auto Styles Plus Yellowhead Trail in Edmonton was a nightmare. False promises, excuse after excuse week after week for almost a year. I bought my vehicle from a dealership in 2011 with the leather already placed in the vehicle by Auto Styles Plus. One year later (2012) I noticed the leather in the back seat where the cup holders are was not sewn in properly, and the leather on the front passenger seat and the driver seat was starting to fade out and look worn beyond what it should look like. So in August of 2012 the dealership booked an appointment at the dealership for me to meet with Jon, he said he would be replacing the leather in the back (cup holder) and the two front seats. Jon gave me the run around for over a year. Making appointments and then breaking the appointment dates again and again. I finally was so stressed out that I thought "forget it". But then in February of 2015 the seats went to their ultimate worse state the leather has now cracked and broke open on the seats it looks beyond it's years, and I maintain my vehicle. I thought that I would give Auto Styles Plus one more go, and see if they could help me. Jon promised that every thing would be taken care of, when he looked at my vehicle in February of this year (2015). Then the excuses started... the company has not sent out the leather, they sent the wrong leather, I don't have all the parts, I have everything but I need to re-book again, sorry it's to busy this week, I didn't think you confirmed for today, I have it covered under warranty, wait no I didn't say I had it covered under warranty, oh no wait it is covered under warranty. Then he started to sweeten the deals for his poor work efforts I will replace all the leather in the vehicle because I wasted your time, I know someone at Ming and we will have your car detailed (cleaned) as well. It is now mid October and there is an excuse and a lie every week as to why the vehicle has not been done. The text messages that Jon sends are Obscene and are an embarrassment for the reputation of a company name.There are "accidental" personal text messages to other women. He will never call he only texts. He talked about not being able to find a girlfriend or keep a girlfriend. He has left messages about his child's mother on my phone saying that she is "useless", so inappropriate and none of my business. I have had enough, I don't believe I have ever met or dealt with such a poorly run business in my life. The sad thing is I highly doubt he would treat a male or send another male the texts and the excuses they gave to me. This business has no worth ethic or any sort of reliability. I have made a complaint into Katzkin Canada (Auto Styles leather distributor), Katzkin was very understanding about what was happening with the leather in my car. Katzkin was were unaware of how long I have had the run around with Auto Style Plus to have the leather redone. It wasn't a problem for them to cover it under warranty as soon as they heard what the issue was; however, I believe it is Auto Style Plus who do not and have not wanted to replace the leather without getting money for labor work...The same labor work that should have been done under the original warranty back in 2012. I want to be clear when I say it is not the leather manufacturers fault it is Auto Style Plus Yellowhead Trail location that is the problem.
