"Ishmael seems prompt in responding to customers, so hopefully, he can provide insight into this situation. On 5/31/25, I visited the EZ Pay in Oakland and left with what I initially assumed was a completed registration process; however, it was only the beginning of a very inconvenient entanglement. The woman I've been dealing with, named Elizabeth, is "forgetful" to say the least. Anyways, she only provided me with one plate and a year sticker during my first visit. I didn't notice until I left to put the plate on the car that she hadn't provided the month sticker. The following week, I returned to request the sticker she forgot, and it was a hassle-free process, much appreciated! Today's date is 6/10/25; since then, I have returned twice in an attempt to resolve the issue, but they were either at lunch all day or the system was down all day. Today, I was able to take the time to try again, and luckily, they were open! Upon addressing the situation, I was informed by Elizabeth that I would have to pay $57 and provide my driver's license to get the second plate. She acknowledged that she forgot the month sticker during the first visit and provided it to me during my next visit but refused to accept the possibility that I wasn't provided the second plate, suggesting that maybe I screwed it on with the other plate. This isn't the end of the world, but how many people have had this happen to them at this location? It seems as if there is a lack of professionalism, and Elizabeth has a "just pay for it" demeanor. Not much to say other than any reason to avoid the DMV is good enough for me. My mom realized her tags were going to expire the next day and she was stressed, because she didn't want to have to take the day off to be at DMV all day. I rememeber coming to this place a few years back but the location in Hayward! Which I prefer, staff is more friendly compared fo the Oakland location. Almost had me about to fight the girl behind the window, acted like her shit didn't stink. Anywho. The small fee you have to pay is most definitely worth it, rather than spending 5+ hours at DMV and then not even being able to finish what you wanted because you forgot 1 thing or staff is always rude because they hate their jobs, loud kids, etc etc the list goes on. Y'all know how the DMV be! All i'd say is imo go to the EZ Pay in Hayward off of Soto & Jackson, directly across the street from DMV, way better service. read more

This EZ Pay is a listed as a UPS Access location. I dropped off a package with a printed label for 2 Day Air on Thursday, December 6th. I got a call today, Monday Dec. 10th from an irate Amazon customer telling me they had not received their package that they were expecting on Saturday. Called UPS they have no trace of a package being picked up from this EZ Pay location. Called the location, it's sitting there with the staff member letting me know that it wasn't picked up because it was in the "wrong place". I tried to get UPS to pick the package and overnight it to my customer. They said since it wasn't there fault, they would not reconcile the situation and suggested I pick up the package mail express mail it myself and get EZ Pay to reimbursement for the botched and the express shipping costs. Needless to say, I picked up the package and overnight expressed it via USPS. I asked the staff if I could speak to a manager or get the manager's direct number and I was told that the Manager Ishmael would be too busy to attend to this matter. I was shocked that they would tell me that and pissed because I've never been denied a request to speak to a manager or at least get an phone number or email from a company that provides customer service. However, I was civil and asked the staff member to please have him call me and left him my name and number. I filed a concern with UPS for this location as an Access point for their services I also just used the contact form on the website to request for reimbursement for the botched UPS shipping cost and the Overnight express mailing. This is the first time Amazon required that I ship with UPS for it's Prime fulfillment by seller. If you are an Amazon seller or a company with VERY strict shipping requirements, do not use this location as an Access Point, it may not get shipped on time. I have full faith that this company will reconcile my request. I will post an update if and when they reconcile this issue. read more

I Went here on a Saturday, 10/12/19 to register my out of state car. Although there were 2 people ahead of me, I was in an out within 30min with my California license plate, car registration and tag. They did all the paperwork for you, so you don't have to fill in the long DMV forms. The online chat representative (Ishmael) via the website was very responsive and helpful and replied almost instantly even though I messaged late around 930pm on a Friday night. I would suggest double checking with the chat representative before coming to understand what documents are needed, and to know which time/branch is quicker. It is definitely worth spending the extra $$ to skip the DMV lines. read more

I bought a car from an individual on Craigslist and had to register it with the DMV and transfer the title over to my name. California law requires you to register a vehicle within 10 days of purchasing it, but of course no DMV appointments were available for at least two weeks! I'm glad I found this place! It saved me so much hassle. I came in on a Saturday around noon with the vehicle's title (pink slip) signed over to me and the bill of sale. There was street parking right in front and no wait at all. Within a hour I had my car registered and taxes and fees paid for. They do charge an extra fee that you wouldn't have to pay if you went straight to the DMV -- but it was so worth it to avoid the real DMV. Plus, I was able to take care of this on a SATURDAY and not take any time off of work. Totally worth it. The employees were knowledgeable and reasonably efficient, but not super friendly (still better than DMV employees). Tip: Bring cash to pay the license and registration fees. They also take debit, but charge 2% extra if you do. read more

Quite convenient for what I needed to do (wire some money to family). I was also able to get a key made at the same time (again, quite convenient!). The only thing I didn't like was the location. There wasn't a lot of street parking so I had to walk a little ways which I didn't mind but I didn't like not being able to see my car :-/ If you're coming for the dmv registration part be prepared to wait awhile. I'm so happy I found this place! I was ready to go to the DMV office when I googled the hours and saw EZ Pay. WHAT A RELIEF!!! I didn't have my DMV registration letter so I messaged the business through yelp to ask if they could help me. The owner responded fast. I only need my current registration card. When I arrived there were a few people ahead of me but who cares! THE DMV IS A NIGHTMARE!!!!! I wasn't sure but thought I needed a smog test. Sure enough I did. No problem. My husband just went in to get one document notarized and these two young Latino girls were less than helpful to say the least. He asked one of them to get this document notarized and her exact response was "We don't do that here". My husband then pointed at the large service sign which states "notary services" and she had the SAME response! Worst experience ever. I needed to add someone to my car title and needed it ASAP. Found this place on Yelp. I called to make sure they were able to do this. A lady on the phone said they could. I asked her multiple times what paperwork was needed. All you need is the title, she said. I asked again multiple times if she was sure walking through what I needed to do, and she said yes. I drove all the way here in the rain, in 1 hour traffic, to get here. As the girl was processing my paperwork, she mentioned that she needs a smog check and it needs to be done to the car within 3 months. Well, I just got my tags, and my car passed the smog check less than 4 months ago. Anyway, I asked if she was sure because all I need was to add someone to my title. I told her no, I did not bring that. Of course not I was screaming in my head, no one mentioned after I asked several times, that I needed a smog check and that I need to bring proof of it (and in the end, the smog thing was totally unnecessary as you'll see in my next paragraph). My blood was boiling. I came all this way and left empty handed because of were incompetence. Oh, and I was stuck in traffic for another hour returning home. For the time wasted I should have gone to the DMV. Anyway, because it was urgent I found another place that was able to do it, WITHOUT a smog check.
