The owner is a very sweet and happy man who loves shaking hands and holding doors open. He's seen my partner so many times, he now hugs him when we leave. There is a large selection of vegetarian & vegan & veganizable meze and a small selection of mains. I usually go for the "fiesta" as it is the most food for money and I can swap the halloumi for roasted veggies, no problem. So much food, so much deliciousness. But be careful everyone! The most amazing freshly baked Turkish bread is placed in front of you before the meal, along with a spicy tomato dip and olives. It's so good, it's hard to stop, and then there is no room left in your tummy for the feast of your main! Also, for drinks- the house red is quite tasty for the cheapest option. Every time someone is visiting us from out of town and we want a nice meal, we bring them here. We've brought everyone from California to Japan here and always celebrate hubby's birthday here as well. I hope you will treat your friends!

My husband got the sausage, Brie and tomato chutney on sourdough. He found it tasty. The interior is so cute: lots of eclectic tchotchkes, brick walls and chalkboards. Also fair prices for everything and a friendly staff to boot. I would definitely return if I lived close by.

From what I remember the past is sourdough but What came out were all the ingredients squashed onto one slice of a seeded warburtons or other brand. There was no warning that they were out sourdough at the ordering and it was softly toasted which meant it had no crunch or stability to it because of the contents above. When I asked the waiter he said it was due to swapping it to eliminate the waste of people not eating all of it (no apology or offer of more toast, btw)...so? The cost should of been covered in the price you charge for it which is: £9.50!!! Change the price and menu if You are changing the meal, please. Was a perfect meal before and now it was a mound of mush with the only different texture being cubes of chorizo... The original review: Been here a half a dozen times already but I'm a bit lazy with reviews lately! Starting off with the food, delicious breakfasts, particularly like the eggs, bacon and Parmesan dish, they use good bread, no baked beans but a tasty posh version using chickpeas, flatmate really liked the Veg burger and is currently getting again. (This review is very much in the moment!) They have a burger menu that I'll be sampling for the first time today. Good coffee! It's kind of the only nice little cafe restaurant in the area so definitely recommend! This is sweet little cafe/restaurant, the premise being we are sat in view of the kitchen of a flat and we are eating home cooked food. Initial impressions is that it's nicely decorated, good lighting, brick wall adds some character and small garden of plants out the window to pretty up the view of Hornsey Road. The service is good hence the repeat visits so unless this particular dining experience goes completely wrong I'll def be coming back again

I'd bookmarked Le Rif a while back and when I was riding the bus along Seven Sisters Road towards Finsbury Park, I dimly remembered that there was this place that I've been meaning to check out. I quickly researched the whereabouts of this place and just a few minutes later I entered mini-Morocco. I had only a ten-quid note and so I made a deal with the owner to put together a nice selection for this money. And what a great selection that was: I had a meaty samoso as a starter, which was delicious, but lacked a little in crispiness. (I suspect it had been nuked.) As a main, I had a tagine of all sorts of delicious things: the owner said that since this was my first visit, he would put together a nice selection for me...the lamb was delightful and so tender it fell of the bone. The meatballs in a tomatoey sauce were also quite tasty and all the vegetable sides were spiced in that sweet-cinammony note. All in all, I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely recommend coming by here!

Popping in I was stunned to see so many smoothie juice combinations on the board. Almost too much. Another customer spotted me. Must be a regular cos he said...it's a lot, but it's a lot of goodness. It's what you put into your body that makes you what you are. True I thought, and well said my friend. I noticed a meal deal to make it all the more easier. Phew I thought. £6 for a healthy wrap and a small smoothie. £8 for a salad bowl (8 different mixes) and a small smoothie. I opted for the former going all out healthy with a avocado, chicken and sun dried tomato wrap. They have other options to wrap but this is best way of lowering carbs and keeping the filling packed in. I also went for a beet, Apple, carrot, orange. No.14 in list which is called Beet basic. Fresh beet is rarely bought by people as opposed to cooked ones we get in supermarket so I wanted to get something I'd rarely make at home. It took a while to come. Maybe 15 mins after my juice came the wrap appeared. They were busy inside I do know that and I was going to say something but I realised they were making everything fresh. I say this because the chicken to my surprise and delight was nicely weak Inside with a very lightly toasted wrap with avocado and chilli sauce and sun dried tomato inside. It was perfect. A side of lettuce and olives too. The beet juice was fantastic. Can't help but think they should have named it Bettlejuice surely guys?! Overall I will definitely be back to sample more juices after the gym with some more food. The healthy food vibe seems to have finally spread this way in North London with numerous places popping up in Crouch End and Hornsey. And I mean a lot but I do love these options so very happy at these developments.

I can see that there is a mixture of opinions on this place...so my I just introduce mine as well?…read more One of my earliest Yelp reviews was on a vegetarian Indian place near Tottenham Hale Station...also called Jai Krishna. This place in Stroud Green is very similar in that it is very simplistic in design, but very functional & efficient: As soon as you sit down, one of the staff will bring you a menu and a piece of paper, on which you should write down your order. To me, this seemed to be quite strange at first, but after having come back 4 times already, I actually like it, because you can take your time with your order - no one is rushing you, even though the place gets quite crowded on the weekends. Now, my favourite item on the menu is the masala dosa. But really any dish has been tasty and I recommend ordering a bunch of dishes if you are with a group and then share it all. That way you get a good overview! For dessert (or starter) I recommend their pistacchio lassie...yummy! What I like most about this place is the people who work here: everyone is so friendly and peaceful - especially the lady who works the cash register. She seems to be the lady running this place...but she's just very good-natured! Be aware though: this place is a BYOB, so pop in to the nearby Tesco or Sainsbury's if you want to drink alcohol along with your meal.

It is a family run place and one of the best restaurants in Finsbury Park. Having lived in India briefly as a child I am always keen to find somewhere that does good, authentic Indian food. Jai Krishna definitely delivers; with all the favourites as well as some more interesting dishes. I would particularly recommend the pumpkin and aubergine curries. The food is also great value with prices as low as £3 for a main dish. Jai Krishna does not have a liquor license but you're welcome to bring your own drinks(for which there is a small supplementary fee). The only caveat is that the atmosphere is a little austere, and so perhaps best avoided on a first-date or similar situation. Still, if it is an issue you can also take away.

Granted, it took a little longer until the food actually got served, but I had a good book with me and was quite contend overall. Also, the food-ordering experience is quite interactive, so to speak...upon bringing the menu, the waiter gave me an empty sheet of paper along with a pen and I had to take my own order. These were the dishes that I ordered and that I would definitely recommend further: - Nut Cutlet (a patty made of nuts and served with a spicy tamarind sauce) - Jeero Aloo (basically baked potatoes with tomatoes, curry leaves and other typical Indian spices) - Daal Makhani (a lentil dish that was so creamy and so tasty...finger-licking good) -Stuffed Paratha And all that for mere 11 Pounds!!!
