Booked an appointment for an eye exam because I hadn't had that done in 15 years and they were able to get me in quickly (Within a couple days) and I thought it was because they were just far from town. Exam went well, used my insurance ($250 coverage) and my first exam was $140 which was covered. Was told to book at front desk for a contact fitting if I wanted to try Contacts with astigmatism correction and commented that I had only used $140 of my coverage to the lady who booked. Came back for contact lens fitting appointment, contact lenses did NOT feel right, felt terrible in my eyes. Optometrist looked and said "They appear fine"... they DID NOT, I had been wearing contacts for 20 years, these felt very uncomfortable. He said to try them for a few days and if they didn't work we could order a regular pair instead. I went to the front to give them my insurance card and the lady said that my coverage was full and that she noticed that when I was in the Friday before, so even though I mentioned that I think my coverage should cover the fitting, she saw that it wouldn't and decided not to say anything.... until after my fitting and then they even wanted to bill me for $110. I literally was in there for a total of 10 minutes. Got there at 4:05pm and left at 4:15pm. with only 2 minutes spent with the Optometrist. The lenses were so bad that I left and had to stop on my way home to take them out.
When I go to my Dentist they tell me exactly what I have left for coverage and book me in advance so that I'm not overcharged, etc. They tell me BEFORE they do anything what the costs are, give me my options. This place not only knew I wasn't covered, but deliberately didn't tell me when they knew I thought I was until after. As of this review, I still have to call my provider to confirm if I was indeed not covered. My coverage says $250 and I had only used that $140.
I don't know how you call this a fitting or could expect to charge someone $110 for this service. You literally handed me a trial pair of contacts, came back to me a few minutes later and after I said they were uncomfortable I was sent on my way and and expected to pay for what? You didn't fit anything... if I go to look at glasses and someone says "Try these one"... when I say "No these don't feel right", they don't charge me as I walk out the door.
I am a very loyal person, I went to the same dentist for years until he retired and my new dentist is great and his new office is very popular because of his tremendous service. Need to book over a month in advance. This place seems to have very few repeat customers, says a lot when people prefer going to the dentist.
You literally lost business from someone that would likely have been a return customer for the next 20-30 years.
Now I have to find a new Optometrist, even though this past one wasted my time and my coverage.
This is the first time I ever wrote a review on a company but I was so pissed off I had to. read more
