My contact lens order was missed and I waited 6 weeks with no communication. When I finally called, I was told they had dropped the ball, yet there was still no follow up. Calling again over 2 weeks later, while wearing contacts that were no longer usable, I was met with rude, dismissive, and argumentative behavior. Instead of resolving the issue, I was repeatedly told the lenses were on backorder, contradicting what I had already been told. It then became unnecessarily difficult to obtain my own prescription. When I finally received it, the numbers were significantly different from my previous exam less than a year before, raising serious concerns about its accuracy and leaving me unable to confidently order expensive custom lenses. It has now been over two months and I still have no contacts and no trusted prescription. After two decades of loyalty and even purchasing a separate coverage through VSP Vision Care just to remain with this practice, because we love Dr. Lane, The lack of accountability, poor communication, and unprofessional treatment is unacceptable. Losing 12 long term patients may not matter, but experiences like this will matter over time. It is imperative to have good staff so your business doesn't suffer.

I soon realized i was leaving for vacation and didn't have enough contacts. I messaged the office and asked if I could have a sample pack to get me through vacation and hopefully my eyes liked this kind and I could order them. They said no i could not get a sample unless I agreed to pay for a year supply of contacts. All they care about is the money. They could care less that I was keeping headaches from the contacts or that my eyes would drain with pus from the solution. The office manager needs to look at what the front office people are telling patients. I asked for my prescription and it took forever to get it because they didn't want me going somewhere else. I've been a patient for over 15 years and so has my kids. We are not going back.

UPDATE: After seeing a doctor at Blacksburg Eye, I realized that Infinity Eye Care failed to…read morediagnose a progressive condition (keratoconus). At that time, the keratoconus was advanced enough that I had significant night vision troubles, but Infinity didn't have an answer for that. My previous review was from 2020 but my visit was in 2019, and the keratoconus (corneal thinning) had definitely progressed long enough to be detectable. Had the team at Infinity Eye diagnosed it correctly then, I wouldn't have had it progress further all this time. I'm now starting treatment with scleral lenses and possibly cross-linking. That would stop the progression but not reverse it. If I'd pursued that same treatment in 2019, then I could have stopped the progression. Keratoconus is not the most common eye condition, but a skilled opthamologist should be able to catch it, and it's disturbing that that didn't happen here.

Get a second opinion before having Dr. Thompson do a procedure. Proceed with caution otherwise.read more

I inquired what that meant and she was vague, but it sounded like if I was more than 15 minutes late they wouldn't be able to see me. I arrived 10 minutes late. 40 minutes later I was still sitting in the waiting room, I had not seen any nurse or doctor. I left. Why did I only get a 15 minute grace period. But they evidently have an unlimited amount of time that patients must wait before seeing a doctor. Will not return.
